Comprehension and productivity

I know the syntax is simple, the syntax is not the problem, I struggle to understand how the some codes are structured, why certain lines of codes were written. Like the arrangement of While and for Loop for instance.
I also struggle with creativity, when given a problem, I'll solve the problem and run the code only to receive an error, most time I spend hours before I can finally solve it.

Many people have this same set of problems including me. I'm not sure i'm the right person to give you an advice, seeing as i don't use python (i learnt it for a bit then ditched it to follow another path) but you can overcome this problem by working on personal projects. The more projects you do, the more efficient you become and you will spend less time completing a project as time goes on. You seem to be on the right path, just keep working on projects to sharpen your skills, with time you won't be having issues like this wink

Yes

Ok, this is what I do.

I write (I am not a great writer, but I get by) on crypto-based blogs and earn crypto.

Then I play Blockchain based games and earn daily too.

Believe it or not, people are earning money by merely having fun in their house, in this Nigeria.

If writing is what you can do, I can guide you. But if it's not your thing, you can play the game and build a good income source.

You would need to give it time, but I assure you, it is absolutely worth it.

For context and guidance, search for Splinterlands on Twitter or you can use Google.

Hit me back afterwards.

I'm still on a learning path and i'm at javascript at the moment, i'm taking it slow and steady. I got into programming 5 months ago starting with python (wrong move on my part) but i left it after some advice i got on nairaland, then i went back to the basics with html and css, now javascript

P.S: I'm in the web development field

K, let me guess - you don't know what you wanted to do (concrete plan) before learning Python or how did you end up learning it & i also hope you've figure out ur roadmap now

Exactly, I didn't have a concrete plan when i started and i was just "testing the waters" when i picked python and i just flowed with it. Then i saw a post on nairaland by tensazangetsu20 detailing the path to be taken by someone new to programming. That was how i got the roadmap to follow and was properly introduced into web development

I just remebered i came across programming a couple of years back and i dived head-first into C++ grin No basic knowledge or anything, just dived into it and kept on swimming against the current until i gave up. It was really brutal

Something like that. At first i didn't know there were different fields under programming and i just thought learning one language will teach you everything about programming from top to bottom, it was later i discovered there are different fields (web, app, data science, machine learning and so on) and also different tools that is well suited for each of those fields.

I wouldn't call it effortless per se, When i started with html and css, i was having problem remembering syntaxes (especially css) and also couldn't fully understand how and why some things work the way they do. Then some senior developers pointed out that's it's ok to forget syntaxes and it's actually common, you just have to make Google your friend. As long as you know what you want to do and the general concept of it, you can just google it and get how to do it. But you wouldn't even have the problem of remembering syntaxes if you don't work on projects, hence the need for that.

So I kept working on projects, there are a couple of websites that give out coding challenges so I did that and completed most of those challenges, I noticed the more challenges I completed, the lesser the occurrence of me visiting google for a forgotten syntax.

Now I'm learning JavaScript and it has been fun all the while with a couple of hiccups here and there, but the struggle continues wink
