The height of stupidity is calculating Naira denominated salary in dollars. Does he spend in dollars? His type of accommodation in America is it same price as it is in Naira? Is his tax rate same as in the U.S.?

I don't know if to describe your problem as extreme inferiority complex or to just assume is a simple case of extreme dumbness

University education in the US costs an average of $15k per session and in Nigeria it's $100 Yet you calculate Naira earnings in $

You need deliverance cos it seems your village people are fully on your case
Oga you're very stupid and foolish at the sametime, I'm sorry for the insult but you deserve it, people like you are the reason why the elites and the politicians will always take advantage of the citizens of this belove country, cause you're comfortable with your stupidity. How can someone work from 8am-6pm almost everyday in a month for just a 60k salary? Do you know the stress Nigerians go through in their place of work? I saw a thread on Nairaland whereby a security at a bakery goes to work by 6am and close by 8pm for a mere 20k. Do you know how much our senators are taking home in month? How much do you spend on data in a week? How much is a healthy pot of soup? How much do you spend on calls? How much do you spend on electricity or to fuel your generator? How much do you spend in taking care of yourself? How much do you spend on transportation? While people are been paid per/hr. That is why Nigérians do die untimely, you stress yourself all day just to receive peanut, no break no vacation.
Talking about the universities, can you compare their learning environment to ours? How many computer science graduate are good in programming? Some can't even install a software. Oga reason before you dey talk, nor dey come here dey talk rubbish o.

You need to know what really drives you.. is it money (short term) or learning (long term). If you can identify what drive you between these two, you should be be able to make a decision that is right for you. Just know that; if money drives you, you'll keep chasing money that you won't ever get for the rest of your life while those who put learning first end up being chased by money because they would have acquired what could easily be converted to money. All the best!
what's your point bro? I think u ended up complicating OP's predicament. U for just stroll pass abeg.

Please stay in your current job, try enroll for ICAN if you have not started. As a chartered accountant plus your experience in that industry, you can easily move to another company.

It's quite obvious now that your case is extreme dumbness. Rational thinking is alien to you really
We are talking about conversion of Naira denominated salary to dollars you are talking of senator's salary

Dumbo a studio apartment in New York is between $1000/1200 per month. In Lagos on the mainland it's less than $10. How can you convert # to $ to determine purchasing power.

Obviously you village people are working overtime on your case

God will come through for you Las Las

Dear Nairaland, Kindly push this to the front page for clarification.

Pls kindly advise appropriately if you are in my shoes , which will you opt for.

I currently work with a manufacturing company which are into production of distilleries product as an Account Officer 60,000(Entry level) with no benefits attached but job security and yearly salary review is guaranteed and now Stanbic Ibtc Bank has offered
me a contract job as a Bank Teller at their V.I office at Idejo and is a 2 years contract, subject to renewal base on performance and need for service.

Pls kindly lend you voice with respect to what i should do.

Should i continue the formal or opt for the later?

Best regards.

Like someone said that if you’re in your mid-twenties, there’s an opportunity for full-time conversion in Stanbic before or after two years. Note that this depends on your KPI. However, if you’re more than 30, Op reject the offer and continues with your manufacturing job. There is a great prospect in the manufacturing industry. May God help you to make the right decision.

They are same slavery in different disguises. Make your choice based on what you are planning for your career! The important thing is to have a source of income for the time you will move on to the next level of your career.

Are you planning a career in manufacturing or banking/ finance corporate world?

Take the bank job.
Infrastructural and credit challenges are causing manufacturing companies to close down at the speed of light. Remuneration might also be erratic at the company.
It’s a gamble sha, I don’t know. Never had a job.

It will be nice if You get the experience before commenting.

I left the bank for manufacturing.
I will advise he sticks with the manufacturing.
You can DM me for reasons..

The Stanbic job is a better choice, there is the hope of conversion if the person has the right certificate and also within the age limit required. I am sure of better welfare package as well.

As a contract bank teller, you cannot rise.

You won't have time to look for other jobs because you will be occupied all day, hardly anytime for interviews. So you'll be stuck.
