he's the CGFR and has right to appoint and fire any service Chief, don't use Buhari stupidity of handling the NA to affect the military engagements and democratic settings

The fact is that no president will just allow some people or groups to appoint service chiefs for him, if you want to appoint service chiefs contest presidential election and win, there is no no two ways about it. So this is just a waste of time

It reads 'The armed forces Council will determine the qualification' of who the president would consider and appoint.

This simply means, nomination will be based on long years of service, not the situation where a junior officer is appointed which send other seniors on compulsory retirements.

In this case, the president would be furnished with qualified candidates comprising of maybe 6-12 from the geopolitical zones, where the president can choose from shikena.

It WON'T work. Waste of unthinkable efforts, the president is the Commander in chief and must decide who to work with in security hence he can go to bed at night knowing he's safe.
Even in the US, Russia, China etc, the president Chooses his army and other security chiefs, how can U choose for him? They want to leave room for coup and insubordination.

Very Smart, that was what came to my mind at first glance, let’s see how it rolls, but irrespective of that I believe if the bill is passed, and south easterners are given a chance to rule, it’ll make a difference, in as much as the bill cannot be easily reversed after that 2023-2027 tenure elapse.
