Sell am quick quick!

Yes I know how difficult it is to let it go but bro I've been there b4 so trust me when I tell you to sell it off immediately... You'll be glad you did.

Don't listen to any advice to ever buy a naija used car if you can afford a tokunbo go for it. It gives a great deal of peace of mind.

Use Uber/Bolt services or other cheaper alternatives to move around for the now while you invest the proceed from the sales of the car into you business... In a few years to come like I said earlier with dedication, hard work and reinvestment you'll have plenty of money to buy even a tear rubber car.

Forget about Uber/bolt business guy... It's another man's idea, focus on your own idea/business with time it will grow to compete with Uber/Bolt and you'll be mentioned among CEOs and not among highest earning drivers, which among the two do you prefer?

Good luck bro.
wow! God bless u man for this. Energy

Nooooooo I said I learnt a lot reading from Romeo3.
I’ve not driven for a year on the platform in totality.
2019 - I drove for only 5months.
2021- start driving part time in March as side hustle. ( cos I have a car, more time and want more money)
I don’t drive every week.
I’m addicted to this thread and I don’t know why.
Yes my mentality almost got messed up, interacting with olosho, touts, fake alerts, oven, fear of robbery and police/Lastma everyday.
A young guy can easily start doing yahoo if he sees the way small boys spend money and he’s driving them.
Driving to earn a living is not easy for me, unlike you and the ants.

You self like shalayeing oh... C wo u dey shalaye dey give self

How about a 2020 corolla vs a 2020 IVM connect? It's unfair we are even using a 2006 vs 2020

Lols...it's wicked to compare these two grin
They have nothing in common, so it's easier to choose based on what u want to use it for

Good morning everyone

Pls I need ideas from experienced drivers here, Below is my situation.
So November 2019, I resigned from my monthly pay (50k) job at vi to face my business, and I have legit been grinding since then up till now, I gathered about a million naira as at April this year to buy a Nigerian used car that can be used for e-hailing, but due to unforeseen circumstances I could not achieve my plans then.
But as at now, I am close to buying a car for this hustle and I will still be doing my business cos it's mainly weekends I use for my business.
Now the issue is I have a low budget of 700k, and AV seen a car for 650k but it's a manual car and not our regular brands.
It's a Skoda Octavia....
Sound engine
Clean interior
Good gear selection
First body and very clean.
I just want to knw if the car is a good buy and if it can withstand the heat from e-hailing, also availability of parts & general advice
Thanks

Please contact this guy. He has used that vehicle before and you can get first hand information from him.

Leasing of an acre of land per year is 5k to 10k

Land preparation won't exceed 20k

Seeds purchase is valued from 90k to 120k

Drip irrigation is 300k

Other inputs will amount to 300k

If a practicing Farmer knows what he's doing... He'll reduce cost and still get a lot of harvests

Which area/state please?

Drip irrigation plus borehole, gp tank, sumor, generator/pumping machine, drips nuzzles and equipment for just 300k? Abeg come give me connect o my brother we are members of the same forumgrin I bought my 3.5kva diesel gen for 250k alone... Small gen oh not very big.

To brush an acre of land in Benin now is 10k feeding imclusive tho, cutting down of storms burning, packing, fumigation, ridges and other things never join o bros... So how will land preparation cost just 20k?

Have you ever bought a seed and after 4-7days of planting non germinate? The money and cost of labour for planting and the time is gone gone because agriculture is about timing if you you miss a planting season like you already start counting your loss but thank God for technology shall.

How about mobility? To be successful in any business especially agriculture mobility should be your No1 priority... Its just like accommodation. You need at least a motor bike to convey to and fro your farm because you can't always get a bike to take you, wait for you and bring you back to civilization from your farm. And you don't need a bike that will be breaking down just anyhow if not na inside bush you go sleep one day. I bought my bike then for N250k brand new.

Labourers are the major challenge in this line of business because you can do all the work yourself so you need experience and reliable hands but how possible can you get them many are only there to feed and suck n prey on you because once they see a young champ venturing into agriculture those locals will start thinking you've collected some billions from FG or maybe your papa na ine dangote...

In a nutshell, less than a million can only cultivate some plots of vegetables I mentioned in my previous post not even watermelon or cucumbers because you'll need staking in regards to the later.

If anyone is spending a lot of money on Agric... It should simply go to Nutrition and irrigation.

Anything more than that na Waste of money to me

Why buy staking net of 200k when you can use nylon Twine of 42k and e go still remain

There are ways to downsize cost in Agric

Yes agreed you can cut down cost by being innovative... Mind you agroprenuer is also aboit innovation so you need to be innovating in your dealings and thinking.

There are several means to staking and you'll still arrive at the same fantastic result but the only thing is some require less stress but will cost you more.

The maun thing is don't miss the main steps, time and formulae.

How much is 10 hummer buses and how much is 10 of the knock off?

Transporters have realized that even if it's a 2021 Toyota hiace, the transport fare is constant. If it costs 10k from Lagos to aba but because you bought Toyota, do you think you can justify making your fare 15k to passengers? Does it not then make more sense to buy 10 brand new knock offs than 10 brand new Toyotas?

This discussion will change when Toyota starts assembling buses here like Innoson and the rest.

That's why I said, if they have the opportunity to buy Grade Tokunbo Toyota buses like we easily get Tokunbo salon cars. For thesame prize the Brand New knockoffs are going for they will definitely go for the Grade Tokunbo Toyota. The equation changes completely when u bring Brand New Toyota into the conversation.

If the bolded is true and truely true then it's a good buy at 650k. U will do just fine if u don't have a problem driving a manual car. However, if u can wait a little longer and save a little more to get a sound automatic car for ehailing, it would be better

Can u bear and pay the price for better or u want settle for good and start cashing out? The Ball is in ur court

Mehn, you're unbelievable.

You have driven for over a year. You have been driving since the time of Romeo3 according to what you said. Is it okay for me to believe your mentality is messed up?

There is no qualifications needed for driving taxi except hunger and the fear of hunger.

the main reason i am planning doing Bolt, and also use it to raise capital to do business.

but no car yet.

What is happening to used car prices biko? From the US I mean and not even the ones here already. The prices coming from auction is unbelievable. You can hardly get a steal these days.

I like your busuness sense but some times your points are contradicting.

After reading the conversation btw you and izzuo it's clear the both of you are saying the same thing but in different language.

What izzuo means is that he will prefer to buy the brand new IVM connect for the same price your are willing to buy the 18yrs America Used Toyota because in 2yrs he must have made his capital with little and cheaper repairs since its China parts (knockoffs) but in your own case its will be a 50/50 chance since it's not a new tool so money spent on maintenance would have mitigated or extend your breakeven period to say 3yrs if you can use ir get original parts. In the other hand you're looking at the resale value as your profit margin after recouping you capital.

To me oh if given the two opportunities I'll go with the IVM connect because all brand new cars comes with a 12-24months free servicing and repairs because the company wouldn't want you the user to mismanaged the machine thereby giving them a bad review, so that is an added advantage as against the tok... So that expenses is excluded in my running cost. If driven personally like you mentioned earlier you're very sure if recouping your capital in 12months if one puts in the time... Mind you this is a brand new machine so you have you peace of mind like izzuo mentioned and if after 3yrs you feel tired using it you can swap the car with a more recent model with the company. But these are the things you can't get with a tokunbo car.

Las las na d sane thing una dey talk.

Nobe wetin still good them dey swap?
Nothing will be left of that car after 3yrs use on ehailing on rentals or fleet.
Warranty is 24months or 15,000miles whichever comes first. In ehailing, u will reach 8,000miles in less than 2months, so that warranty is of no use if u want to use d car for ehailing. Asides that warranty covers engine, gear damage and other major components that are supposed to last throughout the expected lifespan of the car it doesn't cover routine maintainance and regular wear and tear like brakes, suspension, brake pads, oil change etc. So u don't really save much because the regular routine things that u change are not covered.

So swapping is not an option
Warranty is out of the window
What is left is prayer and hope grin
We will both be repairing our cars when they spoil, we will both be making same amount,
But in the long run, when ur Connect is dead and buried, my Corolla will still be whistling.
I no even warn bring resale value cos I don't plan to sell it as long as it's still fetching the bmoney.

Thanks so much for your advice too. Car is frustrating in the sense that new issues keep coming up I spend a lot sometimes just to travel inter state leas than 300km one issue or the other. D gear is my second fear as I've changed it before so I'm kinda scared it may bring it's ugly head. My estimate for complete repair is about 400k what I need for the other business is 1.5m to give me 300k per month. cos of how traumatic the car has been I've chosen to sell it then rest for now and do the other biz. Will save and eventually get the car. Grateful for ur contribution
This your other business, hope it's not crypto business because this ROI is very mouthwatering lol

Guys see me see wahala o. I picked this lady from Omole Phase 1 to Ipaja area on Saturday. She had loads that couldn't fit in the boot. We had to put the rest in the back seat. I made her realise she would pay for the load. Like play, when we got to the destination and because she told me she didn't have enough cash on her, she dropped 500 naira and even still collected 200 back. She also bought me pop corn of 100 naira on the road. The trip was on card.

I was shocked to receive a call from Bolt today that the lady accused me of collecting cash from her even when her trip was on card.

They asked for my own side which I already told them. The Bolt agent promised to get back to her.

When u buy from private owners u can negotiate better deals.. I prefer that than auction.... And the price depends on the condition of the car
