Thank you for this. I have seen first hand where a false accusation of attempted rape almost ended the life of a young man. More worrisome was the fact that it came from a minor but thank God that the teenager in question later told the truth that she only wanted to punish him for beating her and she never expected that the matter would escalate to the extent it did.

If my kid comes complaining to me, I will obviously take his side and demand an audience with the other kid to find out the issue. Biggie or those she told should have done that. Since they didn't, it's not Maria's fault. She felt uncomfortable and had to speak up.
