1Corinthians 11:7 says For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. Why then do Catholic bishops and the Pope cover their heads? |

leofab: Both Male cover faces in the bible days . There was also a culture of honor for husbamds by women covering their faces in Public . Married women show their respect for the husband by veiling their faces . just like the wedding ring. its now an issue of culture. a woman who doesnt wear her wedding ring dishonor her husband same goes for the woman. But God has released the men from such obligation |

siofra:Jesus Christ, the New Covenant Law in the Kingdom of God never instructed any of His followers to cover or not cover their hair in any way. So anyone who wishes to follow that written in 1 Corinthians 11 vs 7 does not do so in honor of God or Jesus Christ.  God is only honored when we obey His teachings and commandments and not when we follow after our many traditions and doctrines which are instead against Him - Matthew 15 vs 1 - 14 |

Glycolite: 1 Corinthians 11 has the answeres if properly understood vs 3 has the code for the entire chapter . In Corinth married women stopped covering their hair in public which was a sign of respect for their marriage or their husband who is their head. 1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV) 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God Code 1 . Head of woman is her husband. so when hes refering to headship hes talking about husband. as a married woman ,cover your head in public . its like saying wear your wedding ring for the woman . its respect for her "head" who is her husband. its a cultural marital issue code 2 - head of man is Christ. Paul was saying men do not need to veil their faces anymore in christ . the veil has been done away in christ. This has nothing to do with wearing cap. so right now you can wear cap if you want . The veil was for the purpose of humility ans shamefacedness but that was taken away in christ. people can wear cap even veil as long as its only for fashion not for religious purpose. its not longer a sign of shamefacedness. also covering of hair was a sign of married women in public but over here women wear ring. 1 Like |
