Accident is already happening on the road that is still under construction, very unfortunate. Well am not surprised because Only on road for to and fro vehicles on high way will increase the rate of the accident And how come the driver and ass driver were no where to be found |

Oxtertee: Only In Nigeria is our level of problem solving and thinking so primitive, so agricultural, so regressive that you construct an INTER STATE highway and your solution to accidents is to install Speed breakers on a high way..an express-way! key word being "express"..... Who does that? I noticed this a lot on Oyo state roads, speed breakers on expressways...we really are animals!!!! We dont deserve Good things!! Only in Nigeria will you build an express way and people proceed to destroy the median, build over head bridges for pedestrians but people ignore them, build a roundabout but people cannot be bothered to go round and instead cut into oncoming traffic. |

perambulator: Why I mention a speed break is that there are many communities along this road and majority of the inhabitant are old people. There is a particular grandma at imagbon (the community opp NBL), she supplies fufu to canteens around the brewery, and always help her watch and cross the road any morning we are at the junction together. 1 Like |

Oxtertee: There is always a reason/excuse to do the wrong thing. The right thing in civilised societies is to seperate pedestrians from access to highways, ban pedestrians from highways and enforce the ban on pedestrians on highways through fines which itself would be a deterent to pedestrians roaming highways and bring revenue for the government. Humans are no different all over the world, we all saw how Americans behaved when there was fuel scarcity....some were buying fuel in nylon bags!!!! if you give people a chance abroad they would roam the highways but there are fines for jaywalking. The reason why those societies work is they enforce the rules. They dont say people are not obeying so let us legalise pedestrians on the streets and put speed breakers on an expressway!!!!!! Thats low hanging fruit thinking and thats our problem in Nigeria!!! If you want a society that works you have to be prepared to do things the right way!!!! |

Where is the accident naa |
Re: Fatal Accident Along Ijebu Ode - Epe Road. by sharpwriter(m): 4:43pm On Aug 13, 2021 |
yemmight:Exactly.... In my few experience of driving, I have noticed that Nigerian drivers (both educated and uneducated ) speed unnecessarily. I can be going jejely, doing 60-70km/hr(at this level, I'm already becoming aware of my speed) and the way I see some zoom past as if say na highway, you go fear. Some speed sef in between residential and inland streets and you wonder if they are mad. What discourages me most in speeding is because most of our roads may be smooth as you've said above and within few feet or meters, what you are seeing again are various pot holes and bumps. So our drivings are greatly subjected to sudden changes and manouvres which may make some lose control or destroy their tyres or shocks just because they approach with much needless speed. 1 Like |
