Because you cannot compare Klopp with Ole. And Liverpool had really quality players to boot. They had to be perfect to beat Pep and his moneybags. The previous season Liverpool garnered over 90 points and still lost the league to City.

And no, don't get it twisted, we have a very good squad but Ole doesn't trust his bench which to me is on him...If Pep played Walker every other game, you'd never rate Cancelo same with other positions at City, it's the reason why folks dread City players in the FPL (You never know who he'll select)...

As for no9s, I think it depends on how the game has changed. The way classic number 10 has entered extinction is same way I think the number 9s are going too. It's a reason why a Gabriel Jesus will bench An Aguero or A firmino will play top 9 for a top club. A reason why Ole will prefer A martial to a lukaku. I just think the game is changing away from proper 9s.

Matic is not the same as Fernandinho. Maybe in terms of age group only sha. Fernandinho lasts longer.

Rodri’s main job is to recycle possession. He does that well.

McFred’s main job is to dictate the game and be the base for the attack. They stumble through that job.

We still need to press better and the players are not as disciplined as they should be. That one is on the coach.

even though everyone was disillusioned at the manner of management from Ole, especially in the clutch games last season, the board has decided to retain and give him what they think can push the one further step.

irrespective of what Ole says in pressers, he's not deluded to know that there's a big expectation from his superiors and the fans, and this is clearly his last chance to do it.
we talk of a lack of competent DM but even if no movements happen between now and the end of this transfer window, there's enough juice in this collection to squeeze out something as it concerns silverware.

as it is, the team look moulded in a shape where outscoring the opponent is first choice. with the pace behind, there's quality to keep a high line and pressure opponents into constant long balls against Maguire.
there are strategies that can cover the weakness in midfield on a game to game basis. here's hoping Ole can remember more often that he has a squad to utilize.

on a different note, I'm expecting a big season from wan Bissaka, VDB and Greenwood.
I still think we'd finish second again but this is football, hopefully we win it
