Rose is competitive and remains a strong contender (At least considering her "semi celeb" advantage before the house) and I can't really blame her for the shipping thing.

I agree with this. Also, they have a lot of chemistry but Maria’s survival instincts are very different from Pere’s. They prefer different methods for achieving their goals.
