Whether we'll win or not isn't the question.

The question should be, have we tried to win this war?

Since the days of GEJ, the northerners have been firmly behind Boko Haram. Some northerners are only against them now because they killed Muslims. Trust me, if Boko Haram and bandits targets were southerners and Christians alone, most northerns would still be firmly behind them.

The northerns have done their best to frustrate the pseudo efforts of the government, especially this present administration.

The thing seems like a joke to me, how can you send aides to pay for ransom to bandits and tell me you don't know where they are?
You take pictures with them, have a round table discussion with them but yet, you don't know their locations?

Remember what OBJ did in Niger Delta? How he cleared those militants after having a group discussion with them? Trust me, we can pull something as easy as that off, especially with the fact that majority of these Boko Haram and Bandits have very low IQ.

There is a saying in yoruba that, if you don't play, you can't win.

As for the future of the South, we have oil, we are intelligent amongst other things.
The southern states are the best in Nigeria.
It's the safest place to be in Nigeria.
If you remove the northern affiliation and for the fact that we don't get to share revenues with the north who are much than us in terms of number of geopolitical zone, state and population, we will do very fine. We'll also easily attract foreign investors.

ALL Northerners are firmly behind them.

The Past, Present, and Future of Nigeria are ISLAM even the British Missionaries and Colonialists knew that from the beginng.

Christians are a Sizeable MINORITY in this geographical expression called Nigeria. Accept it and stop staring at UCHE face all the time. Muslim regions in Nigeria get funding and weapons from other Muslim nations as far as Turkey and Iran. they are more in population and unity than the self-sabotage South/East (with all their iPod and Oduduwa noise)

The end is inevitable thus it will come

They come for the heads of anyone who makes stupid suggestions. There's nothing invincible or special about Islamic terrorists. To suggest that they are is dumb beyond belief.

The only reason why the Taliban are easily erasing 20 years of American presence is because it is the people of Afghanistan themselves who are the Taliban.

In Nigeria, the situation is very different for so many reasons. The North isn't a monolith. The Middle Belt like Benue, Plateau, Taraba and Kogi will NEVER agree to join the core north as Jihadists. Things may look indifferent in the South, but that's because of the peculiarities of the Nigerian political system which makes politicians betray their constituencies for selfish reasons. Take away the Nigerian factor and ask Southeners to fight for their lives and freedom, and you'll have an entirely different story.

STOP assuming everyone else is as myopic and cowardly as you are.

We can't let the north fall to terrorists. You may say it's already fallen, but the truth is that things could get much worse.
There's no hope for the North

Fighting for the North is an effort in futility

At this point, the division of Nigeria will even safe more lives

I was watching a documentary today on CNN about the Talibans capture of a major city in Afghanistan. The first thing they did was to get all girls from age 12 and above for the commanders and various members to get married to and it got me thinking. The Taliban and the various terror groups in the north all share the same ideology. No amount of weapons or super intelligence can defeat this guys. I DON'T THINK YOU ARE OK, YOU ARE SICK WITH YOUR PREDICTIONI mean the USA poured in over 20 billion dollars in Afghanistan. Sent in high end weapons, trained the Afghan troops yet they still lost the war. 20 years gone, thousands of Americans dead and the war was lost.

If a whole America couldn't defeat the Taliban what is the fate of the Nigerian army in winning the boko haram war. They are even recruited into the same army and people in the south are just sitting down. Whether people like it or not. Those guys will take over the north and when they do what happens to the south. I mean people make a lot of noise on social media but we all know southern tribes aren't used to wars or warrior like in nature compared to the north that has known and fought all kinds of wars. Even if the country divides as people want it to. Will independent southern nations have the resources to fight the terror groups in the north. With Afghanistan under taliban control it will become a training and funding ground for all forms of terror group.

I have always predicted southern Nigeria to be like congo or Liberia in the future but with what's going on in the north it might be much worst than Afghanistan and Yemen put together.

This thing is very serious, southerners should open there eyes, what Nnamdi kanu has been saying is true let us divide Nigeria before this people will capture the north and take over Nigeria.
Now the north has not fallen into there hands, let Nigeria be divided now,Afghanistan is a case study, Nigeria army can't defeat bokoharam, all these ones that repented, we don't know what is the game plan.
Let us shine our eyes, before Buhari will leave us and run away.

Less than 4 million Igbos of Biafra fought against the rest of Nigeria; captured Benin and surrounded Ore and was heading for Lagos before saboteurs betrayed Biafra and turned back
Without the Yorubas and Middle Belt, Biafra would have defeated northern Nigeria within two years.

Lest you forget, if we can manufacture cars, buses, SUVs and trucks, we can manufacture armoured tanks, drones.and other weapons.
In fact, we can manufacture 1000 remote controlled combat drones that can fly from Enugu to Kaduna in three hours.

We are only concerned about the safety of the non-Muslims in the north, otherwise it would be "Operation Na Gwode Everybody", that is to programme the combat drones to neutralize every human at first sight.

Why are Boko Haram bandits and terrorists on rampage in the north?
Because, majority of northern Nigerians are COWARDS.

Which south are u talking about? Did u mean a southern Nigeria who they are not cooporated at all? So even if they is no northern in this country, southern Nigeria will keep fighting among themselves. Because there is no no unity between southeast, southsouth, and southwest. So fighting will a continue subject internally between south even there is no any other province. U better talk about how to solve south internal problem apart from general global problem.

Boko Haram and Islamic terrorism in Nigeria can be wiped out within 3 months if 5 things are done.

1. All captured and surrendered Boko Haram members should be executed.

2. Military commanders from Plateau, Taraba and Benue will lead the various units.

3. Foreign mercenaries should be brought in to lead attacks. Our soldiers will do clearance and hold gained ground.

4. Night attacks and ambushes are preferred. Night vision equipment should be provided. Boko rams don't have enough night vision equipment to go round. Surprise them at night and let the clearance forces finish them off at daybreak.

5. Arrest and jail all those involved in military procurement for the past 16 years. Use BVN to trace their assets and confiscate them.

Real battlefield commanders read these things and thank their goodness that Nairaland users are not the ones running our army ops!

All these countries are using rules of engagement and they don’t want to commit war crimes too. Let the whole world close eyes , you will see American mess that place up in minutes ...secondly , China and Russia will always want to see America commit war crimes so they can shout holy heavens down.

But when a southern Nigeria is a sovereign state , they can commit war crimes and seek international collaboration against any entity that wants to breach their national borders.

Don’t joke with America. And can’t you see Israel doesn’t give a shit about war crimes , that’s why they are still surviving till today. Touch them once and they will touch you 200 times not minding if you are hiding in children’s school or in a mosque

Oga your story is shortlived. First of Russia got her ass whooped in Afghanistan.

Second of all, USA, thoroughly dealt with Taliban, removed them from government, installed new govt etc. The next phase now is to teach Afghans to fight their own war. Which is what US would do eventually.

Thirdly, America though not invincible is a master tactician. Withdrawal from Afghanistan and subsequently allowing terrorists taking over the country would be strategic.

First, it will allow the oppressed China's Ughur region, to have direct access to a terror nation. And you know the problems in the Urghur region in China.

Secondly, Taliban can easily seize Tajikistan and Uzbekistan which are at the backyard of Russia. Bringing terrorism into China-Russia mix would be a great tool for global dominance. Sacrificing Afghanistan to achieve that aim wouldn't be a difficult decision.

Knowing that America has over 50 years experience dealing with terrorists, they have moved into the realm of using terrorists to achieve their aims. Rather than completely wiping them out. Don't forget that at the height of Iran-US crisis, there were insinuations that America wanted to activate ISIS who is arch enemy of Iran.

If the global GDP is $80tr and your country alone controls $22tr out of it, you can do a lot.

It will be very difficult for terrorists to overun the south if we remove govt interference. Because for one, they are easily identifiable compared to southern population. Secondly, the south is much smaller and less mountainous. Thirdly, we have more resources to fight a prolonged warfare than them, amongst others.
Well you constructed your argument quite well sir, I do have opposing beliefs to some of them though. Currently, the Russian and Chinese governments are top of the list among nations willing to accept the Taliban rule in Afghanistan thus making them alies. Terrorist attacks may then be planned against the U.S, its interest and alies right from Afghanistan. You still don't know the extent that these terrorists, the Chinese and the Russian federation can go to oppose the West, do you??

Their hatred for the West is a common ground for all of them, the China and Russia may even decide to directly fund the Taliban and indirectly fund every other terrorist groups in order to stage a war against the U.S, like a war via proxy. Taliban's opposition to Iran is another ball game entirely though.

The OP doesn't know anything. Who are the greatest fighters in Nigeria? The greatest fighters are not northerners. The northerners are just lucky that the British government chose to give them arms advantage over other Nigerian groups. When it comes to fighting ability, the best should be Igbos and Binis.

study the art of war properly, even the modern warfare, which is air combat finds it difficult surviving in mountainous terrain.

why do you think it was so difficult capturing and defeating Osama? those mountains are not just mountains they have trenches, dugouts and well mastered tunnels.

bin laden was sold out by one of his deputies hence his capture not even in the tunnel but when he was out of his strong hold.
