Hello guys,

This is urgent..

Please my interview is on Thursday and my sponsor just moved funds to buy goods from her foreign customers...but I still have her statement I printed to get my i20 around 22nd of illy last month...please can I take that to the embassy?.......if yes, would they verify the balance in the account

Urgent response please ....thank you all

A banker posted on quora that they don't, but they SOMETIMES send in bank statements to check if they are fake, but they can't cross certain boundaries like asking for your current bank balance or statements, the bank only confirm that what you presented is accurate at the time provided and it emanated from them

Bro, you know there is a bit of luck/God factor/ VO mercy in this visa application process. I have seen terrible transcripts get visa, and very perfect transcripts denied.

However, we should err on the side of caution and perfect our application rather than solely rely on luck.

In your transcript you stated your sponsor is an estate developer. Please stick to that; it sounds better than “he has 5 salons.”

As for the period covering 2014 to date, you went a polytechnic, and currently working with an IT Company in Ikeja. Please NO SAY YOU DEY REPAIR LAPTOP FOR IKEJA!

Burnish the truth.... make it appear nice to hear.

Repackage the transcript and upload.

Let the other folks on here have a say too.
Okay my brother thank you so much I really appreciate that.

Yes, it’s a big problem. You’d be turned back and asked to reschedule, and considering the difficulty of getting interview dates.
Take the passport photo (2 x 2 inches) then scan it and use an editor to crop until the ds-160 accepts it

Hi pals,

This information is for those planning to change status from F1 to GC after or during their study.

* Yes, marriage works but don't do it because of paper. You don't want anyone to make you feel indebted to them for the rest of your life. And most importantly, avoid marriage fraud.

* If you're confident in finding a company to file H1B for you and certain about job security. Go for it!

* The third is a route that many Nigerians with highly sought-after skills aren't taking advantage of. This is the self-petition Employment-Based (2nd preference) National Interest Waiver (EB2-NIW). With an advanced degree (Masters), verifiable work experience (references), the ability to research and spot an area where your skill would add value to the US economy (find a problem and propose a solution), then 10 years GC could be yours. Being an author of published research article(s) in your area of interest is an added advantage but not required.

The additional criteria(critical), which the petitioner would write in the form of a justification letter, are listed below. (AKA, the three prongs)
* The proposed endeavor must have both substantial merit and national(US) importance.
* You are well-positioned to advance the proposed endeavor. (You have the skills required)
* It would be beneficial to the United States to waive the requirements of a job offer and thus the labor certification.

Your problem definition and proposed solution = the Proposed Endeavor

More information can be found here ---> https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/permanent-workers/employment-based-immigration-second-preference-eb-2

I may have to write and share a detailed process with samples via a dropbox link later. However, anyone who is interested in the third option can find detailed processes and samples online with little research.

I wish everyone success.

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by viviansteph12: 1:43pm On Aug 16, 2021
I did get a rejection mail for emergency appointment but still can't check dates.

I booked for Lagos initially and applied for EA but after a long wait with no response, I cancelled and choose Abuja then I appliedforEA in Abuja.

Could it be that I've exhausted my rescheduling options?
Do I need to pay another MRV fee?
Olaoke16:

If you had requested for emergency appointment at Abuja Embassy, the reschedule option will come up immediately your EA is approved.

My case is similar, my sponsor moved chunk of the money from their account and the last statement I got was in June. My interview is next week. Is it still advisable to go with the statement issued 2months ago?

Also, the statement I have doesn't have any deposit except for an account balance that would cover my tuition, do the inflow and outflow really matter here?

Lastly, everybody's dad seems to be a "real estate practitioner" please what's the chance of a corporate person being one's sponsor not to mention that the person is my cousin too?

Thanks.

Well I had no idea what I wanted to major in. It definitely had nothing to do with my grades( Had lots of As and a couple of Bs) I'm just currently unsure of what exactly I want to spend the four years of my college studying. My reason for undeclared was to explore my options. I just want to find the right words to explain it to the VO.
However I do have a course in mind, don't want to restrict myself until I'm sure.
chigozieduru:

Hmm curious why did you apply for an uncleared major in the first place? You are the best person to know what the benefit of a particular course would be and why you selected it. What would the course do for you in the long run? If you were given liberal arts and science because of grade/academic deficit from high school you can explain to the VO and mention that once you fulfill the school's requirement you'd be able to declare a major. The course structure and contents should be on the school website so peruse that.

@ufay Must the tentative travel date be before resumption date?

ufay:
It can only be God oo.
After the switch to Abuja yesterday, putting wrong tentative date and all, I got my email today too.
My interview is August 11.
I hope to prepare well and take God's grace along.

You can fill a new ds-160 form (with abuja as the location) and then after completing, go to update profile on your cgi page and then replace the old ds-160 number with the new one you just filled. Then go back to your appointment confirmation page and print the new one that contains the updated ds-160

Hello,

I have updated my Ds-160 with new number. Please how can I print a new appointment confirmation with the new Ds-160 confirmation number?

Thank you.

I have two MSc in quite similar fields, should I hide one when applying for PhD in the US? And what are my chances of getting into the top 20 engineering/CS schools?

Bsc Compi sci(3.2/4) Asia
MSc (4.6/5) Nigeria
MSc (3.8/4) Far Asia
I also have four years of teaching experience in higher education
No paper
The strike thing in this country made me run the second MSc. When I came back to naija I completed the first one. This is how got two MS.
Some answers please

Someone said you should reapply for EA, this time try to make a compelling case. I’ve also been told that you need to sound very respectful like saying things like “Dear Honorable Ambassador”.

Lastly, you can dm me, there’s a group to check for dates in Abuja, if you’re interested, dm me.

Please kindly add my number 08061274100 to the group, thanks.

Hey guys. I’m currently in the US on a J1 visa. I’m trying to adjust my status. I have to apply for a waiver with a “statement of no objection” from the Nigerian embassy here. One of the required documents I have to submit is “release letter from sponsor”.
I email my sponsor organization and their response is attached below.
Please who has any idea of what I can submit instead or how to go about this issue ?
Thanks !!!!!!
