Sixtustony:Since you are a graduate you might as well do a postgraduate course in your chosen field. You can take up voluntary work such as a shop assistant in charity shops such as oxfam, Barbados and British heart foundation you would not be paid however it is very good for your cv and counts toward Uk work experience. You can also take up paid work but both for no more than 20 hours a week so as not to breach your visa conditions coffee shops, cinema, door to door fundraising for different causes, university Library and restaurants favour students as hours are flexible. Don’t bank on this to sustain you as it is minimum wage so very little money that would only cover your basic needs. Go online and read requirements as every university is different but most would insist on IELTS ,Gcse or functional skills. https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/knowledge-of-english Also you can search nairaland there is a student board where you can get more information. Best of luck. 1 Like |

Stanlo88: Just to add that you will need to pay for 2 tests (Day 2 & Day 8 ) in The UK. Should you wish to exit the 10 day quarantine early, you can take advantage of the Test to Release Scheme and pay for an additional test (more expensive) on Day 5. If you are negative, you can end your quarantine immediately however, you will still need to do another test on Day 8. |

thegreengooner:Awesome. Please, educate me on this Day 2, 5 and 5 test. Will the payment be made during application or before travelling or in UK? TELL more about TEST TO RELEASE SCHEME. This seems to be a way to achieve my 10 days vacation. |

Leleky: Payments for tests do not have to be made before your application. However, you need to make all payments before you will be accepted for boarding in Lagos. Day 2 and 8 are compulsory for all who are to quarantine. Day 5 test is optional (more expensive) for those who want to exit quarantine early. You will still need to pay for and take your day 8 test. IT costs more.... |

bukimireal:Documents look good to me so far.Traditional marriage isn’t recognised so your marriage certificate should be enough.Throw in a picture or two from the ceremony. Apart from your uncle doing a letter of invitation it would help if he sent a copy of his data page, brp card, proof he has a job and utility bill (not phone bill)bearing said address and such.Is he your biological uncle or Nigerian uncle who is just from the same place as you?. Good luck. |

Your can re apply immediately the reason why they called you is to make you aware that there would be a 10 days quarantine so when re applying try to make your vacation 14 days so 10 days for quarantine in the UK and you can spend the rest 4days for your tourism tht is what you need to re address Good luck ote author=lga23 post=104892201]Hi guys, Got a refusal today with this, First thing is I never got any call from them, and I also replied the email the same day they sent it to me. lga23: If you had known the rules from the beginning, u would have saved yourself this stress. Once you arrive here in the UK, you must undergo a 10day quarantine period and now you applied for a 10day Tourism Visa. Which means at the end of your quarantine period, your visa expires. That is to say you only came to the UK to quarantine yourself and go back and that was the reason your Visa was rejected. Also, according to their reply, it seems you were not reachable on phone and you were also not responding to their email and that was another reason they had to deny you the Visa. Reapply and increase your stay and drop a reachable contact and also eck your email frequently, I guess you will get it this time. Goodluck |

Good day all, big thanks to everyone who has contributed and gotten this thread to where it is now. I intend applying for UK visit Visa in October. I am currently self employed and my business has a monthly turnover/sales revenue of up to N50m. So far, I believe the major issue I’ll face applying for visa is convincing them that the money going in and out of my account is genuine and it’ll be readily available for my trip. I intend to apply for my Visa first week of October, and travel in November. I intend to apply for my Visa first week of October, and travel in November. I only just registered my business last month, and just created a corporate/business account today. So here’s is my idea; I move all my business transactions to my newly created corporate account. By October when I intend to apply, I’ll have 2months SOA on my business account , and 6months on my personal account (first 4months made up of business transactions and last 2months strictly just salary since I just created a corporate account) . I can try explain the inflow on my personal account as business , back it up with receipts/invoices and further show the transaction pattern/similarities etween my personal account and 2months old corporate account as a transition from the business being a side hustle to a fully registered business which I can back up with business registration documents, receipts and invoices. On the other hand to prove ties, I can provide documents showing; House rent receipt and agreement Landed property ownership Business space rent receipt Does this work? Please help and shed more light. |

Topnotch10: UK inflow and outflow pattern differs from the US, the first question I will ask u is apart from this your side hustle that brings this monthly turnover, do you have a permanent job in Nigeria that is fully recognized? Like a Government job or an Established Private Company. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Topnotch10: 5:34pm On Aug 17, 2021 |
OladipupoIyowun: No, I do not have any job asides this. I understand that if I had registered my business earlier and paying myself salary monthly, I wouldn’t have to worry about anything. But I didn’t find this thread early enough, so I’m trying to work with what I have. |

Hello All, Please I need help from anyone that has returned to Nigeria from the UK lately. For the fit to fly test done in the UK what is required for entry into Nigeria? Can I simply show the test results for the Covid test test done within 72 hours of traveling? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 7:34pm On Aug 17, 2021 |
You do not need to be in a hurry. Those strange deposits will be scrutinized. Why don’t you wait until you have at least 4 months of clean transactions in your personal statement where you dnt need to be explaining yourself up and down. If you are refused, you will wish you had waited. Do you have any travel history? Topnotch10: |

Hi All, I am in the UK on the skilled worker visa and intend to sponsor my wife as a dependent (we recently married). Question is the required 1 month maintenance funds for her is in my own UK account. Will this suffice, or it has to be in her personal account? Apart from the marriage registry certificate and wedding pictures, are there any other documents for proof of relationship that may be a stumbling block? Someone was mentioning that I need to write her an invitation letter and send old chats/messages/pictures. Is this necessary? Reason is we have had a distant relationship for a few years before I returned for the marriage. We dated for a few years too before leaving Nigeria. Your kind advice is appreciated. Thanks 2 Likes |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 8:35am On Aug 18, 2021 |
LtColOscarIbibo:I will answer the 2nd question. You need to attach all you can to prove he marriage is genuine. You dnt need all your chats from say 10 years ago. A few pictures, call logs, chat records etc are some things you can add |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 8:42am On Aug 18, 2021 |
bukimireal:You need to try to keep your budget within twice or 2.5 of your disposable income. So remove your expenses from your income and then know what ur disposable income is. Also make sure you state and write expressly your itinerary on your form. Each day write what you will be doing there. Also you need to have a purpose of trip. It is not enough to say your uncle is inviting you or you are going to visit your uncle, the question is why.. so answer the why factor. If this is your uncle try to show proof of relationship, establish this and then also get an invitation letter from him, his brp or british passport, his tenancy agreement and possibly account statement. In the invitation letter, your uncle must expressly state who you are to him, that you are coming to his house, where you are coming to, for how long you will be there and that he is happy to provide such and such for you during this duration and that after this trip on so and so date you will be leavin the UK.. It helps if your sponsor could attach a bank statement even if for a few months to prove his financial capability to offer this. 1 Like |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nobody: 8:46am On Aug 18, 2021 |
LtColOscarIbibo:Good morning, before you start the process there was assessment clause that you must have been living together in a relationship for at least 2 years when you apply but it is an old rule so research it. She would need tuberculosis certificate. If you are sponsored and have a CoS you can add this to her application and in this case bank statement would no longer be required But if you don’t have the certifying sponsorship from your job either you or your partner must show that you have sufficient funds to support her for the entire duration of her stay in the UK and dates within 31 days of your application. Perhaps have it in your account as she is your dependent which by extension means she relies on you. For documentation add in your proof of immigration status, accommodation which could be tenancy contract or Mortgage documents, proof of employment and something from the government like council tax. For your question about chat/messages and pictures some people include it even myself when i did British naturalisation however on the criteria check it is stated that; “Things like greetings cards, travel tickets, receipts, photographs and text or social media messages are not considered strong evidence of your relationship and are unlikely to help your application.“ This does not mean you cannot add it if you so choose.Hope this makes this a bit clearer. Cheers!. 1 Like |
