Courtesy should be demanded from both clients and vendors. Unfortunately, the scale is tilted a little against the vendors in this forum.

It was this same Michlin that was hardly given a chance when he came on board this forum. All sorts of insults, innuendos were hurled in this direction. Yet he remained dogged and proved himself.

Vendors should also profile clients (as much as it's possible) before accepting jobs from them, and deal with whosoever you choose to do business with on a personal level (pictures, information etc.). Self respect is also as good as the money.

Yes sir. Satin and silk dry fast due to very low water content.
As for the scent, the voc content would be reduced drastically bearing in mind the need to be in the building soon afterwards but the paint would have to be used within a week and won't stay long on storage.
There are several sources of the volatile organic content in the paint which are all necessary, while some could be replaced, the preservatives in it that would preserve it for storage are all voc based.

The little I know about Michlin is that he is hardworking, skillful and his job is worth every penny. He always and will always deliver.

My advice for him is to learn to select jobs. Not every client is worth the 'effort' neither the 'reponse'. Profiling of clients is very important.

How I love the internet, it does not forget! This was my initial unbias contribution to the pre-ordered doors issue. Flesh and blood did not tell me what the outcome of the matter would be if not settled to the satisfaction of both parties.

Sometimes distance is important and seeing what ur buying physically is very important especially in building material. If i had seen what i ordered for , i wont buy it and I really dislike making a mistake in my building as the marks it leaves stays forever.

The person saying he could hv bought the door .i wish u made the request early enough as I could hv sent it to u free of charge and recover my money but unfortunately the door hv been fixed on the house as project has a target to its finishing.
One sided design in a door will always hv a tacky finish as the welding marks cant be concealed perfectly.

Mistakes on projects are managed by understanding between the client and the contractor.... obviously you are not happy with the door because you felt he overcharged you, hence you don't want to shift ground..... meanwhile, the guy does not have the resources(cost) to redesign the door to your taste above all, you will wake up to see (frown or smile) the door everyday .

The statement about giving out the door for FREE show how much you detest the door.....

You should have add small money for the contractor to put a simple design which will not be too heavy on the hinges on the plane side......the aim is to achieve 80% satisfaction rather than the regret.

There is always a solution to every problem....

I hv taken it as it is but I'm just pointing out the obvious mistake . I asked for refund if possible sell the door to someone else but his response was left open with no time frame attached and also i pleaded that he finds a way to redesign the back but he said no space left for it . Anyway i hv moved on from it but that doesn't mean that i am satisfied with the job .
