How is Pere arrogant? That guy minds his words and has never insulted anybody in that House. He's upfront with his feelings, and very transparent.
While WM on the other hand, would choose to bottle up his feelings instead of getting on any body's bad book.

People are different.

PERE is Foreign oriented, an average American doesn't hide their feelings. If they feel you are a strong contestant, they would often times, create a competitive relationship with you, and sometimes, it can cause Competition induced hostility.

Take some musicians as an example, it doesn't mean they actually hate each other in real life, but just for the game. And BBN is a game.
