Is Ipob Potentially Another Typical African Regime by xolomonstrides(m): 7:35am On Aug 18, 2021 |
For a long time Africa has been marred with successive oppressive regimes characterized by; Authoritarianism Opposition to divergent opinions Forceful and violent conformity One thing that most rulers, from museveni, Kagame, biya, mubutu to the Current Nigerian President is that they all came proclaiming to be a saviour from one current oppressor or another, only for them to be worse that those they criticize. The current situation in Nigeria, give most no sense of belonging with the shutting down of opposing views, Nepotism, Lack of equity and justice as well as an arrogant disregard for the rule of law. This has escalated the momentum of agitations in the country, IPOB being of the prominent players among other agitators. My wonder is that considering the actions and methods of the aforementioned group, will they be any different from other regimes when they eventually achieve their goals? Regarding the sit at home order, did people comply out of solidarity or fear, why is it that anyone with a different opinion is usually attacked either verbally or physically?, Why did they have to resort to, beating up those who decided to come out in search of their daily bread ,burning vehicles of transporters, why the threats, bullying , coersion and victimisation? Why not show the people a feel of the paradise to come and let them buy-in naturally not because they do not want be attacked but because they believe in the future you all jointly hold dear. In conclusion, a saviour and oppressor can never be one and the same. You can only be either. I pray that as we strive to leave this frypan, may we not jump into the blazing furnace. 1 Like

Ipob is not it when it comes to behaving like civilised lots. They choose force over choice. One thing I know for sure is that u can't defeat the people wen they finally summon courage and fight back . 2 Likes |
