Some of you might want to consider training as a sterile processing technician. Surprisingly, they make good money. And you can do it as a side job.

ETA: I'm proposing this as a trade to support you while you study and get settled; not a long-term career.

justwise:

You need more than a change to survive in Portsmouth, its not really a cheap city to live in, i was unable to get a job for a while i was there though it was recession then but you will be able to get student job.

Come with money that will last you for at least 3months while you settle down and get a job

Like how much would one estimate for their first 3months before getting a job, thank you.

Good Morning,

Which of these Educational Masters are good and in demand especially if one is considering to stay after study?

1. Leadership and Management
2. Teaching and Learning
3. Special Education and Inclusion
4. Psychology

My Spouse has a degree in Economics Education and she wants to pick a "lucrative" educational masters.

Which other courses do you recommend?

Lastly, any ideas about Northumbria University? How is life in the place?

Please help a brother out everyone.

Stan999:
Good day guys, I would be needing your candid advice.

A few months ago, a friend urged me to apply to university of Hull for an MSc program. Reason been that the tution was reduced to 9k pounds for international students. I was a bit skeptical due to many reviews online about the harsh conditions around retention and student part-time student jobs. However, I applied for the fun since there were no application fees and last week I got 2 conditional offers in supply chain management and energy engineering from the university.

On a personal note, I'm more inclined to the supply chain management due to its universality in almost any industry with a focus on supply chain analytics. Energy engineering on the other hand is quite robust buh has limitations due to its reservation to just energy. I'm a self taught data analyst of 2 years with working experience in the energy sector and currently in fintech and I have been able to save up N3,500,000 for this journey. Clearly from previous posts, this won't suffice. I can foot up to the expected 34% tuition on arrival and hope I'm able to spread the remaining 66% across the 4th and 7th months by engaging in jobs.

My big question is how REALISTIC can 2k pounds be made in 3 months as a student? What are the likely penalties of defaulting?

On a lighter note, I have seen some interesting Supply chain analyst roles in UK from LinkedIn and the required skills are what I currently use for analyses in my job here. If you have an idea of the job market apart from what online searches have, do share!!

Furthermore, the resumption date is September 20th and I would really be grateful if someone outlines the next steps for me to take as I'm yet to accept or defer the offer. I'm a bit skeptical if I would be able to complete the processes on time and would be grateful to know how feasible it is to conclude all processes and travel a week before the resumption date.

Thanks in anticipation

Can I PM you?

I have 10 years working experience in the field. I'm still searching for a school. For now, it's only Cambridge but they are above my league.

Overthemoonman:
Good evening everyone... My post would be a bit long
To start with, I don't even have a passport because I never thought I could even have a chance to leave this country...Thank God recently I got in touch with my father's elder brother that lives in U.K, that I never knew before or even about his existence (my dad died when I was still in primary school). Thanks be to God, he has been helping my mum and I financially.

I am a graduate of Public Administration (2:1). He has tried to use his contact in Nigeria to get me a job but all to no avail. All these while, I never showed any interest of coming to UK (I don't want to be too forward)... So yesterday, we got talking, he asked me if I am interested in coming over, which I told him yes... So he told me, the easiest way to come in here legally is through school... So he suggested me coming for my M.sc

So my questions are these

How easy is it to get admission to a school over there
What course and university would you advise I apply
How am I to go about the admission application process (though he said something about September and January admission)
Generally, what do I need to know (I have gone through this thread but I am confused with so many things here..) I would be glad if someone can explain some things I just need to know...

Also, when it comes to payment, will he have to be sending the money to me or he will be the one to be doing it himself over there..

I have no idea how all these visa things work... I never believed I could ever have a chance to leave the country reason why I never bothered myself to research about these stuffs.

Thank you very much.

Greetings house.

I studied technical education in school but have years of experience in digital marketing and its related professions like SEO and others.

I plan to apply for Master's degree in digital marketing or digital media for Jan 2022 section.

Pls, how viable is the digital marketing profession or digital media jobs out there, and which one of the two courses do you think is okay in terms of employment opportunities and future perspective.

Thanks.

Interesting, please note this is not the official government scheme and the interest rates are exorbitant.

But let us know how you get on with them if you decide to apply.
