It's no longer news that Yoruba language is the most recognized Nigerian language in the international community. I was catching up on 'The Blacklist' series and surprisingly in the first episode of the second season, the General Yaabaari supposedly from Douala, Cameroon was speaking a combination of pidgin English and Yoruba with his lieutenant. The transcript is thus:

GENERAL: Ehn, you dey, you dey always dey do am ehn? Si apoti yi! (Why are you struggling with this? Open the box!)
LEUITENANT: General mo'n tiraka (General I am trying my best)
GENERAL: Ma tiraka, si apoti yi! (Don't try your best, just open the box!)

****************************************************

LIEUTENANT (to 'Red'): Si apoti yi (Open this box)
RED: Well now you're being shortsighted
LIEUTENANT: Maa pa e danu, so gbo mi? ( I'll waste you, do you hear me?)
RED (to Yaabari): Tell him to put the gun down.
LIEUTENANT: Mi o ba e sere o, si apoti yi joo, maa pa e danu joo! (I ain't joking c'mon open this box or else I'll just waste you!)

*Yaabari shoots his lieutenant*
