No... But we were forced to take their basic courses in the university then... So many private universities partnered with New horizons and increased our tuition cos of their partnership... Laslas na rubbish.... And I have about 3 friends who took certifications from them as well... They paid huge amount of money for what they were already taught in school... ApTech is the best IT training and certification firm in Nigeria for now.... My brother took some training from them after university... He's now working as a cyber security expert in Canada...

I'm not into IT... I work at the Russian embassy.... I have a brother who got certifications from ApTech and couple of friends who did as well and their experiences were top notch... I'm not trying to demarket New Horizons but the truth is ApTech is better in all ramifications... Besides no be my money OP go use obtain the certificate... I only offered a piece of advice.. If you want to learn Cyber security, no be for new horizon! Except you want to end up wasting your money. Back then na we student for CEH/LPT dey teach our instructor. Imagine an instructor creating a CEH Lab setup on the last day of the training, something he ought to have created at the commencement of the class.

If you were lucky to work for most multinational classes like mtn, Etisalat etc new horizon have coporate classes where a foreign instructor would give teach you firsthand handson training

Even if you have 8years experience in any of the I.T sectors, you're automatically screened out if you don't have a degree.

I am presently recruiting for Backend Developer, U.S based only, and a bachelors degree is a most.

You can study for cyber security, while also doing a part-time degree. But trust me, nobody wants to hire someone without B.sc anymore, except handy man jobs.

Don't let anyone deceive you, 97% of American companies now require a bachelors degree for I.T jobs, I am not talking of freelance jobs, I mean permanent staff positions.

Mind you, Cyber security requires certifications, this certifications are quite expensive.

I am a recruiter, and I am speaking from experience.

P.S, I am not based in Nigeria.

That situation of jam packing students in a class is a general menace in Nigerian academic institutions exception of private schools.... visit UDUS or ABU ZARIA 100level classes.. for reference or ask people in these two prestigious universities

As long as you have a degree, you can build whatever career you want on it. See your degree as a dough for making pizza. The basis to making any pizza is the dough, once you have the dough, then you can have any flavour and type of pizza you want on it.

Having a bachelors in Economics is great, going into CS or I.T from there gives you an edge.

Please, in whatever certification you choose, please stick to one and be a monster in it. Don't try to know everything at once. Once you pick one, stick to it and perfect it. Then you can start playing with others.

Its very lucrative honestly. Very very lucrative, however, try to know networking before proceeding (network from scratch to advanced implementation) That will help you greatly.

The journey to Cyber-security is tough, boring and technical. You have to love it to finish the courses.
