Kyari has loads of infractions and pending cases against him of which he is very much guilty. He should should be summarily dismissed even based on this case alone for his connection with criminals and the battered image of the Nigerian police. That's if there's any image left.

Have some sense.

If you had some sense like you said... You would know each Infraction of the police act as been given appropriate punishment according to police service act, police rules and regulations, and police ethics books.... They can't suddenly change punishment just to please Ipob and FBI

Sentiments apart on what grounds were they going to dismiss him over?

You don't just hand people sack letter without going through due process

If a Civil Servants commit an infraction appropriate punishment is stated in the Civil Service act

If a Police officer commits an infraction appropriate sanction and punishment is stated in the police service act

In the case of Abba Kyari his only probable infraction is unlawful detention of Vincent for more than 48 hours without a court order

You can't hold him on bribery allegations when non of his BVN Account was used to receive suspicious fund or any cash traced directly to him
.

so what is d punishment for unlawful detention of vincent according to d police service act?

But you are the sentimental one here.

No dey quote law when you no understand.

You talked about due process. Did you not read that a panel was set up to investigate the matter? Do you not know that as a rule he must appear before the panel to defend himself? Do you not know that the police just like the army have what they call orderly room trial? The panel was set up to investigate the entirety of the matter and give him the opportunity to defend himself. Have you not read the he hired lawyers to represent him? If further actions are needed it is within his rights to defend himself by every legal means possible, seeing that he is a senior police officer.

His BVN you said. Those police people who extort money from Dan go drivers on the road, do you not notice that they have agents who collect such money on their behalf? Which policeman, wanting bribe, will ever use his BVN account? Wetin na bros?

By the way, the extra judicial killings of which certain Nigerians have accused him and SARS of, did he give such murdered people the opportunity to defend themselves in such a manner as he has been given now?

Look, you wait and see as the events unfold before drawing your conclusion.

Children of satan won't like this news, some of them are already in a state of panic attack shouting fulani, northern this and thatgrin grin

At the end the trend will pass away for another buhari bashing thread

So demoting an officer for collecting bribe to deny the fundamental human rights of a citizen for 1 month is fair trial according to you? Most likely you are from the same tribe religion or profession or social group of Anna Kyari. Nigerian look at issues of justice and law from base sentimental prism than from natural justice.

So it is stated in the ethics book that when an officer obstructs justice, abuse his office and undermine the Nigerian police he should be demoted?

Shameless country. You keep parading petty criminals but this man Kyari has demonstrated an incapacity to show integrity, but here you are talking of retaining him in the Force.

It is in this little but fundamental issues that those who can reason must now understand that Nigeria is gone; there was once a country.

Once again the personification of government rises to the fore. The integrity of the foremost law enforcement institution is being sacrificed on the altar of pecuniary interests. Tomorrow they will be aghast that well meaning Nigerians and the world at large views them in such poor light.

For a government that has vaunted its anti-corruption credentials we are yet to see who will be made an example of this stand and it has become a sad tale to see yet another opportunity carelessly bypassed.

The choice to destroy themselves is fully theirs.

You are the one being sentimental here. A policeman was paid to deny the fundamental human right of another citizen and you are here belching "on what grounds were they going to dismiss him over?"

You don't just hand people sack letter without going through due process
The case is going through due process. If he was found to have taken bribe to deny the fundamental human right of another Nigerian, he should not only be dismissed, he should be tried and jailed.

If a Civil Servants commit an infraction appropriate punishment is stated in the Civil Service act
If a Police officer commits an infraction appropriate sanction and punishment is stated in the police service act
Agreed. Collecting bribe is a serious offense on it's own, collecting bribe to lock up another Nigerian is a more serious crime. Collecting bribe to lock up a Nigerian to facilitate a crime Husspuppi informed Kyari that he needed to keep Chibuzor out of circulation to stop him from busting his crime) is the most grievous offense. Chibuzor was only release 1 month later after Kyari himself appealed to Hushpuppi to allow him release chibuzor on health grounds.

False. All that's needed to nail Kyari is to establish the relationship between Kyari and the account holder and to establish the relationship between hushpuppi and the account holder. This one you are forming lawyer for Kyari. Even Kyari has not denied his involvement in connecting hush puppi to the account holder.

Read the report to understand how deep Kyari is into Hushpuppi's scam before coming to defend him like a suicide bomber defending Mohammed.
