You need a new I-20 that indicate when your program is starting.

Good evening house please if I get a visa approved this month and decide to defer my admission to spring what happens to my.visa? Does it remain valid or will I have to get another i20 and reapply for a visa again?

Taking vaccine has nothing to do with your interview at the embassy. Just go with a face mask.
nues012:
If I haven’t taken vaccine, can it contribute to denial at embassy, if the question is asked?

All you need to do is get a new I-20 for Spring 2022 before your interview date for September and you will be good. Speak with the school about deferring, state the reason for deferring is cause of immigration (embassy interview schedule) and that your Visa interview is in few weeks. They should issue you a new I-20. Make sure you inform then that the new I-20 requested is urgent.

Hello everyone, I need your help with a situation. The person in question has a masters in the UK and returned to Nigeria. Then on trying to return to the UK for a Ph.D, he got a denial. The denial was on the ground of false bank documentation and issued a 10-year ban. Now, this time around, he has been admitted to a US school for a PhD, and have the right bank documentation. How would the UK refusal affect their US visa application? Would it affect this at all? Or would the VO consider this a fresh case?

If you're going for a MSc, you'll definitely be asked.. Where you work currently? When talking about what your sponsor does, don't just say he's in charge of a company that drills borehole.. You need to know if the VO understand what it means.. Also, do you have a Thesis for your program
mikeljims:
Happy Sunday everyone,

Me: I am going for Masters in Computer System Technology with Concentration in Data Science

VO: (Looks at my DS-160) OK. So what do you currently do in Nigeria.

Me: I currently teach in Catholic School, Our Lady's International Secondary School, where i teach Economics and Statistics.

VO: When did you Obtain your Bachelor of Science

Me: 2019

VO: So what have you been doing since then

Me: After my B.sc i went for my compulsory NYSC where i worked as a Teacher at Kizito Comprehensive Secondary School, Akwaibom. After my NYSC i got employed in a Catholic School where i currently Teach Economics and Statistics.

VO: I see you have a Scholarship of .... Who will pay for the remaining

Me: My father

VO: What does your Father Do?

Me: He is a Major distribution of stockfish and has 3 warehouses of Stock fish.

VO: What do you plan to do after you complete your Studies

Me: I plan to return to my country to apply for the position of Data Analyst in a reputable Company like Nigeria National Bureau of Statistics or the Central Bank of Nigeria. I plan to work with them for a while and establish my own firm where i will work as a Data Science Consultant, i will help Companies in running business and data analysis and make better business policies, predictions and decisions.

She returned my passport, and issued me a green slip and Said sorry you do not qualify now, i can apply later
One red flag here is you're going to a Masters in computer science, but your current employment is not related to it. So why are you going for such MSc? Secondly In stead of saying your dad distribute stock fish, you make it more appealing. The VO might not know what stock fish. Let me know if you need additional help preparing for your next appointment.

The US and UK do share immigration and visa information with one another. One option would be to appeal the 10 year ban with the UK. Regardless, there would have to be transparency from henceforth so the person should give a shot with the US but onward only use correct documentation.

Thank you very much for your response. I thought the same too, I just wasn't sure about the outlook on their US application. The time to appeal has passed, I think, as this happened around 3 years ago. Thanks once again.

I think the VO got the wrong impression that’s why s/he asked, “ what have you been doing?”

Put your answer across, straight and simple: You have been working with Catholic school as an Economics and statistic teacher.

Secondly, A high school economics teacher going for an MSC in computer science is a bit odd. VO might think they are both unrelated. And again this MSC establishes “no ties” to your current profession. It kind of shows your immigrant intent.

Stating that your sponsor is a fish monger is not really the best way to present your sponsor’s status to a foreigner who does not know That stock fishes are worth money in this part of the world.

Repackage and shoot again... you might hit bull’s eye.

I sent u a mail. Can u help me with how best to state what my sponsor does? And how can i modify my application to suit my current employment and establish a tie?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Enick: 6:31am On Aug 30, 2021
Are you saying it is usually an issue and quickest way of refusal if your current employment does not match or related to course you intend to undergo in your master degree?

Alright, thanks. I have noted these points.

As regards the thesis; for a PSM master’s degree, I’ll be required to submit an internship and project report rather than thesis. So, no I don’t have a Thesis.

Me: Good morning

VO: Good morning, place your fingers there for me.

Me: Alright.

VO: Pass me your i-20, passport and DS-160.

VO: Of course. So, I see you are going to the University of Arkansas for your masters.

Me: Yes, masters in Mechanical Engineering.

VO: Alright, what did you study in your undergrad?

Me: Same Mechanical Engineering, here in Nigeria.

VO: I see you were here June 1st with another course of study and another school?

Me: Yes, my plan was to take the rehabilitation counseling online and after my admission i was given a 50% GA with a condition to resume on campus for the GA to be valid and reflect on my porter by then other schools i applied to with my main area of specialization said the is currently no funding. So when i came to the embassy i could not demonstrate how it relates to my undergraduate i was denied and two weeks after i got another offer in my undergraduate course with a tuition waiver. So i decided to come back, maybe later do the rehabilitation counseling online after my return to Nigeria.

VO: What do you do currently?

Me: Am into maintenance and configuration of point of sale terminals with Zenith Bank

VO: how many schools did you apply to?

Me: i applied to 4 schools of which are UA, MTSU UALR and SCSU. I got admission from 3

VO: why this school?

Me: outside the graduate assistantship which covers my tuition, I was fascinated by the current research in the department by Dr. Andrew Wright which is Mechatronics Design which align best with my future career goal.

VO: Alright. What will this program do for you?

Me: This degree from the US will give me an in-depth practical skills which will in turn place me in a very competitive positive in the Engineering Design industry. After the program am coming back to Nigeria to take a research assistant position with NADDC national automobile design and development council here in Abuja.

VO: cuts in.. is that a federal government agency

Me: Yes. The sore aim is to initiate, recommend, supervised and regulate policies and programmes for a locally manufactured vehicles and it's components. Now we have just lunched electric cars in Nigeria.

VO: What's your research interest

Me: Mechatronics Design and i will be working with Dr. Andrew Wright

VO: Alright. Tell me about your study plan

Me: the program is for two years and i will be taking a 34 credits load, also i will be taking 9 credit this semester of which the courses are advance thermodynamics, Mechanical Vibration and Hear transfer.

VO: Who is paying for your trip

Me: I have a tuition waiver with a stipend but the deficit will be handled by my uncle

VO: Where does he live?

Me: Benin City, here in Nigeria.

VO: what does he do?

Me: he is into sales of industrial building equipments and a major distributor of bua cement

Good afternoon,
How many weeks after your denial were you able to book another appointment. I am trying to get an appointment a week after I was denied in Abuja but it is saying no appointment date available. I want to know if I should wait longer or if there's a problem I need to call the embassy to fix.

AydotNX:
NEVER GET DISCOURAGE ON THIS JOURNEY, JUST REMAIN FOCUS.
3rd attempt at Abuja on August 24 gave me the long await VISA APPROVAL

After my rejection on June 28, I reapplied and available date was December 15. I deferred till Spring 2021.While wait for updated I-20, I keep checking available dates and re-applying for EA. EA was rejected 3 times at ABUJA from July- August 15,2021.On August 16 EA was APPROVED and I changed to September 24 with the hope that I can still make fall 2021 or just wait till Spring 2022. On August 21 I requested for another EA and it was approved within 25 minutes. Available dates was August 24 from September 24, I could not pick the date. It was so close and I stay in Lagos while interview is Abuja. (Friday 21 is not far from Tuesday 24) .After consulting my friends and wife, I picked August 24. Monday night I enter Abuja, after serious prayer and fasting.
10.AM with a young white lady.
V.O : I see you are going to Eastern Michigan UNI. with 100%G.A to for a doc. degree in Eng. Tech.
Me: I said yes ma and i completed the statement by mentioning my area of conc.
V.O : what will you do after this?
me: I will return to Nig. to take the position of the country manager in R&grin in my company
V.O: SHE checked where i work in her system and mentioned it.
me: Yes ma.
v.o: Is your wife travelling with you?
ME: No, she enjoys her career here in Nig. she works in an oil n gas firm( I mentioned the name) as Professional accountant and she has given her support and consent to start the program.
V.O: your VISA will be approved.
ME: I was shocked, just like that. All the questions i prepared for have not been asked. I tried to pay attention to what she was saying after getting the white paper but i did not hear much other corvid 19.... restriction.
I was crying that wao...... this is God. People taught I was rejected. Mean while i dressed very very causal and people were actually looking at me that do i really come for interview. Thank God for everything. This is just to encourage someone, don't give up until you hit the target.

See you at the top.
