5,000 Spectators To Watch Super Eagles Vs Liberia Clash In Lagos


The Confederation of African Football has approved for the Nigeria Football Federation to have only 5,000 spectators at next week’s FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The NFF originally applied to have 12,000 spectators at the venue.

“As it is known, we would like to reiterate that the CAF and FIFA covid-19 match protocols clearly state that all matches must be played behind closed doors. Nonetheless, CAF analysed and assessed your request from a medical, stadium requirements compliance, and safety & security perspective in your venue. Accordingly, a decision has been taken to exceptionally allow the presence of 5,000 spectators in the aforementioned match,” CAF wrote in the letter signed by Raul Chipenda, Development Director.

The encounter will kick off at 5pm Nigeria time.


The Super Eagles will face the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in their match day two fixture on Tuesday September 7 at the Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena on the island of Mindelo.

Qatar 2022 WCQ: Ndidi, Iheanacho, Iwobi Two Others Arrive Eagles Camp


Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi are among the five players who have arrived the Super Eagles Eko Hotel camp, Lagos, ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde, Completesports.com reports.

This was disclosed on Monday by the Eagles media officer Babafemi Raji.


According to Raji, the other two players who hit camp alongside the trio are Adekunle Adekunle Adeleke of Abia Warriors and Daniel Akpeyi of Kaizer Chiefs.


He revealed that the five players got into camp on Sunday and will be joined by other invited players today.


The Eagles are drawn in Group C with Cape Verde, Liberia and Central Africa Republic.

They will host Liberia on matchday one inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Friday, September 3rd and face Cape Verde on Tuesday September 7th.

Meanwhile, Brentford new signing Frank Onyeka has been ruled out of the qualifiers after testing positive for coronavirus.

2022 W/C Qualifiers: Etebo, Omeruo, Uzoho Arrive Lagos, 11 Players Now In Camp


Super Eagles came alive on Monday afternoon following the arrival of six more players ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde, reports Completesports.com.

Oghenekaro Etebo, Kenneth Omeruo, Francis Uzoho, Chidera Ejuke, Kingsley Michael and Henry Onyekuru
all stormed the team’s Eko Hotel camp on Monday.


The quintet of Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi , Alex Iwobi , Daniel Akpeyi and Adekunle Adeleke were the arrivals in camp.

The latest arrivals increased the number of players in camp to 11.

The three-time African champions are scheduled to play the Lone Stars at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Friday, before facing the Blue Sharks four days later at the Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena , Mindelo.
