lessonotes: Hello Investors,
I need a honest advise. Is it more profitable to invest in the Nigerian Stock Exchange (via mytradebook.com, meristem or Arm) or American Stock Exchange (via Passfolio, Bamboo etc)?
I have been monitoring the markets for a while now, and it seems the Nigerian stock exchange listed companies share prices have very minimal daily movements as compared to their American counteparts.
For example, In 1 year, there is a stock in the US called ROKU https://www.investing.com/equities/roku, it moved from $158 USD to $358USD as we speak, but the same can't be said of ABC Transport https://www.reuters.com/companies/ABCTRAN.LG/charts or VERITASKAP - https://cn.reuters.com/companies/VERITASKAP.LG/charts
Even Facebook - FB https://www.investing.com/equities/facebook-inc from $251 in September 2020 to $363 in August 2021 Chipolte Mexican Grill - CMG - https://www.investing.com/equities/chipotle-mexican-grill-inc from $1,220 in 13th Sept. 2020 to $1,920 in Aug 2021 not to talk of Netflix, Nvidia etc
My point is it seems the American markets have good daily movements than the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Kindly prove me wrong? Is it wise to invest in the NSE or the American Stock Exchange.
I know the NSE might have good daily movers, kindly advise which ones please; you can add a disclaimer to your picks since it won't constitute a financial advise.
Also please share your experience using the Investment Apps (Passfolio, Bamboo, Meristem or Arm Invest). I have used some local players and I must confess, after I sold the stocks and waiting for 2 days from the Central Clearing House, i got my funds plus the profit. Is it wise to use the foreign players like Passfolio, how easy is it to withdraw. Also exchange rate stuff when funding the foreign players, on Passfolio funding via Flutterwave is $1 = NGN522.
Thanks. |

Why does a country print more money? The short answer is inflation. Historically, when countries have simply printed money it leads to periods of rising prices — there's too many resources chasing too few goods. ... Spiralling prices then were more to do with the punishing reparations payments than money printing but it illustrates the problem. |

Seems like it increases by at least, 1 dollar each day. At this rate, it will exceed 600 naira to 1usd before December. I've been changing my naira to usd and just keep in a domiciliary account. But I'm being careful, make Dem no come tomorrow and say that you can't access USD. That's what is holding me back somhow. The way the country is going is actually scary. 3 Likes |

Thanks. NSE is a burial ground while Nigeria economy is on autopilot USD now #527 and heading to N1000. To avoid the impending doom your best bet is to invest in NYSE and keep your life savings in USD. Thank me later. 7 Likes |

We all know that things are not going smoothly in Nigeria, lots of challenges in every sector. But Nigeria has a way of disappointing those that have always predicted doom on her.
Nigeria's economy just recorded five percent growth in the second quarter of 2021, I am baffled nobody even shared the news here. Lets assume the news was a negative one, or Nigeria slumped into another recession, many would have shared it here without hesitation.

"Those who wants to reap the benefit of this great nation must bear the fatigue of supporting it" I definitely don't think Nigerians, when they think about it, want doom for Nigeria. As bad as it is, its home. But Nigeria's rulers definitely want doom for Nigeria, from the way they act irresponsibly and incompetently and Nigerians too appear to want doom for Nigeria, by the way they sit back and watch and support its rulers acting irresponsibly and incompetently. So ultimately, it is difficult to see anything good happening in Nigeria anytime soon, or any time at all. Good quotes are fine-sounding and all very well, but make no difference to the reality on the ground - Nigerians and the Nigerian government are killing Nigeria. 14 Likes |

"Those who wants to reap the benefit of this great nation must bear the fatigue of supporting it" Wise words from a good fellow. Donbrig you have said it all. A lot of nigerians don't know that it's their total economic activities that decides nigeria economy. Many nigerians want dollar to come down but they're encouraging everyone to convert their money to dollar. How on earth is naira ever going to appreciate. Those encouraging people to invest in dollar have already invested in dollar, and just praying for naira to depreciate further. Just like those who invest in cryptocurrency will do so that their money will grow 6 Likes |

That huge amount would have provided the much needed FX, jobs and grown our nascent tech-economy but it was given to foreigners. Rwanda and Southafrica used their youths to provide their e-currency solutions,so what stops Nigerians from doing same.
