What if you have a new Sevis number from another school? Won't you update your Ds160 to reflect the Sevis number?

Do VO’s have access to old answers on the DS 160?

I think it's the one reflecting on your application/appointment page which currently reflects your most recent information.

NEVER GET DISCOURAGE ON THIS JOURNEY, JUST REMAIN FOCUS.
3rd attempt at Abuja on August 24 gave me the long await VISA APPROVAL

After my rejection on June 28, I reapplied and available date was December 15. I deferred till Spring 2021.While wait for updated I-20, I keep checking available dates and re-applying for EA. EA was rejected 3 times at ABUJA from July- August 15,2021.On August 16 EA was APPROVED and I changed to September 24 with the hope that I can still make fall 2021 or just wait till Spring 2022. On August 21 I requested for another EA and it was approved within 25 minutes. Available dates was August 24 from September 24, I could not pick the date. It was so close and I stay in Lagos while interview is Abuja. (Friday 21 is not far from Tuesday 24) .After consulting my friends and wife, I picked August 24. Monday night I enter Abuja, after serious prayer and fasting.
10.AM with a young white lady.
V.O : I see you are going to Eastern Michigan UNI. with 100%G.A to for a doc. degree in Eng. Tech.
Me: I said yes ma and i completed the statement by mentioning my area of conc.
V.O : what will you do after this?
me: I will return to Nig. to take the position of the country manager in R&grin in my company
V.O: SHE checked where i work in her system and mentioned it.
me: Yes ma.
v.o: Is your wife travelling with you?
ME: No, she enjoys her career here in Nig. she works in an oil n gas firm( I mentioned the name) as Professional accountant and she has given her support and consent to start the program.
V.O: your VISA will be approved.
ME: I was shocked, just like that. All the questions i prepared for have not been asked. I tried to pay attention to what she was saying after getting the white paper but i did not hear much other corvid 19.... restriction.
I was crying that wao...... this is God. People taught I was rejected. Mean while i dressed very very causal and people were actually looking at me that do i really come for interview. Thank God for everything. This is just to encourage someone, don't give up until you hit the target.

well from what people have been saying on here and on the GRE thread https://www.nairaland.com/1832477/how-achieve-high-scores-gre/583#105357715 I think the Manhattan prep materials is good for Quant plus the magosh videos, for varbal people have recommended Keplan, then you download the Magosh 1000 word list, finally you keep testing your preparedness with the official ets books for Quant and Verbal, you can email me let me send you the ones I have on Google drive, all the best brother

Guys please I am preparing for my Interview, I need some insights on where to improve some of my responses.

Interview questions and answers

Q. What is your purpose for traveling?
A. My purpose of traveling is for a masters degree in Information Systems and specializing in business Intelligence systems with the University of Colorado Denver

Q. What is your highest degree qualification?
A. My highest degree is a Bachelors in Economics in Central University Ghana

Q. When did you finish your BSC?
A. I finished my Bachelors at the ending of 2017

Q. What have you been doing since then?
A. After my graduation I completed my NYSC, and have worked for ESBY Valin Limited as a Marketing representative since then, I have also learned to code and i am working on a startup with a small team

Q. How many schools did you apply to?
A. I applied to 3 schools

Q. What do the schools I applied to have in common?
A. They all offer a specialization in Business Intelligence systems

Q. What school are you going to?
A. I am going to the university of colorado denver

Q. Where is the school located?
A. The school is located on Larimer street, Denver, Colorado

Q. Where are you going to be lodging?
A. I will be staying on the school campus

Q. Why University of Colorado Denver?
A. Apart from the fact that they offer a specialization in Business Intelligence systems, I picked this school because I will be given the opportunity to learn from some of the top tech companies in the US as they have partnered with the school to educate students through various events. I would also have the opportunity to learn from various students from different backgrounds.

OR

B. If you look at some of the biggest tech companies in the world like Amazon, Facebook, Google, and others, business analytics is a huge part of their company. They are able to use data to predict people's decisions or make reasonable forecasts, all because of data. I would have the opportunity to learn from them as the school hosts regular events with them so students can learn about these things. I have been able to attend some of these events online and learned about some things like wearable tech and I feel when I resume, I will be able to learn a lot more.
Q. Why can't you do this program in your home country/ Why the USA?
A. I noticed that some of the schools in the US like the one I will be attending, hold regular events and seminars where students learn from some of the business leaders in the tech industry. This type of structure is not available in Nigeria. And i would also love the opportunity to learn from different students from different tech backgrounds

Q. What are the courses you will be offering?
A. Database management, Analysis modeling, programming with python, Business intelligence, Project management, Network designs, security, and privacy

Q. What are your plans after graduating?
A. I have two plans, on the short run because of the value a US degree has in Nigeria, I would be able to work with some multinational companies like KPMG or Deloitte as a Senior Business analyst, and in the Long-run, I Plan to create my own tech company and I know I will be successful because of the knowledge i would have the tech industry is still at its early stage in Nigeria.

Q. Do you have funding in the school?
A. No, it will be fully funded by my sponsor

Q. How will you be paying for the program?
A. The program will be fully funded by my mother (full name), who has been my sponsor since birth.

Q. What does she do for a living?
A. She owns a business that deals with logistics or transportation of containers for companies. She is also a civil servant.

NOTE. If I am asked for my bank details of the sponsor
A. This is the bank statement. Also, this is not a salary account, but her savings and investment accounts planned for my masters

Q. What is your marital status?
A. I am single

Q. Do you have any plans on coming back? or if you are granted this visa how are we sure you will return?
A. Yes, I have several reasons to return. All of my close family members are in Nigeria like my mother I have lived with for 26 years and my sisters, Father, and other family members.
Also since I am the first child and only son of my mother it is my responsibility to take over her business, which is the haulage company I have mentioned, which has provided a lot for us.
And lastly, I would like to use the knowledge to improve and grow a website I am personally working on with a small team that combines tech with the real estate sector.

Q. Have you traveled before?
A. Yes, I have been to about 7 countries

@Lagosismyhome @fairheart @walspring @Shuayb0
Hello, good morning.
How was your interview?
Can I ask you some questions regarding CU Denver?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Manuelmarvyy(m): 4:13am On Sep 01, 2021
NigerianScholar:
To be honest, your answers did not make.

Where are you going to? - Idaho. Really?? You are a student going to school, not the entire state.

Why are you going to Idaho? - Because that's where my school is. This answer just shows laziness and nonchalance. It's also leaning towards being rude.

The VO didn't seem convinced(Even me, I am not convinced). Your "why you chose the school" answer was long and did not have anything of substance.

The VO will likely ask you "you were denied so so so time, what do you think has changed that makes you eligible for this visa."

I advice you to join a group or community , construct a transcript and do a number of mock interviews with them to prepare you.

I'm not attacking you, just my honest criticism.
Do you know any community in mind for such mock interviews?

Hello brother, congratulations on your visa approval.
I'd like to know if you mentioned to the visa officer, about the idea of using a loan scheme to facilitate your plans to study in the US.?

I sent you a PM, if you reply, then I could get to ask you some questions that could help me in my own plans of studying in the US.
You can mention that you gonna be getting a M-power loan to fund your program...but you have to tell her how you intend to repay the loan. Whatever you’re going to say should make sense or better still your employer will fund your trip if that’s what you selected on your i20 and if you’re actually employed.

Good luck
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Powerpaul: 5:40am On Sep 01, 2021
Yes it’s possible...if you have a good undergraduate result and you have learnt how to write professors of your program for funding.
Professors usually have funding for research assistants, teaching assistants and so on. It’s about sending them cold emails. The worse that can happen is to either tell you the funds is exhausted or you do not qualify or some other reasons but do send emails. You can search “how to send cold emails on twitter.”
You can also watch videos of Ann Amuta on YouTube.
bidemialade43:
Hi guys, please is it possible to get a fully funded or 50% tuition fee waiver without writing GRE or Any English language test??

This is inconsequential. I've seen a lot of people put self even with full funding with their visa approved. Even searches online wouldn't give a strict answer to it.

Thank you.

I'M on a group with a laddy who applied for f1 and f2 for her husband and son. before the interview started, she asked the vo if she can say something then went ahead to tell the VO the only reason shes applying for f2 for her husband is because of unavailability of b1/b2 dates and she needs him to come along with her to help her settle in before returning to his business.. and she got the visa for all of them.
also note that the husband had US travel history so that may have been a factor as well.
pray and follow your heart i think. All the best
