I got to understand that y'all in the south are your own problem. Come to Benin, the drainages are refuse ground. In the north, tenant and house owners take turns to clean the drainage outside their building. I didn't know anything about flood until I left the North. I’ve been looking for a way to get the attention of the public to our plight. My street is constantly flooded when it rains in Asaba. People’s houses get flooded with waters and cars get damaged. We have tried severally to get the attention of relevant authorities to help us but we are not successful. We spoke to the Catholic Church in my street to help but they couldn’t. We met with the traditional ruler and asked for help still nothing happened. We are tired, distraught and sad and our investments lose values on a daily. The water moves refuse dumps into our houses. Our children get sick. The photos included here were taken 2 days after rainfall. It’s a lot worse when you see it first hand.

We need urgent help. The name of my street is Definite Destiny Hotel road. Please help push to front page so we can get the help we do desperately need.

Don't you guys do landlords meetings and have the youth put effort in channeling the water flow.

If you check out Akwuke Road in Enugu state that leads to the popular Akwuke Beach....you will shed tears and some people will come on this platform and praise Ugwuanyi for doing nothing in Enugu state.

Even major roads in Enugu State have potholes and are been overlooked

So up till now you don't know about the politics going on, every governor has his main area of focus, if you check during chimaroke's time, he worked mostly in the agbani side which is his village or so, same with sullivan, now ugwuanyi concentrated in Nsukka which is his side, I was in Nsukka some days ago and couldn't recognize onuiyi as it use to be. That is why the governor's sit is zoned, we have some lands in the Akwuke, around Agu-uwani and it implies everyone have to wait until it gets to your turn.

Did you get in touch with the two hotels there, The owner of definite destiny hotel has done that road more that 5 times, no body paid a dime, he did a drainage system to the express but it was blocked, at least people staying there can get steady light From destiny hotel due to the owner bringing line 33 there. I know so much about the road, so you saying your family raised 2.5m I don't know what to say, every landlord needs to contribute to the betterment of a street waiting for the government will not help.

My family raised 2.5m last year ourselves and asked other people living around to come together to do it but no one brought out a dime and the money we had wasn’t enough.

I personally collected the money from my family. We tried so hard to have a meeting. We were added to the Whatsapp group for house owners. No single person showed any bit of enthusiasm. We didn’t know this road was so bad when we built our house there 2 years ago. We didn’t even live in Nigeria. To deal with such right now is so difficult. We are willing to cooperate. If the Government can force every other landlord or tenants to pay any amount, my family will pay. We just want a good road. The area is beautiful and safe and we live in a close. All we lack is good road.

Definite Destiny Hotel Road is the name of the street/road. Our house is off this major road and our own road linking to this is equally bad. If the main one is done, we can interlock our own to join the main road!

To be honest with you, there is no place to channel the flood to, unless you it will be channel to the express road which is federal road and government won't accept that, the best way is for every landlord to bring out money for a bigger and wider gutter to be done there, all the roads at that Axis are suffering the same fate, like nowayo road, Asaba aluminum road, road Opposite summit, Kim royal hotel road, terminal one hotel road, and road Opposite former deputy governor office, etc.

l stay in DLA, been unable to start our school due to bad road in my street. Funny enough the street doesn't lead anywhere, it's circular. So I'm not really seeing them coming to construct the road one day. it's just so painful, bad road preventing the opening of our school
Re: Flooding In My Area In Asaba And Government’s Negligence by Kei144(m): 6:11pm On Sep 01, 2021
Problem with Asaba is that there is a lot of flat land. Rain flood doesn't run off, but accumulates and stays for days. To the contrary, every part of Anambra, just across the Niger bridge, is slopy. People may complain about flood water in some parts of Awka, when it rains, but thirty minutes after the rain, the flood water is gone.

DLA has been fixed, although most of the streets are still bad, only the important once connecting to either the express road or Jesus saves road were fixed. DLA road is now higher than the streets, trapping all the waters inside the streets after rainfall
