Closing schools is not the solution, what will the closure achieve, if proper security measures are not put in place in the first place, won't the schools be opened again? The K/B boys might as well decide to wait till schools open again or be going to homes to pluck people. Kidnappers and Bandits are very much emboldened because they know that the Security structurein the country is as useless as the "P" in pneumonia. I won't be suprised if these Bandits don't make returns to the Police.

Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed has ordered the closure of all secondary and primary schools in Zamfara State till further notice. He has also placed restrictions on the movement of vehicles into the 14 local government areas of the state from 6 pm to 6 am, while in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, it will be from 8 pm to 6 am.

The Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana, who announced the closure of the schools and the restrictions on vehicles said, they are new measures to curtail the activities of bandits in the state, with immediate effect.

CP Elkana said the Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed, after due consultation with security agencies and critical stakeholders, directed the closure of all schools and placed restrictions on vehicular movement in the state's fourteen local government areas, including Gusau, the state capital. He urged the residents of the state to cooperate and remain law-abiding, as the state government and security agencies are committed to eliminating bandits' activities and restoring peace and tranquillity in the state.
