Vo: Have you ever applied to any school abroad? Husb: (shocked!) This is not in his Ds 160. He said yes VO: which school Husb : ASU Vo: which course Husb: phd in computer science VO: so why didnt you pursue it? Husb: I thought of helping my wife so she can achieve her career goal and dreams so I stepped down. VO: okay Congratulations I'll be giving you your visa.
Superstar101: Congrats to you. if all transcript was bleep bleep, you would not have gotten transcripts here to prepare for your interview.... if you really want to help other Applicants pls do it right.. all the best.
VO: I see you are going to pursue a masters program in Computer science at bleep university Me: Yes, that’s correct Vo: What do you do for a living Me: I work as an inventory data analyst at bleep company where i develop performance metrics and establish ad-hoc reporting to enhance department efficiency. Vo: Alright, Why this university ? Me: I chose this university because it offers students the opportunity to engage and participate in capstone projects of the school which students can leverage as graduate experience. Also, during an email conversation with Dr Bleep, the Graduate Program director, i was informed bleep university offers graduate internship programs just within the two years course of studies, the school has a strong collaboration with the industry which i believe would help me harness the advanced skills and theoretical knowledge of what is taught in class for practical applications in real life scenarios. Vo: what is your plan after completing your program? Me: I’ll be coming back to Nigeria to seek reabsorption in my present organization as they have an understanding with me and has given me a 2 years study leave, so i plan on returning to them with the skills i have acquired through this course to help develop innovative and cutting edge solutions that address challenges we face in the company… Vo: Cuts in, who is sponsoring you? Me: I have a graduate assistantship and will be sponsored by Bleep business, owned by my elder brother. Vo: what does he do? Me: He is an established business man who is into large scale farming in the south western part of the country, he also owns some landed properties and apartments in Bleep state some of which he rents out for residential and commercial purposes. Vo: types for long.. I will be approving your visa. Bla bla bla Me: (With a big smile). Thank you very much.
Key Points to Note: The interview lasted for 3 mins 1. Please pray and pray and pray. Honestly I would say God favored me during this interview process, because the Vo which was a white female actually denied two applicants, and i was trying to escape her so I can get interviewed by the white male but as God would have it, we were shifted and i was called by the female VO and God did his work 2. Please prepare and study and speak to an object or something you can focus on while answering your questions during your practice, this really helped me cos i have little difficulties with staring at people in the eyes while talking. I stared at her throughout the whole interview 3. Please be honest and speak the truth with what correlates in your ds-160 form. 4. Now, i feel i have to share this last one with y’all cos I know someone might need it in advance. If you are going to be using your sponsor’s business account for getting your I-20, please have your school make this known on your I-20 , it was just Yesterday that it got dawned on me that my I-20 was showing family funds instead of company funds as sponsor on my I-20, whereas I already filled my sponsor’s business name on my ds-160. Thankfully to God, my school changed the “family funds” to “company funds” on my I-20 and even indicated my sponsor’ business name and his personal name which is my elder brother on the remarks section. Trust me, this really matters if you are going to be using your sponsor’s company statement of account. Everything as to match with your ds-160. Even thankfully for me, I wasn’t asked for my brother’s company statement of account. 5. Thanks to everyone who has posted their transcripts, I really took plenty cues from them cos honestly it helped me prepare well, Good-luck to everyone waiting for their interview. Just be confident and PRAYYYYYYY.

2.9/4.0 is US scale and not Nigeria scale. Hence it looks like final GPA
To the bolded, that's not true. Couple of schools have minimum of 2.5/4.0 as requirements. My grade was lower than that and I was admitted and graduated.
Your uncle earning 5million monthly in Nigeria... is a red flag, please note that the VO are well educated. Why will your uncle want to sponsor you for masters? You shouldn't have mentioned your sister moving to Canada as well. Kindly send a message if you need help revising your transcript
Wroyal: Good evening all. I’m gradually recovering from the discouragement that comes from getting a denial.
Please see transcript below
Date: 19th August, 2021 Time: 11:00am Location: Lagos Funding: Zero
Brief background - I’m a graduate of accounting, and I’ve also worked within the Healthcare space)
VO: please pass your passport and I-20 Me: passed it (Good morning)
VO: I see you’re going to Texas A&M, how many schools did you apply to and why Texas A&M? Me: I applied to 3 schools (mentioned them). I choose Texas A&M for several reasons: - A senior colleague at work is a graduate of Texas A&M university and is doing very well in the position she heads. My sister is also a graduate of the school and is currently working in Canada (needed to mention that my sister had left the US because my first denial was for attending her graduation in 2019) - The school also offers a minor I’m interested in (Economics of Health care in the US) which I can take within my 2 year stay without having to extend my duration in the US. I’d be studying Business Analytics.
Over the past 5 years, I’ve majorly worked in the Cancer space and have been able to identify the huge gap is data/ information and turning this into possible solutions for better healthcare in Nigeria. This made my decision to further my education easier as I have identified a gap that I am willing to address. Also my background in finance/ accounting (which involves preparing and analyzing financial data),aids my desire to have an MBA in data science and data science is actually The future. Business analytics is an hybrid between science and business. Converting medical data into useful information
VO: Kept typing without looking at me. I honestly got confused because there was an awkward silence.
VO: Who would be sponsoring you? Me: My uncle, he’s a consultant at a teaching hospital and also consults and is on the board of several hospitals in Lagos.
VO: What’s his average monthly pay? Me: about 5-8million monthly
VO: types for a short while and handed the blue paper. And said I didn’t qualify for the visa.
She made a face when I spoke about my reason for the school. She probably wasn’t convinced. I’ve heard people say my “Uncle” being my sponsor was a red flag. But I’ve read transcript of people who got their Visa approved even with their uncle/ 3rd party as a sponsor.
I want to reapply (for Spring 2022) but I’m not sure if using my uncle will be a disadvantage again. I don’t have any other sponsor and don’t think it’ would look genuine for him to deposit the money in my account for an interview I’d most likely be having soon (before the year runs out).
This is my seeking help/assistance on how to go about this in reapply.
On my DS-160, the part where I was asked who is sponsoring my trip, I wrote myself but my uncle will be sponsoring my education and I have his SOA with me. Hope this is not a red flag? My interview is in a weeks time, should I fill another DS-160 form? Pls I need advice

I am very sure you have a graduate assistantship and I will suggest you include it in WHY BGSU. I am also a Quantity Surveyor but I am planning towards FALL 2022. I pray for favour on your behalf bro.
Thanks bro. I had an assistantship for Fall 2021 but due to the fact that I couldn't get an earlier interview date, I had to defer the admission to Spring 2022 and forfeited the assistantship. I will be going for the interview without an assistantship just praying for God's favour.

I got an Invitation to attend a Conference in the Aberdeen proving ground, U.S. Military's Base . The Conference is on CBRNe Conference, co-sponsored by the U.S. Army . I was approved to gain access to the U.S. Military's base after my application was vetted by the U.S. Army . I have filled the DS-160 form , paid the fee , but the appointment time giving to me was December , 2022 . I choose Abuja , however, I applied for the emergency appointment it was approved . The Conference is coming up 7-9th September, 2021 . I got the nearest date before the conference date, in the following day I got emailed from the organizer that the Conference Venue and date has changed due to the fact that the U.S. Government insist that all U.S. Military base should not allow conference or training from the U.S. Department of Defense , the conference was moved to one hotel at Baltimore , 8-9th September, 2021 without training again . This is after I have complete all the process for the Visa . What is my Chance of getting the Visa ? Note, this conference is an in-person program, as the virtual conference was held in April which I attended.
