Not just seaports, you need enabling infrastructure. That is how you lot were shouting for international airport in the East. They gave you, why are you still running to Lagos?

The North and some states in the East will oppose the new VAT Ruling. After Vat collection by state the next should be decentralization of the Army and the police.

It seems you can't even interpret your own data. The least performing state in SE is Ebonyi yet they're generating almost double of what Ekiti is generating! And they're mates o!!

What you don't understand is that while SW states have reached saturation point in terms of revenue generation, considering how they've widened their tax net to include ORDINARY PURE WATER SELLERS, SE on the other hand is yet to scratch the surface. States like Abia and Anambra can easily double their revenue generation without breaking sweat. Enugu is already generating relatively high revenue and Imo can do likewise too while Ebonyi has already left all its mates in the dust.

We Igbos thrive in competition, so don't worry about us, rather watch and see how things unravel going forward.

And the funny thing is that about half of the Lagos IGR is being provided by SEners, and about 70% of Rivers state IGR is being provided by SEners also.

Proper economic planning and the installation of seaports at Oseakwa in Anambra and Obuaku in Abia, will quadruple the IGR of the SE states.

Adding Igbo areas in the SS stretching from Obigbo, to Opobo and Ubani, to Ogwashiuku to the SE will further help the Igbo economy.

Igbos will automatically be bestowed with the title of states with the largest IGRs

The way you guys call stats in %, one will think you all studied statistics over there.

Just bring up unverified claims or beer parlour gist. Do you even know what an economy entails.

He only had one dream, to be the president of Nigeria like all other his mate that formed PAN Africa movement in the UK, like Nyerere, Kenyatta, Nkrumah e.t.c. It was his single mistake for not leading yoruba to breakaway during the civil war. He said it in his book" The problem of Africa and the need for ideological reappraisal"

I never come across that he wanted yoruba nation.
Thanks for the correction.

I think yoruba nation will favour us more. We are going to make more money by taxing foreigners who are doing businesses or owning properties.
I wish Awo had fought for independence of yoruba nation. I wish he had supported Biafra course.
The only reason why foreigners are doing business in Lagos is because of the Nigerian population. Do you think the other states will allow products to be shipped from Lagos if we break up Nigeria? Every businessman will be forced to set up another branch in those states or face heavy tax when transporting those goods.

Everyone will know the importance of one big country after we have succeeded in dividing Nigeria .

Ahmadu Bello the bastard destroyed that long ago... If you are on WhatsApp I can send you a video of what he did on BBC... He said that Northerners are first class citizens of Nigeria and must be treated as such .... If there is a job employment opportunity, it must be North in slot one, two and three and if no northerner is qualified , then any other tribe CAN be taken ON A CONTRACT basis

So no be today Nigeria don cast... Its now manifesting badly

Why not ask him for his source. What Awolowo advocated for was a separation clause in the 1954 constitution.

Akuko. I don't give a fvck where you're from, though I suspect you are igbo because it is them that make such spurious claims. More than half of Lagos IGR are gotten from paye taxes (pay-as-you-earn workers in especially the civil service and the organized private sector, not some traders that evade more taxes than they pay. In Rivers State, their IGR mostly comes from the oil and gas sector domiciled within the state) so it is blatant falsehood to attribute the bulk of Lagos IGR to igbos who actually leech more than they contribute to the state.

And hear this. The top 5 states collecting the highest VAT are Lagos, FCT, Rivers, Kano, and Kaduna. No single SE state features on that list. Do Kaduna and Kano have seaports? Upon say you people have big markets in igboland, una still no dey collect VAT wey make sense. IGR una no fit collect, VAT sef una still no show. Yet una wan claim credit for other people's efforts. Lol. You are naive.

Without one Nigeria, most of the companies that are in Lagos boosting Lagos IGR will not be there.

IOCs will not have their headquarters in Lagos. Their headquarters will be in Biafra.

Most multinationals will not have their headquarters in Lagos.

Most importantly, Lagos seaport wouldn't have been the only one in the country.

Kid!!
First radio station, first tv station, cocoa house etc were built without oil money by Awolowo administration. Taxes were major form of funding for regional western govenment. Yes, owo ori.
Increase in tax fueled agbekoya war.

Aside Lagos, where else in Nigeria are Igbo men investing more in terms of commerce and industry if not East?

Have you been to Onitsha, Aba or Nnewi? Any big businessman you see in Lagos who is into trade/commerce/ has almost same investments they have in Lagos in the East.

Same way Lagos and Abuja attracts big Igbo men is also how it attracts both Yorubas and every other Nigerian. So what's your point?

Independence of Yoruba nation would not have favoured the Yorubas themselves, Awolowo knew better. Yorubas would excel if a true federalism is practised.

Corruption is the major problem in Nigeria, not the sharing of IGR .

In 60s, corruption was less and we still failed as nation. I think marriage has failed but divorce might not be a good option but separation as federating units through confederation system of government.

Awo fought for a Yoruba nation, the Brits never agreed so they settled for regional system of govt where each region control its affairs. The military coup of January 1966 destroyed all these arrangement.

In addition, before the Igbo coup of 1966, Azikiwe frustrated all attempts by Awolowo and Tarawa Balewa to include a secessionist clause into the 1959 (independence) constitution.

Then in 1966, Aguyi Ironsi destroyed regionalism by promulgating a decree turning Nigeria to a unitary state. That unitary system is what the North is explicating to this day. Needless to say, the unitary decree was drafted by another Igbo, Ben Nwabueze.

You can see the incalculable damage that that the Igbo nation has done to Nigeria.

Lagos has been the capital of Nigeria since amalgamation in the 1800's and most investments by both federal government, foreigners and all Nigerians have been channeled there.

Who is talking about ibadan? The world's largest slum settlement and a dead zone?! Building a television station before France is just fantasy, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Where is France today and where is ibadan today? Where was Dubai yesterday and where is Dubai today??

The Tax that Dangote company will pay is more than the whole SE combined. Dangote company employed more staff than the whole SE not to talk about other Northerners with huge investments as well. I disagree with states collecting the whole money, it should be shared in percentages, the more you collect the more your share. A city like Lagos, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano, Oyo etc is built by all Nigerians, different tribes have huge investments in these cities.
