I totally support states to be collecting VAT that will give them more money. https://economicconfidential.com/2021/09/asvi-2020-igr-federation-account/ 16 Likes 5 Shares

From the above figure, it is obvious that states like Kano, Yobe, Borno, Sokoto, etc. will find it difficult to survive if we embrace true fiscal federalism. Ogun state is a privileged state unfortunately the successive Governors have failed to take full advantage of its contiguous location.Ogun should be generating nothing less than N100b IGR pa. Akwa Ibom and Delta can do better. The states should provide more infrastructure to attract private investors. Kogi should make sure AJaokuta Iron and Steel Industry is completed as promised by FGN. Benue, a bridge across Niger/Benue river from Lokoja will certainly boost trade and economic activities in the state if the herdmen will allow it. 171 Likes 11 Shares |

ThatFairGuy1: Eye opener indeed. Interestingly also, without Lagos revenue (contributed by Nigerians from all regions), South-West IGR would be just N142 billion putting it 4th below the North West, North Central and South-South. Moferere: Check again. 15 Likes

BLAISECAMPAORE:You dull hypocrite, you remove Lagos from South West, but leave Abuja for North Central Lagos is in the South West, so find another mumu talk, talk. Without Lagos, let's compare the 5 South West states to that of the South East. 214 Likes 9 Shares |

DubaiLandLord: South West minus Lagos N142b is still less than North-West's N147 Billion without Abuja and this is despite the insecurity. Lagos's biggest taxpayer is still from the NW (Dangote). Without Lagos as walking stick, SW only beats the South East and war-torn NE. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

BLAISECAMPAORE:You're so daft boy We no beg Dangote to do business in Lagos state, there was a time unity bank relocated their HQ to Abuja, no one in Lagos gave a dam about it. Lagos is in the South West, you can kill yourself if you're not happy with it. Your wailings starts and end on Nairaland. The SE dey drag position with the NE Shame no even catch your useless sef You guys in the South East are also a parasite. Without the FG, Igbo states will be in the league of Niger Republic and Chad 153 Likes 8 Shares |

BLAISECAMPAORE:I see no where in that link Sanwo olu begged Dangote to invest in Lagos. In fact, Dangote wanted to build his refinery in Ondo state(another SW state) before he relocated it to Lagos state. No one gives a fvvck about your parasitic region 92 Likes 2 Shares |

Biodun556:You guys keep celebrating IGR on paper Serious I don’t understand the dumb logic over bloated IGR, please how does internal generated revenue in your state contribute to my state, FIRS tax Nigerians doing businesses in your domain not by tribe, trade is second highest contributor to Nigeria gdp, and we know Igbos are leading in that sector in Nigeria. 26 Likes 2 Shares

I remember how we were told that Osun generated more IGR than all 5 SE states combined, until crude oil prices took a dive and Osun couldn't pay her workers. 41 Likes 3 Shares |

BLAISECAMPAORE: You are almost right but Yorubas mostly contribute to the IGR of Lagos than others. Most of the IGR of Lagos come from PAYE 32 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: Internally Generated Revenue Compared To Federal Allocation Of States 2020 by Obamaofusa: 2:55pm On Sep 07, 2021 |
Ariani: That was then.Only change is constant. Having a better IGR than all SE states does not mean the state would be able to pay her workers.Example is when workers gulp 10 billion and the state makes 8 billion and all 5 SE states make 7 billion. 23 Likes |
