Lol, the GK had a bad game and will take the blame (never mind, highest share) for the 1st and 2nd goal.

The Greenwood shot that led to the first goal was straight at him, the bounce on the ball made it difficult for him not even the deflection. The deflection didn't change the direction, it even reduced the pace of the ball.

For the 2nd goal, the Newcastle defense had their faults. Eagle eyed fans will notice Sancho's brilliant movement that opened the space for CR7 to breeze through.

GKs takes the major blame when they are beaten at their near post or btw their legs. Rendering all the actions that took place before it almost useless.

Let me shock you; for the 2nd goal, CR7 didn't hit the ball that hard. The contact was not clean like you claimed.

The attachments you are sending to us are an individuals opinion. Who is writing this thing?

Just to reply you briefly. The goalkeeper was trying to make himself big in the second goal, thereby opening his legs. Ronaldo emerged all of a sudden and the goalkeeper's near post was exposed, his far post was also exposed. Yes, it was a perfect ground bullet. The keeper saw it too late when it had already gone between his legs

Wan Bissaka should be bench in some matches for Dalot, let see what Dalot has to offer.

The midfield must have at least two players ready to maintain defensive discipline. Automatic Starters in the Midfield/Forward are Pogba, Bruno, Ronaldo. two out of Fred, Mctominay, Van de beek and Matic has to be paired to maintain defensive discipline unless against a low block team. Which leave the last slot to Sancho/Rashford/Martial/Cavani/Greenwood. Unless the coach is willing to bench either Pogba or Bruno or both players are ready to put in defensive effort.

If there was a day to play like that, it should have been yesterday against Newcastle.

The occasion was just right. No Wilson, no Fraser. Manquillo who hasn’t played since April actually started.

The fans were boisterous, all the big guns were at the stadium, from Glazers, Woodward, to numerous celebrities. Old Trafford was packed and roaring.

Newcastle were in the Lion’s den, but see how the team performed.

We play West Ham next, at their home. That’ll be a greater test considering that Benrahma, Fornals etc. won’t miss the kind of chances Newcastle and Wolves missed. Good thing Antonio is out.

Sometimes, it is more difficult to play against a team that park the bus. Any small team that goes all out to play against United will suffer. Mostly if we have all our fast players in midfield and attack all fit.

I hope to see more of him. We'll need everyone to put in something this season

No. We need to see more of Martial doing useful things.

We saw a lot of him last season and he was very very very useless.

So what is the argument about?

No mind that guy.

Herrera has played 73 games in 3 seasons, more games than Verrati (70), Gueye (51) and Paredes (55). but na constant bench warmer grin grin

Having 2 caps when Xavi, Iniesta, Busquet, Alonso, D. Silva, J.Mata, Fabregas were active is not bad. How many caps Mikel Arteta and the rest get?

So inside your big brain, you cannot imagine a world where it is possible that a player would be a constant bench warmer and still score two goals in one game?

One fact doesn’t negate the other.

That Greenwood didn’t score yesterday doesn’t invalidate the fact that he hasn’t been huge for us.

Don’t be a lazy thinker.

I know we’re a very good counter-attacking team, but the loophole in defense, specifically defensive midfield, is worrisome.

Btw, was really impressed with Lingard yesterday, apart from his goal, he seemed to understand what Ronaldo wanted in his style of play.

Odsonn Edouard came on at 84mins to score two goals and grab Man of the Match. Literally shitting on Gallagher who was at the heart of the Crystal Palace attack.

Their defensive setup is very good, especially their one DM and one box to box, shielding their back 3.

Two box to box is suicide in their setup.

So Shaw, Varane, Maguire and Wan binsakka are not that good undecided

So your defensive units are weak, as in, mediocre expensive dog shits?

Yesterday Newcastle played like they were in a relegation survival battle, too negative a footy, worse than prime westbrom last season.

The first half was the worse, as can be seen from the screenshot, defending with 10 men, waiting for counters

The second half when they came out, they conceded 3 goals.

We need to break down teams that sit deep more, as we will see more of these teams this season.

What about the quality of saves he's making? Some randomel shots or well worked balls into the box?

Regardless of the kind of shots, they are all good saves. The guy is giving off prime De Gea vibes. Only difference that prime De Gea had a crappy defence and he still conceded a lot.

Mendy should definitely win African player of the year. He has done well

16 saves in 4 games is still a lot for a supposedly good defensive setup. It would have been another story if they were still using Kepa.

They struck gold with Mendy.

I go like see how Newcastle play against other top 6 teams away from home.

But for once I like how we played against a low block. We crossed a lot more and took more long shots. Even Matic attempted shots.
None of those aimless passing around the box we used to see before.

They use 7 players to defend even at times 8 players as Mount assist in the defensive work.

Both.

Watching Chelsea yesterday made me understand why Tuchel had issues at PSG. The Chelsea players are so disciplined, ready to give it all, just to win. No ego trips at all.

Alonso wore the ‘Captain’ armband throughout the match despite Azpi and Jorginho getting subbed in. Might seem unimportant, but it shows how they’re built. Win comes first, ego comes later. Even CHO puts in more effort than before.

It’s generally hard to get past their defense due to this doggedness, and their keeper shares same mentality, effectively making them a very solid group.
