I've seen numbers of applicants Gcms that says low Employment prospects back home is one of the things that contributes to their refusal grounds, so your wrong if you say this thing doesn't matter bcus it does and VOs use to check these things at times cus they don't see how an applicant will be telling them he or she will return back home after studies to practice what they studied when in reality there is low job placement in the applicants country with regards to the course they want to study and to the VO it won't make sense to them.
If your saying VO doesn't have time to check these things then your in for a shock, you will be surprise that some VOs will go to extra length of checking applicant Facebook page using the their names, sourcing an information that will help them in Processing an application, why do you think some applications takes 6 to 7months or maybe more before decision is made.
That's why it's good to order GCMS bcus the VOs use to point out things like this there and they won't list it in refusal letter.
Anyways , i don't have time to argue about this, so it's ok for anyone to disagree with me but in my world this matters alot.

"You dnt have time to argue"
When you put up something on a public forum you either be ready to defend yourself or explain better.

So how will an applicant explain what he intends doing with the said course of program?
So an applicant cnt establish something? Or work in a firm?
That nigerians dont value animals per say, does it mean vet.docs don't exist?
That our zoos are out of this world with poor maintenance, does it mean people dnt study zoology.
Please try swallow your opinions and not spill such in forum where people can easily be mislead.
Everyone musnt see things your own way.
Let people go for whichever course as long as it's aligned with either their CAREER or ACADEMIC they want and also defend it the way it seems convincing to the VOs.

Na VOs dey approve Visa no be You.
Shalom.

Dear Gilb,

You would need to put together an air tight application justifying why you are going for a 3 years diploma instead of a pgd, if it was possible for you to contact the school and change course that would be a great option. Ultimately if you can prove enough finances and have a convincing sop then you are good to go. Ultimately the choice is yours .
But you will need to work really hard on your application. A graduate with 2.2 going for 3 years diploma.

Hello Bayo

Your sponsor must proof that really he or she is ready and committed to sponsor you all though your study in Canada, he must state the amount he will be committing to your studies, well being, accommodation e.t.c, and a signed and stamped letter of Sponsorship of your spomsor from a recognized High court in Nigeria comes to play here....

Now in your case, you need more than just what you mentioned in your post cos he is neither your Dad or mum, you must show your relationship with your said sponsor (your Uncle) considering the fact that he doesn't have the same surname with you....

You must explain the relationship tree of yourself and your Uncle, has your said uncle sponsored you in your academics in the past?
Or has he had any commitment to your well being in the past. all this will have a positive impact to convince the VO that truly he will be responsible for you while you study in Canada...

Note, you will need to convince the Visa officers more for any sponsor aside your biological parents, the Visa officer should be convinced of the commitment and readiness of a 3rd party Sponsor//

It will end in praise..

Peace
Bayor65:

Hello, readiness and commitment how? I am so so sorry to ask, I need answers. I used one of my uncle though we not related and we are not the same surname but he gave me his statement of account, he wrote a letter, passport data page and his tax clearance which I thought it was okay, that is why i asked the question earlier. Please i need answers.

But what if the person course requires in-person and the school requires a compulsory deferral what do you advice should be done?

For a course that requires you be present physically, and you're expected to defer, then defer. Reason being you do not have control over IRCC timeframe of application final decision, and as classes would have begun, you did miss out on tests, presentations and other activities requiring you presence.

I advice you defer should your school ask.

It will end in praise.

Please I need help guys

I already have a bsc in microbiology from 2013. After my nysc I worked for about two years as an IT intern and there after I opened a photography and graphic design company which has been my source of income till date.

I have been accepted into a 3 year advanced diploma in Computer systems Technology for May 2022. I would like to switch careers hence my choice. I have also paid the tuition deposit. I choose this program for it’s Co-op work experience options which is very important in IT to gain experience while working as well as to get more understanding of IT since it was not my initial study field.

How do I convince a visa officer that studying an advanced diploma is a good idea since I already have a bachelors in another field.

Can I do this with my statement of purpose?

Should I ask for a refund and find a graduate program in IT. Bear in mind my degree is a 3rd class and this might be hard to find a graduate program.

I have completed a certification in Cybersecurity from IBM and have a CompTia A+ certification. I really want to work in Cybersecurity.

I’m lost and don’t know where to go from here.

I need to apply for my study permit soon but I’m worried.

Faithyyyyy:

Thank you

I graduated with a 3rd class. It may be hard to find a graduate program for me considering my CGPA. I can access more funding before my application. I will try to Contact the school to see if I can find a suitable graduate program.

But I may just have to depend on a convincing sop for my application.

Hello Nairalanders,

Please I need to candid opinion on what is my best chance of getting admission and visa. There is my situation, I graduated in year 2001 with 2.2 (Second Lower) in B.sc Biochemistry. But a year before my graduation because of the constant Strike, I secured a part-time job in manufacturing company as a marketer. The job became permanent full time and I rose to the position of Marketing Manager. That’s my one and only job, and I am still on the job.

Can I do a market in Biochemistry or any science related courses?

Or it would be preferable and easier to go through the process if I pick a Master or PG cert in any sales/marketing courses?

It is possible for my to sponsor myself?

I will greatly appreciate your sincere and detailed reply !

Cc @Lekiboboe @ frankrobbn @shuppy and

Call IOM Abuja if you are close to Abuja or send a mail or visit IOM Lagos if you are close to Lagos.

Inform them of your medical request and retrait to them you have less than 30days to get it across to IRCC. They'll schedule you to a date in September

Hello Everyone,

My cousin got her PPR on Sept. 10. God came through! Find below her timeline and documents submitted below:

Submitted (3rd Application) – May 14
Upfront medicals passed – June 3rd
PPR and BVL – Sept 10

It’s been a long journey for her. She already completed one semester online last year but halted because the study permit didn’t come through. All the standard refusal reasons were given so this 3rd try was focused on tackling all those reasons.

Documents Submitted

• Admission letter
• Enrolment letter (since she completed a semester online)
• Transcript from school in Canada
• Tuition deposit payment
• Proof of financial support
o Mybank certificate of sponsor 1(aunty)
o Landed properties for sponsor 1
o Affidavit of support from sponsor 1
o Letter of reference
o Proof of relationship between sponsor 1 and father
o Bank statements of sponsor 2 (aunty’s daughter)
o Work contract and payslips of sponsor 2 living in Canada
o Notarized letter of support from sponsor 2
• Police Certificate
• WAEC results
• SOP
• Detailed submission letter from immigration consultant tackling previous refusals

During the wait, she reached out to the MP where her school is located, sent at least one email to Nairobi weekly and ordered GCMS notes. We got timely feedback from the MP with IRCC acknowledging all the emails she had sent to them but no timeframe on when to receive a final decision. GCMS came back blank - eligibility hadn't started. She reached out again to Nairobi via email this past Wednesday and on Sept 9th, the Nairobi office responded saying her file was still being processed. On Friday afternoon, her PPR came.

Her experience reinforces that delay isn't denial - if you are not successful the first time around and it is in line with God's will - just keep trying!

Thank you to everyone who has shared their experience and kept this group going. I pray those waiting receive good news in this new week and subsequent ones. All the best!

I have a daughter that is less than 2 years of age and on her required application documents she is required to fill family information form whereas my daughter of 3 years of age is not required to do so.
