Good move fg, now hope the bill does it's job of proliferating arms and ammunition in the country. The killings are just too much |

The same arms and weapons that are miraculously made its way to the hands of the bandits and Boko Harams. We all knew this bill is dead on arrival because it as this same abokis that benefits from the same ammunitions sale through backdoors (ransom payment) when kidnapped victims pay them. Well, I have always said that we really dont need to be united to be great, let everybody go there own way jare. Nonsense and ingredients 12 Likes |

Okay. But at least the South West can legislate to arm its WNSN with proper arms without the northern oligarchy crying foul. And I also hope the rubber stamp Senate will ensure this bill also captures the armed marauding Fulani herdsmen from which Buhari originates from. 1 Like |

The law is design to stop Nigerians in the Middle Belt and Southern Nigerians from arming their people against Fulani and Islamic onslaught. Why now? Illegal arms, usually imported, have been proliferated in the North, with Fulani's herdsmen openly carry arms to terrorise farmers, now that Southern Nigerians have started arming the communities, they now want to regulate and control the distribution of arms. Nigerians must be given the right to arms and protect themselves and their families. Mr Lawan said the bills, namely, Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons Bill 2021 and Explosives Bill 2021, were accompanied by two separate letters dated August 26 and August 27 signed by Mr Buhari. 4 Likes |

Lol the first set of laws were so successful in stopping arms proliferation we're doing a sequel. I wonder who's against repealing restrictive gun laws getting in the way of law abiding citizens from defending themselves. Its not like the criminals have issues getting guns after all. 3 Likes |

[s] sulaak:[/s] The Niger Delta militants were using toothpicks to fight and kill Nigeria military personnel? Without bigotry and lies you guys have no comment to make on any issues. The many political thuggery in various states in the South and North get their weapons from where? The cultists, armed robbers and ethnic militias use farts to fight and kill their victims? The sad part of democracy is how it gives unworthy people the opportunity to permeate their unworthiness onto others. 2 Likes |

"Mr Lawan added that Mr Buhari in the second letter urged the Senate to consider the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons Bill 2021 to curb the security challenges in the country." How will Buhari controlling Small Arms stop insecurity in the country. No be herdsmen dey carry the arms freely? Abeg. It's a dead bill on arrival. Please kindly check out my signature. |

Maybe to limit vigilantes from carrying gun so fulani terrorists can gain ground This bill would never affect bandits who now use military base as playground 3 Likes |

Nothing will work unless we have a unified identification system; we must know how many we are exactly and also ensure protected borders all around the country......Not just to be implemented in the South and not in the North so as to give them an upper hand in the event we have a need to protect ourselves. 1 Like |

tafabaloo: Story. Don't tell me you are daft. I will be surprised if you don't know the actual reason behind this bill. The arm is to disarm the indigenous people of Nigeria especially from the south. This bill has no plan to disarm Fulani terrorists, never. 1 Like |

That bill should not be passed. He wants to stop people from defending themselves. Have you noticed the bill doesn't talk about AK-47 rifles that the Fulani herdsmen are using? Yeye man. |
