Good development. More so because Globacom actually approached the government willingly to make this offer. Private cash should become more responsible and more involved so as to play the pivotal part it is capable of in the effort to develop Nigeria. 1 Like |

If you borrow money heavily from abroad and give so many local companies tax breaks then where will the federal government derive revenue from? I pity the next government because nigeria is already heavily indebted and local companies have been given tax breaks camri: |
Re: Tax Credit Scheme: Globalcom To Reconstruct 64 Km Ota-Idiroko Road In 2022 by Nobody: 8:52am On Sep 16, 2021 |
donprinyo: The government does not have the money to meet even 30% of Nigeria's critical infrastructure needs. The Government must therefore deploy private cash to hasten Nigeria's development. Tax credit is a good method beneficial to all as it allows rich private business to fund critical infrastructure delivery today with their cash. Meaning the private sector is essentially providing the FG with a developmental loan which is then taken off their future tax bill. Win win for all. 1 Like |

This Tax credit scheme is a good idea that this administration should be commended for. Though I understand it has been in the pipeline before this administration but for them to be able to bring it to fruition deserves praise. However, we should be mindful so the Nigerian factor does not come in and it becomes a fruitful avenue for kickbacks. 1 Like |

Agboriotejoye:You Nigerians are too emotionally short sighted ..there is nothing absolutely good in this criminal idea .....open your eyes ..in 20 years you people will start shouting end Tax credit now ...This is nothing but a corruption cesspit waiting to burst open and it's begging for many answers .. What will the ministry of works and housing now be doing with its own budget ? Ohh it will now be open for 100 percent looting .... This is the most silly idea |
Re: Tax Credit Scheme: Globalcom To Reconstruct 64 Km Ota-Idiroko Road In 2022 by Agboriotejoye(m): 10:19am On Sep 16, 2021 |
SarkinYarki: How many road are covered by the Ministry's budget. Learn to be calming down. Individuals also build roads in other climes. They have been stealing the ministry's budget and not doing any roads for donkey years. What have you done about it? Like I said, the idea has been on ground before this admin. That was how dangote did the obajana road. That this admin embraced it is also good but as you said, we have to open our eyes. Not for the ministry's budget but for the roads to ensure they are done as agreed and not just give the coys tax breaks without doing anything in return 1 Like |

SarkinYarki: You are daft! You can’t just come here shouting fraud without showing or even attempting to explain how it could be fraudulent. Just like Fashola said, the road was awarded in 2000 for 6B but could not be executed due to lack of funds, that road is now 60B. if the road was funded in 2000 with tax credit, the tax credit would be a lot less than today. The 60b today could be spent on something else. It is to everyone’s benefit. Because we all know Naira loses value over time. We are effectively allocating future tax today where it can build a road cheaper than it can build a road in the future. 1 Like |

Agboriotejoye: That's my point exactly. Who is keeping watch over these things? It's enough to have laudable policies, but who is controlling or checkmating these policies? Same person that created the policy or independent body? Ordinary state taking over VAT, FIRS is running helter-skelter. |

perambulator: Read what you wrote again and tell me if it's not Low IQ that is worrying you ? Are you saying companies have not been paying their taxes? Are you saying the ministry of works have not been having huge budgets for road construction ? You now want me to listen to Fashola who is even responsible for the high cost of road construction in Nigeria when he started awarding one KM of road for 1 billion naira as far back as 2008 ,making Nigeria the country with the highest cost per kilometer in the world at the time .. See trust me na Low IQ dey do U |
