Good evening, everyone.

I am an undergraduate student at UNN.
I applied for an opportunity recently that required me to submit a copy of my statement of account (SoA) to the organization for verification.
As i was going through the SoA now, I just discovered a POS transaction (withdrawal) that I never made as I do not use POS at all for fear of scams.

It reads.......

POS TRAN-SABON MAFARKI VENTUR/EN/NG/28072021

A Google search shows the said company is in Taraba state.
https://nigeria24.me/sabon-mafarki-ventures

The debit is N20, 000.

How was the withdrawal even done without my card?
I am so sure my card never leaves me as I'm quite scrupulous about my things.

I am so lost now
Pls what can I do to get this sorted out currently?
Can anyone assist me with the procedure of getting my bank (FirstBank) to look into this?

To think I need money badly this period.

Do you buy things online?

Sure you haven't logged your card details into a phished site? A look-alike site?

The auto-fill on browsers makes that fill-up easier.

If you didn't, sb is tampering with your account. You need to freeze it.

Can you change your transaction pin?

I really cannot remember right now but
I haven't bought anything online throughout this year. That I'm sure of.

I only use the card to pay my school fees (on Remitta via my school's portal) and to fund my Barter (by Flutterwave) and PalmPay apps, as I began airtime sales recently to make some money for small expenses.

But the airtime sales began after the said fraudulent debit occurred (August).

I'm so confused..

Yes, but please don't be too hasty to chide me.

A delay in my bank sending me the CR alert caused that.

I just checked my phone to even see that I was sent the POS debit alert too, but it arrived at the same time with the CR alert then so I just minimized the notification (Mark as read) after seeing the CR alert, and thought nothing of it.
If not for the SoA, I probably won't have noticed this till an even later time.

Quite careless on my part...
cry

I actually thought I had transferred the money to my other bank account (I use exclusively for savings). That's why I didn't have it on my mind.

Modified: The Debit was actually in July (July 28)

I doubt this. If you need money badly, you would have noticed N20,000 left your account, because if ordinary N1 leave my account, I GO CALL OUT GTB FOR TWITTER, IG AND NAIRALAND.

Report to your bank.

OP just visit your bank and complain about the transaction, a chargeback would be raised and tge acquiring bank would definitely look into it.
Please note that, let them log the complaint as fraudulent so that proper investigation can be carried out as to how the debit was authorized with on your card.

Maybe your girlfriend or someone close to you know your pin and took it to pos place and use it...no POS agents can fraudulent withdrawal money from your account without the pin, account number or your atm card.

op you are a lair: these are my reasons

1. I don't buy your builshit lies
2. As hard as Nigeria is today, everybody knows their account balance
3. If 20k is Missing from your account you would have known before now, 20k is no 1kobo.
4. Are you telling us that if not for the application that needed your statement of account you won't have know that 20k is missing all these while.
5. Stop chasing clout we are more intelligent than this.

PS: if it's true at all know that someone very close to you used your ATM card to withdraw from a POS vendor and delete the alert from your phone.

It's a POS transaction. Meaning your ATM was used for the transaction unless it was a cardless transaction.
Visit the nearest branch of your bank or call the call center via the numbers at the back of your ATM card or send an official enquiry to their official mail
