Dating is a very new concept and the modern dating started in the 1950s after World War II when women were given freedom to work outside the house. Prior to this time, dating was seriously frowned upon and it was linked to prostitution. Dating historically was used as an avenue to entertain prostitutes before engaging in sexual activities. Dating today from a logical standpoint is not distant from prostitution - A man exchanges his resources (money, status, lifestyle and time) for access to sex. In the early 1900s, in most part of the civilized world, it was a crime for a man to sit down and entertain a woman he is not related to. Both men and women could get arrested for giving and collecting money if they can not give any tangible reason for such transactions. Dating in this age is not very much different from paying prostitutes only that prostitutes are sincere and straight forward. They want your money and they are ready to put out unlike "dating" modern girls who often think they are better than the pros and want to put you under the illusion of love while tapping resources from you while rationing sex to you depending on how you show your love i.e. spend money on her. There are few scenerios where dating might be good and I know some people would claim it's about knowing your partner and so on. That I agree, but most people don't even know who they are dating until they are bored of one another and they move to the next person. Personally, dating is okay for me, but religiously and morally, fornication is bad. But,who cares? They are people who don't even believe in the religious and moral beliefs. Morality and religion should first deal with people making life hard. |

That I agree, but most people don't even know who they are dating until they are bored of one another and they move to the next person.I'd say: no scenario. Doradorwa: I have nothing against dating, it is just seeing things for what it is. and no ma, dating is not courtship. Courtship traditionally is a supervised form of "dating" i.e. knowing one another under the supervision of your parents and the most intimate thing people do while courting was hold hands and all these had to be in public places. When people are "dating" what do you think they do mostly? Sing praises and worship together? Read bible to each others ears? or they are deliberating how to make the world a better place? You and I know these don't happen often maybe not at all. Exchange of financial assets for coochie is same as prostitution for every date that doesn't result into marriage, so far sex and money were involved. Same for Valentine's Day often misconstrued as romance day. Girls looking ahead towards valentine for gifts and guys looking towards valentine to not pay too much to get that coochie shined Once again, I'm not against dating I like the word dating because it makes us feel better and morally superior than prostitutes and those who decide to cut the chase and bs and just pay for prostitutes. |

While at it. Dating has failed and it is not a working concept. It has led to more abortions, than marriage. Dating has produced more STIs than long term marriage, Dating has made many men poor - The money many guys could have used in starting business and build empires has been spent on girls who are under another women. Facts: People are not supposed to be dating.. Your parents are supposed to pick partners for you. Oh that's old fashion and archaic right? How many guys/girls have you dated?
