Happy Sunday everyone, I intend to apply for a France visitior's visa for my family (my partner and 3 kids) for the Xmas and New Year celebrations but I don't know how to go about it. I am a student in Germany with a residence titile to that effect so I do not need a visa and I am the one sponsoring the trip and would also be going with them on the trip. However, since I won't be applying for a visa with them, would there be any need to include copies of my residence and work permits in Germany as part of the application documents? Will doing so be counter-productive? (e.g embassy might think I want to abscond with them perhaps). Secondly, since I am the sole sponsor, would there be any need to include my partner's bank statements in addition to mine as I am self-employed here and I have all my business registration documents plus receipts and invoices for business activities intact and a reasonable amount of money in my business account? Last but not the least, is there a portion on the visa application form where the amount budgetted for the trip would be indicated and if YES, what would be the appropriate amount to indicate from my disposable income? Is it 2.5 like that of the UK? Gurus in the house should please help a brother. Thanks in advance. |

@esdajo In my opinion, You guys have a better chance going through the German Embassy. Even though they are both Schengen countries ,you can decide with Country to enter and exit from and You have your Permits with Germany. The Visa Officer most likely would wonder why through France not Germany? However if you decide to go through the French embassy, look for Cancellable tours and most importantly prove that your Partner and 3kids will return back after the New year. Draft a Good Cover letter, get all the Necessary document to your family. No need for Budgeting like the UK just indicate who is paying. At the Moment, frequent travellers are allowed to apply . |

Beverlyhills: Yes you are right but I think they might want to believe I want to stylishly bring them over to Germany never to return home since I have been there for over 6 years, hence going the France route cos Germany is very strict with visa issuance. |

The German Embassy is strict but not when it comes to family. You have been there for 6 years , that should count for something. Do the invite letter from Germany. You know the processes to take. Viel glück esdajo: |
