Obviously in Abuja and Lekki

Cedarcrest. St. Nicolas and that Turkish Hospital in Abuja will be guilty of this practice.

We ought to have progressed past that era of anything with Caucasian gene being highly valued - especially in an abnormal way.

Most of those Dr's were people who failed woefully in their own country and came down here to make quick money.

Just like that Dr. Anu who was using Nigerian women's buttocks to learn plastic surgery with some nasty results.
Dr Anu is Nigerian and are the hospital you mentioned above state run or private ?

The most important question Ngige ought to answer is why is the Nigerian government treating its doctors as if they are nothing? Then why is Buhari patronising and paying his London doctors more higher than the Nigerian counterparts

I thought we are past this level. Why do we keep treating ourselves as second class citizens in our own country? Nigerians are the enemy of fellow Nigerians

Doctors are paid according to the value of their services which depends on
factors such as experience, specialty and commitment to work.

It is private establishment that hires foreign doctors.
Some state governments in the North employ foreign doctors and pay them in dollar while Nigerian doctors
of similar experience, specially and commitment to work are paid based on civil service scale. And if you are southerners working as doctors you will be employed on contract basis.
I had similar experience working as doctor in the north. I was given 2-years contract job. I later resigned and moved down to Lagos.

Besides obvious evil and foreign involvement, some might be paying this much because they bring in more money. People in certain countries perceive certain foreigners as better trained, and they'll pay a premium for their services. If people think these foreign doctors are UK trained or something, they may be paying much more and flocking to the place they work.

That said, it's one thing to pay someone else more, it's another to not pay someone at all. They're robbing them.

Not true bro. Most Nigerian companies are taking serious advantage of the high unemployment rate in Nigeria.

Very true.
If it all about taking advantage, the same people will not be wasting the money they would
have saved by paying foreigners 5-10 times the locals salary.

As long as we are together in a country that belongs to nobody where some feel that they are superior to other people in skin and nature there will be no equity.

It is best for the country Nigeria to be divided into at least three or four different countries containing people that want to be together peacefully.

Otherwise, i forsee war ahead of Nigeria. Though some people are thinking war is not possible in Nigeria they may be surprised that a very mild or bloody war is imminent in Nigeria.

Why will a government which find it hard meeting up with salary and other obligations "waste"
its money on foreign doctors?

That could only mean two things.
Either they can't find local doctors with required experience or they value the skills of foreign doctors.

Since you have experience on this issue, are those expat doctors entry-level GPs or specialists?

Both. The point is that they should be paid using civil service scale. Nigerian doctors working in public health institutions in foreign countries are enjoying similar condition of service with doctors who are citizens. No discrimination.

Lol....not a new thing

In the Maritime Sector, A foreign captain earns almost 5 million a month while a Nigerian captain with same license and certification with even higher experience earns about 1.5-2 Million

This issue has been going on for decades, but has worsen during this period, even that "Aboki" NIMASA DG has turned a blind eye and has turned the agency into a charity organisation looking for traditional title up and down, rather than sitting up and discharging his core responsibilities

No foreign doctor will come to work in Nigeria at civil service salary scale. Unless they are fleeing for their life.
Same goes with other expats, a country like ours can only attract talent by offering attractive package.

There are doctors with similar skills and experiences in Nigeria but those states will never pay them such amount due to tribalism. I witnessed this in the north.
