When I approached my bank for GIC, they actually debited me 3k to credit my cibc account but I called them to reverse cos i needed exactly 10k to be moved. Well I am very knowledgeable about it, banks do it but they don’t prioritize it. You have to get a living expense sheet from your school which shows possible cost. So if you wish, one can transfer 3k to student deposit account with cibc, it’s also a way to prove that you have the intention to move your living costs to Canada. And you will be writing in your sop you have transferred 3k to your cibc account and you will be moving the rest once your visa is approved. Enjay316: 1 Like |

Greetings House, Please I have a few questions that I believe will help me and future study permit applicants here. 1. If I receive a gift deed from my brother to cover only my t-fare to Canada, can I still be self-sponsored? 2. Is there a need for me to explain where I got funds to settle the tuition fee and GIC deposit? In order words, does the source of fund for the payment of tuition and GIC matter to the VO? Thanks in anticipation. |

Enjay316: Haba, bros cakm down. It is nit everyone applying for study permit who knows about this platform. I got to know about this platform in june. Even when i joined, i know nothing about upfront medicals. Don't make it sound like people are adamant. Mot people asking about the medical thing might not have know about the upfront thing. So the did has been done, proffer a solution if you know of one. I habe heard of appointment swapping, i don't kmow if it works. If it works, good. If not, they should walk in with their request from IRCC and see what happens. Nagode. 8 Likes |

Don’t want to start a conversation on this, the only explanation is we shldnt give too much tot or give them too much credit, in Nigeria, most of them are will be graded as diploma holders, they are also overworked since they aren’t working at full capacity! I hear it’s about 1 visa officer to 300 applications a day or so. And our records also don’t help, if you check the federal court website, you will see various cases, most of it are refugees and humanitarian cases, so many Nigerians. It’s normal for extra strutiny to be attached KellyKk: 2 Likes |

bysolaro:Yes you can travel since your classes have resumed be it online or in-person. Remember to have your enrollment letter handy and they may ask you to login to your student portal to confirm you're currently enrolled and taking classes. |

Showing money is barely even the issue for most refusals, it’s the source. So yes the source is very important. You will see reasons like “funds seem available but not sure it will available throughout the course”. they are questioning source and whether or not it’s borrowed. GIC and payment of tuition is the way to go, even if it’s questioned, they know the funds have to be used for the purpose intended. So I will say mention the source, don’t hammer on it if you feel your source is weak but hammer on the fact that it’s now in GIC and you have paid full tuition PatrickOkunima: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hi everyone, awesome job you all do. Been a reader and kindly now need advice with regards education in Canada. I am 35yo & single, with a bachelor's in architecture (3.5/5) and a master's in interior architecture (3.6/4). I started working with a federal university here in Nigeria in 2011 and in 2016 (to date) changed to academics as a lecturer in the same institution. What programme will be a good fit to purse in Canada; another Master's or a PGC in a field related to past degrees, or something related to my work experience in education? I stumbled on a graduate certificate in interior: kitchen and bath design. Will a degree in graphic design align to my previous degrees. Pls a PhD is out of it. 2 Likes |

Good afternoon, Please can anyone on this great platform share a sample of the content of their webform appeals to IRCC and the different email addresses/links to send my appeals to? Preferably someone who has used this method and got approved almost immediately, e dakun. I started classes for my master’s on Monday online and oh boyyyyyyyy, na die! Even though multiaccess classes are being offered for the fall term, I can’t cope with the online version. Classes are at night or midnight! Strict attendance policy - miss two classes and you repeat the course! Too late to withdraw or defer and this wait is affecting me psychologically. I am the only African in my class and the only one left to get a visa (80% Chinese, 19.9% Indian). One of the course directors is a Kenyan diplomat and he even provided a letter confirming class starting and the entire course schedule, which I sent via Nairobi webform one week ago. Since I applied 17th July (forgive me early applicants), I have only sent two webform ever - upfront medical and the letter from the course director. I can’t cope with this online mode of learning. I need to be in Canada. Please helpppppp! |

I later read that it was the visa officers error. If you can afford it, just JR. Likes of Ugo and Ogayemi will gladly take your case if they feel you did justice with your application. Legacyedition: |

Khazirat: Truthfully, you need to have the complete amount needed in relation to your case. If you are paying just first semester, you need to show that the funds available for you must pay the second semester, take care of you living expenses and accommodation. 1 Like |
