Danjikanbauchi: You are too unlearned to contribute into this discussion. Which one is Muslim state? The topic of discussion here is VAT- value added tax not internally generated revenue IGR. VAT is paid by final consumer of certain goods and services to those responsible for the stages through which value are added in the production of that goods and services. Does it occur to you that an MTN subscriber in Kano pay VAT which is turned in at Lagos? See your bank alert don't you see VAT? Those VAT are turned in at the businesses head offices which are in this two states due to their proximity to certain natural phenomena which is not their making. The northern governors will have to check this VAT and see how much their citizens contributed then device a way to get to that on their own. That's why no state has the infrastructure as FIRS to determine and collect the tax adequately for now. North abhor alcoholic beverages but still produced the grain used in the production of the stuff. Agricultural produce going southern Nigeria would have to attract VAT because they are exclusive as at now. Nobody is parasite in the greatness of this country Nigeria. Every state has their comparative advantages to exploit. Infact Kogi State for example by virtue of location will have to charge travellers passing through the state to improve their IGR. Tit for tat. |

Ibkhaleel: Stop abusing people when you are told the truth. Dandauda is rife in Kano, your islamic centre. You claim western countries are bad but millions of Muslims are dying to migrfate their instead of Saudi, PAkistian, Iran, and afiganistan. Shame. I bet you will choose a US visa than Saudi Visa. Continuing using you taqqiya to deceive yourself. All we are saying is that that we practice fiscal federation, where every region should be free to progress at its own pace. For more than 100 years the north has used our collective resource to develop while the south is left empty. Our federal roads are worse in the country, we have no rail, while you are building rail line to Niger republic. How is this too much to ask, even when you have claimed that you are bigger with hue and have extensive resources? Can't poor southerners breath? 1 Like |

Cnach: There's nothing wrong with what I stated. The Attorney-General of the Federation is different from the Chief Justice of Nigeria. I was not interested in his other functions because they are many, but I was making references to the VAT case. He gives the president legal advice and protects the interest of the executive, where necessary. He is an appointee of the president and takes instructions from him. In fact, he is the minister of justice of Nigeria. Being a minister, it simply means that the president can decide to kick him out if he doesn't do what the president wants him to do. I don't know other explanation you need. Read this to learn more: https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2021/01/26/the-office-of-the-attorney-general-of-the-federation/ 1 Like |

Redcrafton:Historically, Muslims had always been badly misunderstood by the false propaganda that the anti-Islamic spread against Muslims and Islam. You chrstians are liars Hypocrites and shamefull.... They go to work, live, holiday & shop in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait & Qatar. While there, they subject themselves completely to Sharia laws & Islamic injunctions that govern these countries. They even learn Arabic to be able to communicate effectively. But here in Nigeria that is governed by laws & a constitution that is based on the Christian CANONICAL laws...; here in Nigeria that uses for all its official documents, schedules & civil observances the GREGORIAN calendar named after Pope Gregory XIII, who issued the papal bull Inter gravissimas in 1582, announcing calendar reforms for all of Catholic Christiandom which gave birth to the Gregorian calendar in use today also called the Western or Christian calendar...; they want to die whenever they see Arabic inscription on anything. They are so afraid of Islamization & are all running away to the Middle East to escape been Islamized by Buhari. Odiegwu Really! Self-deceit & idiotic hypocrisy should indeed have a limit!! You fear Islamization yet travel far to treat same Muslims, Isn't God wonderful? Indeed he is the God of humans- both Muslims and Christians! When you make the money, Remember to return home And train the student doctors behind, After all, others trained you for the Saudis, The system paid for your medical school. Again, isn't time, Govt stop funding medical schools, After all, they leave for Saudis after receiving medical lessons In Buhari's Islamized Nigeria. Farewell, our medical doctors, Enroute Saudi Arabia, for Arabia dough, Say, Salam to the Saudis, another Islamic country! |

Redcrafton:you think you are smart I'll show you pepper today! What is tqiyya that you keep mentioning? Crhstian "Liars" Islamophobes usually tell their blind followers that the word means "to lie to non-Muslim". However, "Telling the truth" is a basic Islamic rule “And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is). (Qur’an, 2:42)” According to Encyclopedia Britannica "Taqiyyah, in Islam, the practice of concealing one’s belief and foregoing ordinary religious duties when under threat of death or injury. Derived from the Arabic word waqa (“to shield oneself”), taqiyyah defies easy translation. English renderings such as “precautionary dissimulation” or “prudent fear” partly convey the term’s meaning of self-protection in the face of danger to oneself or, by extension and depending upon the circumstances, to one’s fellow Muslims. 2 Likes |

Ibkhaleel: So your issue is about religion and not region or state? Read the section of the constitution again and you will find that Obj has better spread than this government. Again what had Igbonization got to to with it? Is Obasanjo an Igbo.? You are being haunted by your shadow. Can you also show where Obsanjo asked the Yorubas to go to every village and claim people's land or kill them? |

9jah:HOW THE SOUTHERN VAMPIRES SUCK THE NORTH DRY Banks run over a dozen of financial facilities from loans to cash transfer. Each facility generates billions for the bank owners. Northerners with a population of about 140 million do not own a single bank in Nigeria, except for some tiny community banks. Daily, about 20 million Northerners do bank transfer through some of the big commercial banks that belong to Southerners and each one of them is now charged 20 naira. 20 × 20 million = 400 million. This is the amount Northerners give to Southerners daily on just a single type of bank transaction out of many. In a month it means 4 billion × 29 = 116000000000 (116.billion). In a year it translates into 116000000000 × 12 = 1392000000000 (1.392 trillion). 1.392 trillion the north is giving to the south every year is enough to: 1- 2,784,000 low cost houses each year at unit cost of 5 million. or 2- 1,392,000 village schools each year at unit cost of 10 million. or 3- 13,920 small scale industries each year at unit cost of 100 million. 4- Give 50,000 Naira scholarship to 2,784,000 students yearly. You can think of other projects the amount Northerners are wasting on the Southerners for a single bank facility called mobile transfer and do the maths. Now come to think of it how much money move from the North to South for the entire banking services. It is estimated to be over 13 trillion which more than double the entire federal budgetary allocation given to the North. That is just the banking sector. Similar humongous losses are registered in other sectors such as telecommunications, insurance, education, trade, etc This is not an issue for individuals or groups to tackle. It is a political economic issue calling for political decision and action. It is the core reason the North is economically backward. Northern poverty is a direct result, mainly, of lack control of financial and natural resource. Northerners must call for restructuring for direct control of trade, manufacturing and the service industry. Forget about the false Southern propaganda that Northerners are lazy. Millions of Northerner wake up at 4 am and work their bones tired to 8pm and beyond making very little. Their resources have been taken over and only political action can restore them. The Southern Nigerians have taken political action to stop herders and Ruga project, they took political action to take over trade by demolishing markets owned by Northerners in the South, they took political action to stunt Northern transport business through officially encouraging violent taut action, they took poitical action to demoralized Northerners via massive media stereotype and false propaganda etc This is the reason those Southern leeches exploiting the North as bankers, transporters, counterfeit goods traders, school owners, estate prospectors, contractors, kidnapping and terrorist sponsors do not wish to leave the North or have Nigeria broken up as oppose to their ignorant tribesmen agitating for break up. These leeches when they talk about restructuring, they mean more political concession and control is to be given to them to permanently dominate the economic life of Northerners |

Hangmnk: You're too toxic for the good of any decent environment and people who are progressive minded. You somehow shamelessly managed to give ethnic colouration to an important issue that should have required your logical input. And that same stupidity probably accounts for why you have failed to even know that the Cocoa and Palm oil you're trying to rubbish accounts for over 60% of Nigeria's Agricultural exports. So whether you decide to have sense or not, the South has to be confidently proud of themselves because even those Agricultural products come from there. Keep playing the tribal card and spewing unnecessary hate with an empty stomach! Mpama! |

Ibkhaleel: Beautiful analysis But like I mentioned earlier, in a competitive system where education and skill rather than quota is to be used as the minimum qualification for employment, I can assure you, the figures for the North will be far less than what you have populated. How can I proof this? In systems or private sector where skill and top notch education is the only basis for employment, you will find the Igbos and yorubas getting employed ahead of the Northerners. So saying that southerners have more in employment in the public sector is not you doing us a favour, the folks down here value education and skills. To the average yoruba man, the only legacy he can give his child is education, not religion. There's a reason the top universities in the country are from the south. |

slydog:We must ask and take our fair share of every government employment at whatever cost. No people has ever prospered when their resources, oppurtunities and chances are blocked and dominated by others. Our constant preachment of peace must stop: justice and and equity must be our new slagon. The real problem is believing in the propaganda of the enemies which saps our resourcefulness and infuse our senses with feelings of backwardness that really do not exist, or are caused by false perception. The greatest defeat one can suffer is to see oneself as projected by one's enemies. Almajiri is system suffocated by lack of finance. Poverty is a direct result of economic domination and exclusion. Degrees are not unavailable. Marrying four wives will not stop as it is never a problem but a great social system. Once we assert control on what is rightly ours, that self concious timidity will evaporate and be replaced by confidence and bold enterprise. Up to the Seventies we were the richest people in Africa. As the central government grows and takes control of resources our wealth progressively dwindles. As the southerners intensify drums of hate and aggression we draw back to give peace, that is never forthcoming, a chance. |

slydog:Try asking for propotionate representation in all government employment in all institutions and at all levels, they will cry out about mediocrity supplanting merit as if those half literates southerners dominating the place are Einstein incanates. Or they will blackmail you with Islamization. Try treating their traders in our markets as they treat ours and they will cry xenophobia as if the regular denial of market space, heavy taxation, constant disruption of business and officially sanctioned harrassment of our traders in their land does not exist. Try replacing Southern union leaders and foreign sponsored NGOs operating in the North with our own people and they will start wailing about marginalization. Well, their era of dominance and false propaganda is coming to an end with the coming of age of young northerners who could no longer accept marginalization because of blackmail or threat. These new bold Northern youth have seen how southerners cowered when asked to leave the North two years ago. Their cries for secession are empty ruse. We will be better off without them and they will definitely be worse off without us. They know we lack nothing, while their millions selling substandard, fake good, drugs and inrdinately high interest bank loans fleecing the north and feeding on cheap food and services will have nothing on returning back home. Their franchise firms and industries will lose over 100 million costumers overnight which is more than their home market demand. |

Ibkhaleel: Nigeria, a third world country in Africa, is known as the poverty capital of the world. The nation just exceeded India with the largest rate of people living in extreme poverty. In Nigeria, about 86.9 million people live in severe poverty, which is about 50% of its entire population. While the nation is smaller both geographically and in terms of population, it is failing at lowering the rates of poverty. This is partly due to the mismanagement of the oil business and the presence of corruption. Along with this, the nation is going through a “population boom,” which will make managing poverty rates more difficult. One of the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals is to end extreme poverty by 2050. However, Nigeria’s poverty rates are currently going in the wrong direction. Top Reasons for Poverty in Nigeria While Nigeria is known for its oil riches, the reality of the nation is that corruption, unemployment and inequalities have destroyed the nation’s economic framework, causing it to be the poverty capital of the world. Corruption: Corruption is the major reason why poverty is at such a high rate in Nigeria. In fact, many economist have declared that it is the “single greatest obstacle” that prevents Nigeria from prospering. Corruption is present in the everyday lives of citizens from businesses to the government. Consequently, poorer communities are suffering and the economic structure has experienced disruption. Unemployment: The high rates of unemployment also lead to extreme poverty. Unemployment typically exists among the younger population. In fact, only about 44.6% of young people have employment, leaving more than half of the population is unemployed. A major cause of unemployment is the fact that people tend to focus more on oil production rather than a variety of other industries. Not only does the country suffer from a lack of employment but it also suffers from a lack of development, progress and diversification of its industries. Inequality: Along with corruption and unemployment, another major driver of poverty in Nigeria is the presence of inequality within the nation. Nigerian women are subject to unequal treatment in terms of labor, education and property. While about 79% of women make up the rural labor force, they are the least likely to own their own property. Along with this, only about 6% of Nigerian women have achieved literacy, the rest are still illiterate. Inequalities in Nigeria are a result of poorly allocated resources and corruption. While Nigeria has plenty of resources, these resources are typically reserved for the wealthy who can afford them. Along with this, corruption within the government leads to further inequalities between the political elite and to those living in poverty. |

Ibkhaleel: Competence trumps quota/proportionate representation everywhere in the world. This young Northern youths should fight for true federalism or division as a last resort. The Northerners will benefit from it immensely pls. |

slydog:The problem with southerners is that they are brainwashed and programmed into accepting the new word into their dictionary and applying it to every Northerner... The problem is if you ask most of them the meaning of quota system, they don't even know it. They are just saying it because that is one of the things they were made to believe. They're the victims of what Chimamanda Adichie called "Single Story" They're fed up with the story of negatives. Fiscal federalism or true federalism (which means regionalism), control of resources in your region, etc., Like weak centre and active region, I swear to God, these aren't idea that people squeezed from thin air. These were ideas propagated from the works and ideas of Muslim politicians of the north before independence. (Just pick the book, my life by Sardauna Ahmadu Bello, and open the various debates in central legislative council from the Richard Governor general time, focussing more on macpherson time of 1956). The ideas I mentioned were never gotten from awolowo, it was never gotten from azikiwe. It was gotten from Sardauna. Yes, Ahmadu Bello and his fellow intellectuals invented these ideas to protect the north. But Christian politicians in the south kept fighting it because they felt Nigeria is in their favour. Eventually, they won, and Allah granted the muslim North victory with what they lost. The Christian south are now complaining. |

slydog:The North is the single largest supplier of raw materials in all Nigerian industries, from food through agriculture and cloths to shelter through cements and other building materials available in the Northern rocks, including iron ores and ceramics. The North have Gold, Diamond, Tin, copper, gypsum, coal, magnesium, etc and even uranium all over the area. A liter of groundnut/cotton oil is more expensive than a liter of oil, and it has long industrial chain value , from pharmaceuticals, detergents etc. The cows that some few people condemn is over 20M in number in Nigeria, when properly harnessed and utilize, if a quarter of this number can produce a liter of milk a day, it means the North will have 5M liters of milk per day, each liter is N350, much more that a liter of fuel. Dantata was the richest Man in Africa and was the grandfather of Todays Aliko Dangote Up to the Seventies we were the richest people in Africa. As the central government grows and takes control of resources our wealth progressively dwindles. As the southerners intensify drums of hate and aggression we draw back to give peace, that is never forthcoming, a chance. 1 Like |

Look at private sponsored scholarships etc and judge. Are those ones partial too, hypocrite you are like you people, you are of less value intellectually and economically. Your people can't match their fellows counterparts in the South in academics, sport, entertainment, business and industrial sector. 1 Like |
