My wife is fond of kissing my 6months boy in the mouth. I personally don't like this and I have told her to stop it but she refused.

This issue in causing a serious argument in my home and I want to take a serious action since she has refused to stop it.

Please I need advice from experienced parents.

I was abused sexual as a child by a cousin staying with us and there are cases of incest around me. I don't want any of this to happen to my son.

The teenage girl staying with us always sees my wife kissing my son in the mouth and I am afraid she my copy it and start doing it.

Please am I wrong? Am I over reacting? Is it a normal practice? Please advise me.

You should've told her not to deliver the baby through her pnssy.
Please allow that woman to connect with her baby.
Stop putting dirty feelings into that woman's head.
You may not understand the joy of a woman with her child.

You need to see a therapist, you're obviously still dealing with trauma from your abuse.

There's nothing wrong with a mother kissing her baby in the mouth, you're just projecting your trauma on your wife and child.

Please, deal with it before it ruins you.

I am shocked! You are unaware of the risks.

Can kissing babies be wrong?
Yes, if you are infected with herpes. Transferred to a newborn, the infection can have serious consequences, including long-term neurological damage and, in some cases, death. That’s why the tabloids, with their instinct for the jugular, call it “the kiss of death.”

Health Wise it's not right because she can infect the child with mouth disease.

I don't know why a mother will chose to kiss a baby in the mouth.

The cheeks and forehead is fine but definitely not the mouth. Let her stop it. It's not healthy.
Oh!! So she can't infect the child with breast disease.

You tell a mother not to kiss her own baby, from her own womb, in the mouth, why? undecided

If you need to seek counseling for the abuse you suffered as as child, then go get it quickly. But to try to restrict a woman from showing love and affection to her own baby because you were abused is a bit too much. undecided

And using the teenage girl living with you as reason to scold your wife is ridiculous. Tell the girl she is not to do the same to the child, not scold your wife for showing affection as a mother to her own offspring. undecided
if the man start kissing his daughter on lips hope u guys wont complain or would u say same if it were d man kissin his daughter

Some of you blasting the op here don't have sense at all. He asked an innocent question based on what is going on now currently and his past experience. If he was the one doing it to that child, I bet his story will be everywhere on social media. That habit can become something else later if she continues kissing that child. Hugging and kissing on the head or cheek is enough.

In conclusion, women get away with many things. The future is truly female.

Let's assume it's a man(father) kissing a baby girl, this thread would have been filled with insults from feminists, the hypocrisy is alarming.

Bros, why are you trying to cause a fight out of nothing. How do you even imagine that you can prevent a mother from kissing her own baby whom she carried for 9 months.
FYI, all things being equal; the love a mother has for her child/ren is greater than the love she has for you as a husband; and that love is much more intricate at this tender stage of the baby. Don't fight it. Its just unexplainable instinct present in humans and animals.
So abeg don't try to stop her or else she go change am for you one day and you wouldn't like it. The most you can do is to express you concerns about doing it in from the other small girl.

But you sef na wa oo. So by the time you have a second and third child, would you still be expressing the concerns of your wiife kissing the baby in front of the now older siblings?

I understand you had bad experiences as a child but don't allow the fear of that to prevent your family from living normal life. Or you go seek immediate psychological help.

Absolutely wrong. What happened to kissing on the forehead and cheek. Will it have gone down well if it was a father kissing his baby girl mouth to mouth.
Abeg no need telling them again, same women will come here and accuse the man of being a pedophile.

This is not about society or culture but nature and here you suggest that nature is not normal. Interesting. undecided

Kissing is very much a cultural construct. Cultural connotations of kissing vary widely.
I won't pretend to know enough about you to assume what your cultural or social background looks like. But mine is a typical nigerian one, where kissing is between couples, married ones for specificity.

I'm not against a mother showing natural affection for her child, but kissing on the lips for me will take getting used to.

I see nothing wrong as it is her child.. that you were sexualy abused have left a scar in your memory but you have to deal with it..

Maybe you should let her understand your point of view rather than just prohibiting her authoritatively from the act...

Everybody loves the feel of the lips of babies bro.. don't be mad..
Love your wisdom broo...

I know of houses where their roles are switched due to circumstances. Believe you in me the man always feel like committing suicide. Only insult from ur wife especially in public places will make u think marriage is not worth it. If man loses his job he becomes worthless and useless.

That show of affection is for that child's good and also for the mother - that bond has to be formed and nutured. Fathers who bond on similar manner with their babies are seen to have a relationship that is beyond what we consider typical in society as well. undecided

It may look creepy but nature knows what it is doing with all that. undecided
