This guy u r funny,
But there is nothing u can do about it now,
disintegration,succession ,
there is nothing we can do about it now,
we just have deal with it,work hard for d family future generations, hoping that one day things we turn around, anything is possible, all we need is one true man.
U keep calling gods,
Well it is only one true God that determines when a nation is born or disintegrate.

Who made you a judge on this case? Bearing Bassey is not in line with the Igbo culture.

Musa doesn't deserve to be a centurion because his recent call ups were out of favour

Why must you lie to push agenda how is Fatih that is currently 9th in the Turkish league the worst team in Turkey?

Mikel was also clubless when he was first called up to the SE so it's not a new thing that started today.

As for Eqwuekwe well it was Keshi not me that took him to confederations cup in 2013 and dropped his national team captain without blinking an eye.

ChrisKels:

Same Turkey really? For a club that just got promoted? While Yobo was a starter for the then best club in Turkey, do you know Musa is a bench warmer for the worst club in Turkey?

Lol Musa that was getting call ups even when he was club less and a non playing Kano pillar?

So, you would take Egwuekwe ahead of the then Yobo who was in champions league with Fenerbahce?

Sorry man, I'm done with you on this.

Why are you guys over hyping this boy? He is that good, yet he can't pin down a starting place at Rangers?

By the way, the boy should understand he is African, hence he should go make peace with his dad. He will only be ridiculing himself bearing his mum's maiden surname instead of his original surname(Ughelumba) just because the mum had a strained relationship with the father in Italy. I read the man never left and that he has been trying to be a part of the boy's life, instead the mum has been doing everything to turn the kids against their father, leaving the Ozubulu man in tears, as he couldn't stand his son turning to a total stranger just before his very eyes.

Dude, according to our naming culture, as the legal son of Ikenna Kingsley Ughelumba, you are Calvin Ughelumba, not Calvin Bassey, as your mum has forced you to ID with.
if nwakali is hyped here when he is yet to do anything tangible since his 4 year stay in Europe Calvin deserves the same treatment for breaking into rangers first team after just leaving youth football 2 seasons ago

No, you are wrong, it is already in the public. He is a public figure, and he is supposed to have his home in order so he doesn't become an object of ridicule. He needs to be reminded. You all be trying to be more Western than the westerners, hence sweeping our customs and traditions under the carpet. When a child is going the wrong way, you ought to give him corrections, then it is left for him to heed or not. He was not born out of wedlock, so it is silly for him to adopt his mother's maiden surname and have his own surname relegated. We believe in "afa m efuna"
Well the whole saga does not in any way affect his public status. It’s a family issue when time comes they’ll resolve it.

Was Yobo's own "earned"?

Going into the 2014 WC was Yobo our best defender? Remember at the time Omeruo and Oboabona were our defensive pairing. Keshi even dropped Joseph from the squad for some time until the WC came around so will you say Yobo fraudulently earned his 100 caps?

it’s disrespectful for you to bring up the kids family issues here when you don’t know what transpired between his parents. Atleast even with his strained relationship with his father according to your post he still acknowledge the fact that he is a Nigerian and also bears his fathers last name

Trust me people won't know the pain in this type of situation until they are there. Although at the end of the day the boy is grown enough to make his decisions. Hopefully he gives his father a chance in the long run.

I'm telling you, if it was by merit, Musa should haven't been called up after the 2019 AFCON, Musa is way past his prime to be earning call ups.

ChrisKels:
In the future, I will remember Musa for his 4goals at the world cup, but I will never celebrate him as someone who managed a century of caps for the eagles. Yobo and Enyema got theirs on merit, Musa is getting his fraudulently, hence, in my book, I can never place him in the same league as those previous two. A century of caps must be earned, and every count of it must be merited otherwise it looses its value. The NFF should stop the history of helping players to fraudulently earn a 100 caps to the detriment of the team. Well, this is Nigeria, a failed state.

In Yobo's case Nigeria had a dearth of defenders playing at the elite level while in Musa's case Nigeria has a least 6 wingers playing at the elite level in better form than Musa.

Also, you can't compare Yobo's form at that time, he wasn't clubless at point like Musa and he wasn't inactive and match rusty for over 3 months.

If he was born in a Spanish speaking country he can use the excuse of the Spanish naming custom where both an individual's surname and mother's maiden name are used in the person's name.

Steven Caulker has been called up by Sierra Leone, his paperwork has been submitted and they expect it will be done on time for his debut. While it takes Pinnick and co centuries to get players cleared.

You make a fair point but the fact of the matter is the Yobo of 2014 was already undergoing diminishing returns just like Musa is right now but we still included them for their experience and standing in the team.

If Musa eventually gets his 100 caps I will still salute him because he has been a great servant to Nigerian football. Will I completely say he has nothing left in the tank? Who knows but remember pre-2018 WC Musa was on an awful run of form guy was even playing in the reserves of Leicester City but he turned out being our best player at the world cup in russia.

By current form Musa shouldn't be in the squad but we all know inclusion in national team squads all over the world is not always as straight forward as that.

Nna, I can't believe what I am reading. That act of changing his surname to his mother's maiden surname is so spiteful and it has his mother's handwriting written all over it! So shameful.

Imagine the travail of my fellow man, and you want me to keep quiet? Aji gbakwa!

“I had Issues with the mum, out of wickedness she denied me access to my children and changed my son’s surname to her maiden name,”

“I tried my best to settle with her. We went to court in London for me to have access to my children, but she vehemently opposed me seeing my children.

“This very issue happened in 2008. The judge told us to go home and settle the matter as a family, but she denied me and that is the reason that I have not been able to have access to my children."

“I have four sons – Calvin, Elvis, Michael and Matthew. Calvin is my first son. The children visited me in Italy in 2016. We took photos together. It was very lovely atmosphere in Italy.

“I had an access with my children then, but somehow along the line, their mother poisoned Calvin and my other sons to be completely against me. The mother changed their numbers so that I will not be able to communicate with my boys."

“In February this year, i went to England from Italy. I came to Leicester City FC training ground. I introduced myself as Calvin’s father to the officials of the club."

“I presented all my documents, they checked it and they knew I’m the biological father of Calvin and they welcomed me very well.

"The club officials called Calvin. He wanted to be sure if actually his father was around. So they asked me if there is any other name that he is known with.

“I had to convinced them further by mentioning the nickname I used to call him when he was much younger. The officials mentioned the name to Calvin and when he heard the name, he said the person that calls him that name is either his father or mother.

“The club officials allowed me to speak to my son through the club’s telephone. We did speak. He said I should come to his house.

“Getting to his house, he was on call with his mother. Immediately he saw me, he became very upset, that he doesn’t want to see or talk to me. He said he was going to the gym to train.

“I had to go back to Italy dejected and since then I never had access to Calvin and my other three sons. I just want to reconcile with my four boys.

“To be candid, i don’t know the offence I committed against the mother that she should take such drastic action against me, to deprive me access with my children,”

I don't know where his mum came from, she could be Igbo as well because Ohu Ozara people of Ebonyi State also bear the surname "Bassey", and even the mum's name is Eberechi, but she was wrong to have changed the boy's surname, whatever was the problem between her and the father.
