Hi All,

This is for students in the Dallas Fort worth Area. A friend who we came together a decade ago (our stories are in part 3) is seeking a student in the IT/Analytics (or someone interested with a passion) field to mentor. You would be taught with real business projects and would be paid a good stipend for your time/work.

Let me know on here if you are in the area and you are interested.

Hello All,

I’m an intending Educational leadership/Administration masters degree student of Liberty university in the US, I got my admission for fall, but due to immigration palava in Nigeria, I had to defer my admission till spring 22 (Though I haven’t got an interview appointment date till now) The earliest interview date I got is Feb 22, which obviously is after commencement of spring classes (I need help on this too)

Pls, Does any one have an advice for a masters student traveling to the US with a minor of 2years.

VISA APPROVED GUYS! Spring 2022

Date: 21st September 2021
Location: Abuja

My first time going to the US Embassy but this forum has been instrumental to my practice and information, so I had to just post mine for others to see.

I was interviewed by a white woman.

VO: Good morning, pass me your documents.
ME: Good morning. Sorry before we start, I stutter a bit but I will be fluent as possible
VO: No problem
VO: I can see you are going to Texas A&M University
ME: Yes, that's right
VO: For masters in Engineering?
ME: Masters in Industrial Engineering.(I corrected her immediately)
VO: Okay
VO: What do you do?
ME: I work at an Engineering firm in Lagos as a Technical Officer.
VO: What will you be doing after your study?
ME: I will definitely be coming back to Nigeria to continue working at my current company as I have an offer of a managerial role upon my return.
VO: I can see you work at XXXXXXXX
ME: Yes (I repeated the company name)
VO: What do they do?
ME: They are into fabrication of tanks, water and sewage treatment systems
VO: Give me an approximate staff strength of the company
ME: We have two Offices. One in Lagos and other in Ibadan with an approximate of 60 staff in total.
VO: who is sponsoring your study?
ME: My Uncle will be sponsoring me, he has been sponsoring my education as a child.
VO: What does he do?
ME: He is a medical doctor and he owns two hospitals, one in Lagos and other in Ogun state.
VO: Is he in Nigeria?
ME: Yes he is (He actually just returned from the US so my response was a bit shaky).
VO: Ok, I will be approving your visa......... (I always read on here that people stops hearing what the VO is saying about Covid at this point) I literally didn't hear anything as well, different thoughts and emotions all at once.

I collected my white paper and in two days my passport was in Lagos.

It was just God, that's all I can say!

She’s in luck now cos they are about to start F1 visa waiver for people who have been to US and returned. So she might not even have to do an interview
Thanks for the information, by any means do you know when it will take effect?

You can use your previous CGI details, create/update your ds160, pay for another mrv fee, click on new appointment on cgi to schedule, you will actually see where you will input the new reference number of the visa fee.

Thank you.

I've resolved the problem that day

I switched over to laptop and it got through.

nicflame:

Just go take the passport at a normal computer service center. They know the quality already once you tell them it's for US Visa, they'd even test it on the website for you once they're done taking your passport photograph.

Status: Visa Approved. Lagos on Tuesday, 28th of September.

VO: Do you have his statement here.

I passed it to him and he spent like two, three minutes on it. Checking pages, after pages. When he's done, he asked me why I didn't print earlier months. At this point, I was getting 'angry' too and I told him what he's holding starts from February and ends August. That's 7 months. He said okay.

So in all these, I wasn't certain which direction the interview was going. I felt like he's taken the questions from the rear and was hoping he'd ask me questions I could possibly express my self well.

I just hoped 'Jesus takes the Wheel' and I can shine soon after.

Then he asked me.

VO: Okay, so what's Econometrics.

It's at this point I knew my prayer was answered.

ME: I spoke to the truth of Econometrics and I added Quantitative Economics to it. I finished my bullets here.

He nodded. I told myself, 'now we're in play'!

VO: So what will this degree do for you?

ME: In the short term, when I return to Nigeria, I'll be taking up the role of portfolio manager where I work presently. In the medium term, I'd love to work with CBN and this degree will make that goal achievable. In the long term, I'd love to set up my own consulting firm. The Industry knowledge I've gathered all these years, couple with this degree will make it attainable.

He was staring at me here. So I removed my glasses, folded it, dropped it and looked him eyes to eyes. Then I was spitting.

He then asked how long I'll be staying in the state and told him January 13, 2021 to Dec 15, 2023.

He then brought out white paper and started writing on it.
Love and Light.

Love and Light bro.

I actually felt angry on your behalf. LOL.
Meanwhile that lady Visa Officer who used to answer questions here some years back said that Account statements weren't really necessary or required for their decision making. I don't know if that still stands.

Congratulations on your success.

I have plans of switching from banking to nursing.
Have got a B.Sc in Microbiology, have always worked in the bank but wish to pursue an Associate Degree in Nursing. I don't know what my chances are of getting the visa approved.

Another option I'm considering is to seek for an MBA, since that aligns more with my career, then switch course to Nursing upon landing.

What do you think?

Would appreciate your response please.

Thanks.

Number 1 is possible but do you have the other i-20 with you already? infact some school won't even require you to spend a semester with them, they will just transfer your Sevis record to the other school you want.

I know someone (BSC) who got admission into a university and a community college but got his visa with the university i-20 and when he got to the usa, he went to the university and told him he would like to transfer to the community college instead but he gave them good reasons.

They transferred it and went to the community college which was just $4500 per year, he did the best thing than staying out of status. But most schools won't transfer your Sevis record to a different school without you spending at least a semester with them

Hello @tiptoe1

I need more insight please. Sent you a PM.
