JavaScript90: You said it all! The moment he ditched Alcatel, his woes started. The glaring fact that Huawei copied Alcatel made Baba to think it will replicate Alcatel’s reliability and integrity, but that’s when it’s network plummeted. And Adenuga should have definitely known that nothing good comes cheap And MTN also has been using the cheap hardwares across Nigeria but won’t use it in major cities. 4 Likes |

ocelot2006: Huawei glaringly copied Alcatel, like for like. You can hardly differentiate their hardwares at first glance. Huawei has a way of not revealing much to the operator that even when your network is crashing, you will always believing you are doing well. They come with overhyped hardwares that cannot perform optimally at the specification they claim, but the operator will never know, their architecture conceals alot from the operator, It’s no hidden fact that the moment GLO moved to Huawei, the network crashed. Users can attest to that fact 10 Likes |

We are the problem most of the time. Chinese companies can produce good products but they are treating us the way they see our leaders treat us. Dem no born Huawei well to sell bad products to American market or advanced European nations markets. Imagine them sign a contract that if someone dies because they could not reach emergency service due to verified hardware/software error of their products, they will pay damages. Remember, damages in advanced nations can send your company back to the village. That's a sample of agreements they enter with advanced nation companies. By the time lawsuits finish them, they will return to China. Who is holding them responsible here? JavaScript90: 3 Likes |

Always signing deals that they won't maximize. What about the underwater Glo fiberoptic cables that was supposed to revolutionise data and voice in Nigeria telecommunication and humble supposed giants like MTN? Till today, MTN is still taking Globacom for a ride in service delivery. Decentdave: Clown You "successfully" used 50mb out of 10 gig àbí you successfully lost 95000mb out of 10gig? Which one pain pass? 2 Likes |

CXLVII: That's the issue with chinese telecom that mostly the western nations of the world saw. China Telco infrastructure producers build their equipment around the framework that heavily integrates the great firewall... So you have series of auxiliary hardwares that run along side their Network infrastructure. That period of aggressive push for 5G was just a ploy to get the millions of equipment already manufactured into every infrastructure globally. But they forgot that the telecom started in the west, so there is no way of sneaking up on them with equipment that can be used for heavy censorship In the case or africa the higher amount of power generation needed to run the entire infrastructure successfully was something they never saw. Most have a yearly phase integration of chinese equipments into their Network... Those such as glo that achieved deeper implemention plan experienced serious drawdown in network because of a steep increase in power consumption. 2 Likes |

Emmanuel Macron is aggressively pursuing investment between French companies and foreign investors. The reason why Macron is so furious with the Aussies for the failed military deal as a result of Australia opting for partnership with the Americans instead to build a nuclear powered Submarine with cutting edge technology to checkmate Chinese ever growing military influence in the pacific region. |

CXLVII: There's no doubt that Huawei, like other Chinese firms, copied the tech of other European tech firms like Alcatel. I can only speak for access/base station subsystem (BSS) and transmission only, but as one who worked in the industry, I can tell you that Huawei products were considered better and more user friendly compared to the old/legacy Alcatel equipment that were quite problematic. If it's all tied to Huawei's equipment, how come MTN made same switch as they swapped their legacy equipment for same Huawei years ago? Keep in mind that the running of Globacom's PLMN isn't outsourced to Huawei but is manned directly by Glo staff, so I don't really get the point you're trying to make on lack of transparency on Huawei's part. 3 Likes |

tradepunter: The issue considered by the west was that of security with concerns of a backdoor into their respective networks as raised by the Americans. Then there's the concern of Chinese dominance when it comes to 5G and the need to "tame" China's leadership in that field. Quality and censorship are DEFINITELY not the issues here. 1 Like |

Zetty177x: The thing is really really annoying. Take your night browsing to those who subscribe for it and give me my entire data I subscribe for. I didn't tell glo I want some of my data balance to be transferred to night. Is it stupidity on their part or just plain wickedness? The customer care representatives? Those ones are saddist employed just to transfer their sad life to you. |

ocelot2006:He be like say you dey work with Huawei hence your support. Truth be told , huwei equipment is inferior to Western brands . A well known fact! Only advantage Chinese have over western own brands us in term of cost. Since Nigeria telcos switch to having Huawei as their core and access network, since then everything spoil . MTN used to be good before it switched to Chinese brand. No good network in Nigeria. |

Just look at the president of France. Actively involved in getting trade deals for indigenous French companies. He looks like someone actually working, like a true civil servant that he is. When you look at buhari, you would think he is a monarch. Things like this don't bother him. It's how to travel out of Nigeria on the slightest invitation that concerns him. Even though his country has just a fraction of the French economy. And he has a only a fraction of macron's power on the world stage. Nigeria has a long way to go. 3 Likes 1 Share |
