No more re-setting,the waiting period for category B applicants is now more than one year.
Go to the German consulate's website and read things for yourself.
Does that mean we could still be given date by summer semester?

Good day my country people!

I don't really know.
But,if i were you,i'll zero my mind for the forth coming summer semester(if the school goes on-line,join them.If they can allow you to defer the admission to winter, better) and re-book now, using second week of November 2022 as my start date.
All the best.

Good day house.

I want to use either German embassy in Benin republic or Senegal to get an appointment since the embassy in Nigeria hardly give appointment. I want to know if it's a good idea, and if anyone have an experience to please guide me since those countries are not English speaking countries.

good afternoon everyone, I've been reading this thread for sometime now and this cat B issue is really disheartening.

Please, is there anyone here who is thinking about Austria? Nobody talks about it. Is it not advisable to go there. i just found it awkward that nobody considers it as an option here. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you

Austria is also good but most of their programmes are in German language, which means you have to present German language certificate.
Again, most of their schools also demand for German language certificate even if the course is English language taught.
For your documents to be certified by their embassy for admission processes, you have to cough out at least N300k.
They have Nigerian lawyers that verify submitted documents by Nigerians.
E no easy for Nigerians any where.

Don’t go and get stuck in Senegal ooh. 6months residence permit must be 6 months. Getting the residence permit is no biggy but you have to stay 6months. Benin republic just wan chop our money cos of the situation, the technicalities getting their local documents is an headache plus plenty scammers already eager to swindle you if you aren’t careful.

If Nigerians are not going to a place e get why.

Make your findings to confirm but the stories about racism there is scary. They could attack blacks there and the police would do nothing about it plus the language barrier. Na study boys wan study na Abi wetin reach attack.

My brother Nigerians are in Austria and doing great things there. If you have your way to go to Austria please go, i mean go! because money dey there too and they have good institutions. About the racism, it's not as bad as it use to be, the best part is that it's not even far from Germany so you can easily cross if it so pleases you.
Atleast it's better than waiting for visa appointments date that might never come.

True sha.

People can still try schools with January intake, else it’s September 2022 which is also sketchy.

Gained admission to a Uni in the US for March.

I'm confused about one thing though.

Any idea what happens if one's Start date passes and he hasn't been given a date yet. Will he still get a date when his waiting period is due?

Taking into account the experience of people who's got appointment dates under category B,appointments come before the start dates.
I've never seen anyone who got an invitation after the start date passed.

It just about misrepresenting Nigeria in Germany. The video is about Nigerian Mafians who engaged in human Trafficking luring young girls for prostitution in Germany.

He's right. There are Nigerians in Austria. It's a beautiful place, just slightly more expensive than Germany.

Yes Austria is also a good path,
And yes the amount you pay for verification and Legalisation of your document is alot.
it also takes a while for the whole process, but of you are patient it is a sure process for now anyway until it cast too.
Then it's advisable to legalise your documents before applying for a school, as most schools require this to give you an Admission.

That's my 2 cents.
