Good day everyone. I have been thinking about United capital and what their dividend payout might be for FY2021. I was at some point thinking that I should sell about 20-30% of my UCAP shares (currently on a profit of approximately 120%) for re-investment in another company as a plan to avoid a shocking P/E or dividend yield. I am looking at Dangote sugar (which I once had) , but would appreciate anyone's opinion/suggestion.

So my concerns are:
1. Is it is worth selling my so-far-reliable (dividend-wise) UCAP?
2. Is Dangote sugar still a good value stock, and which of DANGSUG and UCAP promised a nicer dividend yield for the FY2021?

NB: I am a value investor, and would gladly do my DD on any recommended alternatives.
Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.

When did you start investing in UCAP? My strategy has always been if a stock runs up too fast, I am selling! If this 120% profit happened within a year, I would sell some and deploy the returns elsewhere. If you've been a holder for 2+ years I'd say hold on to your shares and look for more capital to deploy in Dangote sugar.

I am currently in the process of going in heavy on dangote sugar myself, I see value in it. Last year, they upped their dividend payment by around 50%! If they can continue with that or even 20% increment for the next 5 years, my Naija retirement don sure be that

Yes. The data was from Morgan iTrade.
When you login:
- On top left, click on the icon......drop down box will appear
- Select "Trades", you'll see the trades on all stocks
- On top of the page, type or select the Company symbol you wish to view its transactions in the column **remember to pick the symbol from the system, it won't recognize the one you type by yourself**
- Click/select the purpuish icon in from of the colomn
- It will display trades for that particular symbol
- You may use cursor (finger if it's phone) to drag the columns closer for better view.

Thank you my oga. That is a very nice approach you've got.

I have been holding for about 3-4years now (bought over the time space 1+yrs in the frame mid 2017-late 2018). So, I bought at around N2.90-N4.05.
It is feels good to know that we share at least a goal in common - dividend yield and retirement plan (my own major goal too na Naija retirement plan). This Naira devaluation just makes every capital appreciation to provoke a "panic" that whispers "take this profit now and diversify your portfolio to be able to overcome devaluation and inflation".
And yes, I was thinking so about Dangote sugar too.
I will do the second (save more and buy), then reconsider the UCAP holdings.

God bless you boss for your opinion/suggestion.

NGX is moving from NASD to the NGX main board.
Datamax sent me a notification asking for my NGX stock account details.
It should be perfected very soon.
Trusting God for a serious kill on this one.

After their ogas don buy all the shares at discounted price at the Nasd market. They want to now make their profit on the main board. GOD DEY. Corporate governance is zero in Nigeria.

FBNH
Power tussle has been ongoing before now........
Mike Adenuga faction trying to take control of larger % shares.........
Oba Otudeko might have been left with no option that to sell his shares in First Bank to repay the loan to save Honeywell Plc.....

** Oba Otudeko must have been selling his first bank shares.........
** First bank selling Airtel shares in share buyback.......
** The amount to be raked in by FBNH must have been more than the N88B earlier mentioned if FBN is selling both Airtel Nigeria and Airtel Africa shares...........cos Airtel is buying at premium..,.

Lol. Don't mind me, it's just my way of looking at things from my amateur's angle..... grin

measly 3-6% annual return and the fighting with tenant to get paid your rent.

With 33,000,000, you’ll get almost 4,000,000 in dividends alone and that’s not including capital appreciation. On this thread, you’re dealing with people who know how to get the best out of their money. Stop wasting your time

Or depreciation.. which will never happen to real estate!
In terms of rental income, there are some investments that offer better returns than the rate posted by the gentleman.... especially short lets which can give you huge returns!
additionally if you know how to invest off plan or during early stages of development, you can actually make a killing if you decide to sell when property is completed !
I am a solicitor and realtor so I know that you could actually reap bountifully in real estate... With the right advice and strategy

Rental income yield of 30% is not possible.

Kindly put the so called rental income in Naira and Kobo, I am more interested in the cash flow from the investment.
