Justice For My Late Bother by Hallenvator: 11:00am On Oct 08, 2021 |
Dear Nairalander and Nigerians at large. Please help me get justice for my late brother that was murdered on the 9th October, 2020 at Paradise Estate, Gishiri Abuja. All efforts to get justice has proved abortive. Please ignore my grammatical errors because I am writing in pains and tears. My late brother Taiwo Ojuoloruntaiye was a Student at Federal Polytechnic Nassarawa before his death, before his admission in the tertiary institution he has learnt paint production and painting as entrepreneural skill. During the Covid 19 Nation wide lockdown, he moved to Suleja to meet his elder brother whom he stayed with, as a hardworking boy he started to hustle for painting job in Suleja and got some few work before he met one Babatunde Elisha in Suleja that took him to Abuja to work at Paradise Estate Gishiri, Abuja. My brother worked with his suspected killer for three weeks before on the 9th October, after close from work he Babatunde Elisha pleaded with the security guard to allow him and my brother to sleep at the construction site which the security guards initially refused , the suspect took my brother out and later returned around 8pm to plead with security again to allow himself and my deceased brother sleep at the site because they have an urgent work to conclude, the security later granted them the request. By 10pm the security guards on patrol sited the suspected killer of my brother in a dark uncompleted room, he was so uncomfortable with their presence by the window side, he was fidgeting but the guard did not enter the room, when he was asked what he was doing there he said he was looking for his missing tools. At about 11pm the suspected killer came to the security guard at the gate that my brother lying unconscious, he guard asked him what happened he could not give a cogent reason what happened, he was told to take my brother to the hospital, but the suspect abandoned my deceased brother at the clinic around and ran away around 5am on the 10th of October, when the clinic nurse came she saw my brother foaming from his mouth with blood rushing out, that was how my brother died. The owner of the clinic mobilized the Policemen at Gishiri to trace the suspect to Paradise estate The suspect was apprehended by the Policemen when he was about running away from the site haven parked his tools, note;he earlier informed the security guards that my deceased brother is doing well at the clinic where he took him to in the night. At Gishiri Police outpost the suspect was transferred to Mabuchi Police Division Abuja, thereafter to FCT Police Command, Homicide section, the officers at the homicide section started acting strange to the deceased family. The Police brought the pathologist and mandated the deceased family to pay which we did, after the autopsy, the deceased family was never briefed about the autopsy report, the outcome of their investigation but released the suspected killer of my brother without the knowledge of the family. To our suspense, the suspect was set walking free he returned to Suleja bragging that he has bought his way out. We the family wrote a petition letter to the Inspector General of Police requesting for proper investigation on my brother's death because we believed the case has been compromised by men of the FCT Police Command, the case was assigned to FCID by the IGP, to our surprise again the FCID refused to call for the rearrest of the suspect for proper investigation. I want to beg Nigerians to demand justice for my late bother Taiwo Ojuoloruntaiye, our aged parents are traumatized the family is still in shock about the circumstance surrounding the death of our son and inability to get justice |

Are you sure the autopsy report doesn't exonerate the accused? Also the olive should have let you know the cause of death and the outcome of their investigations na. Lack of transparency gives room for injustice. |

This is really sad. The system is fvcked. Why should the family pay for the autopsy? I'd urge the family to petition the IGP again and also call on human rights organizations. |

Poster, if you are in Abuja go to human rights radio (Brekete radio) at games village. People bring complain's from all over the world and through Ordinary president they get justice, that's if their complaints are genuine. Best wishes!! |

MufasaLion:We wrote a petion letter to the IGP, the case was assigned to the FCID, the IPO at FCID charged us some amount of money before our case can be filed at the Homicide section, we paid, yet the case was abandoned and the suspect was never invited for questioning. |
