Me: Excuse me please, I have a letter from my school to the VO, Do you mind taking a look?

V.O- collects document, reads through, puts it aside and then types for a while.

V.O- Have you travelled before?

Me- No, Never had a reason to.

V.O- I can see you're sponsored by your fiance, what does he do?

Me- He works at a Fintech company in Lagos as a cyber security engineer, backend supervisor, also owns properties in Lagos he rents out yearly and writes business propo... (V.O cuts in.)

V.O- What do you do currently?

Me- I work as a legal Practitioner with a litigation firm..(cuts in)

I'm sorry but you do not qualify for an F1 visa at this time under section 241(b). You can read through this document to understand why.

Me- Opening my mouth in shock�� then I said : Thank you and left.

Then, I kept my green paper and passport in-between other documents. People were now saying 'congratulations' and I was saying 'thank you'�
Those people outside that collected 7k to print out my correct barcode page plus 2,500 for passport were now saying, 'Aunty congratulations, wash am for us na.'
I wanted to slap them. One was chasing my taxi���

End of my story.
Oh and yes, you're standing to be interviewed in the open. I used to think it was a room or something���

Now I was told changing my sponsor will be a red flag but I have no choice else it'll be the same fate. My parents are listed as my sponsor.
I only need a good reason as to why I changed my sponsor incase I'm asked.

You already said you have a sister there and now you want to say you don’t have anybody there. Don’t complicate things for yourself please. It is because your sister is living in the same city your school, besides there are many people that have gotten their visas in the same situation like you.

If you can post your transcript let people help you to see if there is any other issue there apart from what you stated. Please don’t lie because what you said during your first interview is on their system already, trying to change it now is the bigger red flag.

Things might have been different if the OP is married and decided to go to US alone for now instead of leaving his fiancee in Nigeria. Another way is to allow your company to sponsor you while you take study leave from work. There are other ways too, gurus can contribute also.

You're right. A private law firm wouldn't have sponsored 33k school fees and that's for two years. Approximately 66k. I had no funding too. I did have a study leave letter from my firm but the interview didn't get to that point.
I figured fiancè was gonna be an issue but twas too late when I realized so I hoped for the best.

No you don’t need to open another one before if you do it will detect that you have a profile on ground already.

Just reset password if you don’t remember the password but I am wondering why your CGI dashboard refuses to open after you have login, it could be network issue

Well in my case, it is not in my I20 because i got it after my I20 but they shouldn't have an issue. MPower has support letter for Visa interview so that should cover you.

My app fee was 75 dollars. I paid

@Ebymo, I just read through your post dated Sept 17 (i.e. last month), how come they have already sent money to your school? Mpower usually does that only after you have arrived the US and signed the Binding document!

If you haven't, then you don't need to pay another mrv fee to choose Abuja, create/update a new ds160 form, cancel your appointment from the cgi, click on on new appointment and proceed to choose Abuja as your interview location. I actually know the password but in about 2 occasions now once I login they tell me to change the password but I skip and it still doesn't respond.. Maybe I'd change the password and try again

There is this colleague of my brother that is an American Citizen. Born in California and 63 years old. He's a retired Army (A senior officer). My brother spoke to him about helping me with relocating to America and he's ready to help. He said I should let him know when he needs to come in (to render assistance) but I don't know where to start from. Is it possible to apply for work visa directly or student visa? He's ready to stand as sponsor and write to all necessary offices. I just don't know where to start from. Please help!!!

He should come to Nigeria as your brothers fiancé, then your brother can get a K1 visa to visit/marry him. This is illegal but that’s the only way he can help.
