That is a biased and unprofessional article possibly written by a racist and bigoted individual. It is just a witer's opinion which is not worth the paper its written on. He is not accused any crime so what is the relevance of this article.
The OP cannot self defend in a US criminal proceeding of this nature and magnitude. He also claimed to have paid $150,000 to lawyers. I can bet my life he was defended by a indigent public defender because that is the way the system works over there. You must have a lawyer to defend you or have one appointed on his behalf.
I agree with the writer who suggested the OP appeal the sentencing, he won't get anywhere with overturning the convictions. He has only one chance at appeal and he will do well not to blow it.
Sentiments, emotions, prayers and so on will not get him out. Publicity won't help either as Nigerian government don't care and have no diplomatic clout to pull any weight internationally. Lots of innocent people are languishing in Nigerian jails and the same leaders do not really care. If he is counting on naija government to come to his aid in the US, its a waste of time. |

GeorgeChidi: I believe 12 jurors spent the better part of a week hearing evidence during a trial and unanimously -- and quickly -- voted to convict him. A jury conviction is a powerful statement of guilt that requires more than a cursory claim of innocence to ignore. The burden of proof shifts to Bah to prove his innocence after that kind of conviction, and he's not meeting that burden, since everything he's arguing would have been evident to those 12 jurors.
He also has tremendous incentive to lie like hell right now, given what he's facing in prison.
There's no point in arguing half-measures: you can't sort-of-rape a 13-year-old girl, and there's no real provision for leniency in sentencing given the conditions. The only way he ever gets out of prison is by arguing that the state broke its own laws prosecuting him. And, again, he isn't offering sufficient evidence of that, because that's a high hurdle to leap.
Yeah. He did it. I can say that because a jury said it.
Did the victim herself identity him? Please answer me. This out to be the strongest testimony if am not mistaken. |

Let me explain sth to you.
He was in jail when those lawyers were suggested to him. I mean his lawyers. He wanted a fair trial..and he couldn't go out. He had to work with them. The first three were same White people from Georgia.
After the long run, he wasn't satisfied with their processes...since he was limited. Remember, he is still in jail footing all the bills..some very exorbitant...and it seemed they were only interested in extorting him (my words).
He sacked them and was standing for himself alone. When the judgement was passed, he was standing alone. He couldn't interrupt when the judge was saying all the things to the jury. He was standing alone. The jury never heard his DNA expert results because he would have been acquitted then. Yes, he would. The judge never gave a room for that tho.
The judge got flared up of his incessant legal fightback and translated it to being not remorseful, hence the gory and long sentences!. Who is remorseful about what they didn't do?
The whole world knows Georgia to be a very tight place for Blacks. Those dudes discriminate a lot.
Also it is ideal to note that it was the Police who provided every thing used to label him a criminal. The same police who stopped him and questioned him of his SUV ..which they later didn't talk about again but brought in the rape case. Initially, they questioned him about the SUV..then diverted to the rape case. He didn't want to respond to them because he wanted his lawyer to speak for him since he didn't know what they were up to. They resorted to saying they shall put the whole charges on him (his words).
Think: who rapes sb in the park of all places when he has a lodge he was staying close there with a room?
What he was wearing was different from what the footage showed. Can sb be at two places the same time? They arrested him cos he was closest to the scene.
Why is the police refusing to accept the DNA expert's results...a professional with over 43 years of experience? Is the police hiding sth?
His DNA with that of the results for the vaginal and the cum didn't match! His contained 20, that was 10...and 10 was the rapist! But the police rather termed it inconclusive...and you and I know what being inconclusive meant! Why were they standing on the fence? Science is rather yes or no.
Then this brings another question. What or who is being protected here? Why is this partial? Because he is black? Why is the judge so enveloped with bitterness to serve him such sentence? That meant if humans lived 1000 years, she was ready to give him it to restrict him for life!
This case is since 2017! Do you know what it feels to be behind bars since then...and most painful when you are innocent?
This could happen to anyone. Imagine...! |

The truth is a lot of black men are incarcerated because it was convenient. A white man could never have gotten such an ugly sentence innocent or otherwise.

GeorgeChidi: I have looked at the "evidences" you've provided in this thread.
You're full of shit. Straight up.
I mean, I get it. People are getting shanked and murdered all around you in the state prison at Coffee County. The Georgia prison system is falling apart, and prison gangs have effectively taken over state prisons because of the labor shortage with guards. You can get your hands on a cell phone because things are that loose right now. Those prison gangs take a very, very dim view of child rapists. You fear for your life, so you're reaching out any way you can hoping someone will get you out.
You've lied like hell through much of the posts here. You were defended by a public defender, and didn't spend your own money on your defense. You challenged the DNA evidence -- because it was a close enough match to you to overcome the doubts of a judge and jury. The victim identified you in court as the attacker. There is no meaningful doubt about your guilt. Nonetheless, I have a phone call out to the district attorney and a records request to the Douglas County courthouse for the full transcript.
With that kind of evidence, you leaving your phone somewhere else while committing the crime -- your "GPS" evidence -- doesn't matter. Minor questions about whether or not you were able to ditch your clothing don't matter. Nothing you've said overcomes the strength of the evidence presented in court, or demands that I "investigate" any further than this.
You were convicted fairly. You are no longer entitled to a presumption of innocence, particularly on the strength of this evidence.
You think you're going to die in jail, and soon. I sympathize with that fear. You were sentenced to life in prison, not to be garroted by a murderer in a dark corner of a prison hall. But you belong in prison.
Oh wow, I can’t believe that one of my favorite journalist of all time is here! Allow me to contain my glee in order to respond. It appears that a fresh pair of eyes was able to see the same things that I did. I’m not sure if you noticed however you and I corrected some of the same misinformation that was provided. For example, he claimed to have spent $150k on his defense however I corrected him because the records show that he used indigent defender services. I also mentioned his motion to suppress DNA evidence (among many other motions) but instead of recognizing that I was privy to the transcript and aware of him running game, he continually insisted that what I was stating was incorrect. I’ve also made it a point through this thread to tell him that his “evidences” pretty much prove nothing since they were things that are easily manipulated or spoofed. And finally, I let it be known that a combination of things led to his conviction therefore challenging each and everything would be extremely time consuming and his chance of success was pretty much that of a snowball in hell. Of course me telling things as they are rather than as people wanted them to be has made me quite the unpopular person in this thread however I told him the truth and consistently asked him to be truthful/stop lying to his Nairaland audience. I must warn you that there are things in the transcript that are extremely unpleasant however I have no doubt that after even an hour or so of examination, you will hold strong to your current opinion. TBH, your time would be better spent assisting elsewhere. HTH Cc GeorgeChidi 10 Likes |

@OP I am disappointed at your demeanor on this thread and on the whole case. I don't know if you are truly guilty or innocent, because from the little I have read, your story does not add up. You sound just too arrogant, especially for a convicted man attempting to prove his innocence. You came here seeking for help and your overbloated ego will drive away those that can help you. You never know whence help will come in your time of despair and desperation. Help usually comes from unexpected quarters. You need to humble yourself. You don't expect everyone to believe you, even Jesus himself could not convince everybody. You need to explain yourself to doubters over and over again in a humble manner until he or she believe there is a slim chance you are innocent. You never know if such doubter would be the one to save you. It's even possible that 1stgenamerican and georgechidi were assigned by someone up the justice ladder to engage you to see if you have a case. Your arrogance would drive away those than can genuinely help. Once again pray everyday for God to give you the humble spirit. I truly hope you get justice.

Have taken my time to go through the thread since last night and I will make my submissions.
Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer neither have I ever practiced law before.
1. Nobody is accusing Mr bah or trying to prove anything against him. In law and I beleive also in the US, a person is presumed innocent until convicted and in this case Mr bah has been convicted.
So the jd woman and the journalist aren't trying to prove anything against him I believe.
It is Mr. Bah that must prove his innocence in his appeal.
2. In my opinion, the jd woman has really been the most helpful to his case here as believe me if she is asking these questions and punching the holes imagine what the attorneys would do in court.
This should help Mr bah know how to strengthen his case and know which of his evidences are weak and how exactly they can be countered in court.
3. Mr. Bah has placed his invoice majorly on 2 pieces of evidence - the 6 mins phone call he had and the dna testimony of his expert and I will tackle them both.
Like I said earlier I am not a lawyer, but these could help Mr bah build up his evidences.
4. Mr bah claims he made a 6 mins phone and has asked several times if he can be making a phone call and raping the girl at the same time. Well, here are counter questions:
4a. What was the duration of the assault? Did the assault happen for exactly 6 mins or shorten?
Cos if the assault lasted longer eg for at least 30 mins then the 6 mins call becomes baseless. As I can have a phone call for 6 mins and then proceed to do other things.
4b. Was the exact time of the assault recorded. Not an assumed time but the exact time.
Why? Because 6 mins is extremely short and it has to be proved that the assault happened at exactly the same time Mr bah made the call and that the assault lasted for 6 mins.
So I believe the call is a weak piece of evidence (again I am not a lawyer and Mr bah should seek appropriate legal counsel)
5a. Did they victim identify Mr bah at any time.
I believe most parents would ask that their children not testify in an open court cos of the trauma it could cause but that shouldn't stop the victim from talking privately to police I believe.
So did the victim positively identify Mr bah at any time during the investigations?
If she did not, then his defence should be built around this.
5b. There was reportedly a cctv footage and online media reports say the footage shows Mr. Bah chasing the victim into the Woods.
Was this cctv footage shown in court?
If so, what was Mr. Bah reason for chasing the victim?
If the victim did not positively identify Mr bah as the attacker at any point, then that should be argued in court, could be given as I believe this is negligence on thier part (again Mr bah should consult with an attorney)
5c. According to Mr. bah there exists a second cctv footage that shows a man putting a shorts described to the police during a 911 call.
Now this a tricky one?
According to Mr bah, this particular footage wasn't shown in court.
Mr. Bah have you seen this footage and did you identify the man on shorts?
If not, did those who saw the footage identify the man as you?
If his face wasn't captured, did they identify any obvious difference in both your appearance? Significant height and weight difference, hair, tattoo or body piercing, skin color etc.
If yes, then this should be the center piece of your defence.
If you aren't sure, then your attorney should request to study the tape if possible.
6a. Was there any other dna collected at the crime scene?
This could prove that there are more than 1 suspect.
6b. Wad the results of dna analysis disputed in court or was it just the method used in getting the results?
6c. Did they dna expert Mr. Bah claims didn't testify conduct a fresh and different test to disprove that which was presented at not.
If not, how did he arrive at the analysis?
6d. Was the tests presented in court carried out by just one lab or did multiple labs present they same result.
6e. Did Mr. Bah ask for the dna analysis to be redone at any time during the hearings.
If not, is that still possible?
6f. Did the lab or labs that conducted have any history of dna swaps, fraudulent activities or any other incriminating records? 17 Likes 1 Share |

404Dev: Have taken my time to go through the thread since last night and I will make my submissions.

Mr Bah needs to answer this line by line. It summarizes everything we are arguing here. |

Yes. The victim identified Bah out of a lineup of 6-8 men. 8 Likes 1 Share |
