The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Thursday vowed not to engage the Indigenous People of Biafra and its security outfit, Eastern Security Network ahead of the governorship election in Anambra State. The spokesman of the electoral body, Festus Okoye, said the commission will not engage IPOB and ESN because it has been proscribed by the Federal Government. Okoye while speaking on Arise TV said INEC will only engage other stakeholders like security agencies, civil society organizations. The electoral body has scheduled the gubernatorial election in the state for November 6, 2021. There has been security issues in the state as political parties take out time to campaign for their candidates. Some of the attacks in the state has been linked to the outlawed IPOB and its security outfit. Okoye while speaking said, “We recognise political parties, we recognise the people of Anambra state, we recognise civil society groups and organisations. “We recognise traditional institutions and the clergy, so if they are part of civil society groups and organisation and they attend our programs we will tell them what we want to do in relation to Anambra elections. “But in terms of IPOB, the commission will not go out of its way to go and engage with an organisation that the federal government has declared as illegal. So we won’t do that. 2 Likes 2 Shares

The deployment of large number of soldiers and police has given confidence to the electorates to come out on November 6th. These unknown gunmen have their camps in Imo state from where they attack Anambra and then go back. Focus should be placed on those communities bordering Imo state. Prof Chukwuma Soludo is the choice of Anambra people. 4 Likes |

AsomughaChuks05:Thunder will soon fire you in your quest to join those who want to legitimize poverty and misery in our land. All of you useful idiots and saboteurs should be ashamed of yourselves. Selling your future for a porridge. All for the sake of N2,000 and a 5kg bag of rice. How has Obiano's 8yrs impacted your miserable life? Yet, you are excited itching to enter into more years of misery. Do you need anyone to explain to you how your vote will be an approval to the injustices going on in our land? Black man with no pride. Watch the below video from 4:30mins. The man in the video is talking about shameless people like you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umEa99oYZtQ 1 Like 1 Share |

ablejesus26: Brainwashed indeed that we are not seeing them that all attacks always come from outside like imo , Ebonyi and Abia. Why is it that your people carry no election in anambra for head? They are brainwashed that immediately Uwazuruike formed Massob he rushed down to anambra? Nnamdi Kanu formed his, all his eyes on Anambra, when he was free no single day of his life will pass without dragging anambra sons. Nwokem your people littered in anambra state are the ones carrying Ipob matter for head and causing issuing for indigenes who are not interested. Last attack they all came from mgbidi, same as the one that happened in Nnewi last time. Make una mind una state and business. Nobody begged for your support. |
