Your analysis is spot on. But me thinks Buni is working for a southern candidate other than South West.
Mind you, ANPP led by Ogbonnaya Onuh has more stake in the party than CPC.
New PDP led by Amaechi has big stake in the party too.
These two clans don't talk anymore, but things are going well for them in the party. Maybe, Buni is doing their bidding while they face other things.

You are articulate in your analysis. Buni group is growing and Atiku Bagudu is the preferred candidate for president. they are scheming to win more converts to win the primaries effortlessly. Amaechi is in the same group and may be their choice for Vice president. Tinubu has a lot of foot soldiers in the north o. Especially in the North too- Umar Ganduje, Zulum, Tanko Almakura, adamawa state and many young politicians in the north are routing for him even far more than the southern counterpart. my verdict- if primary is held today, Tinubu will trump Mai Buni group(there are many northerners that are routing for Tinubu silently ).

Never say never. Buhari has occultic followers in the nouth. He may endorse a puppet form north. Security agencies and inec are under his control. It is only revolutionary votes that can stop rigging.

I have no issues with someone like rochas okorocha getting the ticket. Even if south west is betrayed it won't stop us from getting the restructuring we need. But it's unlikely APC would field an eastern candidate, most likely alternative is from south south, fielding another northern candidate my win elections but it would only divide the country more.
