Entire Kenya has 52billion dollars economy,
Lagos state alone has 92biliion dollars..

Now 5yrs later - Kenya GDP has doubled to 100B dollars.

Next 5yrs I see it doubling to 200B dollars.

And by 2030 - it will be - 350-400B dollars economy

By 2035/2040 - we are talking 600B dollar economy.

South Africa next 5yrs prognosis is to do zero growth - plus one -minus one - unless the minerals behave.

Nobody missed China's rise. Since the 1990s China had been making stuff for export. The potential was there that China would become a superpower.

If Kenya would really rise the way you are making it look, no one could miss it.

Kenya medical doctors and hospitals provide referal services for more than 10 countries. Patients are daily flown from as far Congo for treatment in Nairobi. Kenya doctors are so highly paid - very few consider relocating abroad. Burundi president was flown in. magufuli died in Nairobi. The same bed the Tanzania opposition leader he tried to murder by pumping 20 bullets was rescued from..after being flown from Dar....and magufuli wasnt lucky.
No.He died in mzena military hospital in Dar es salaam where he was hospitalized for few weeks.
You can treat a Burundian president. You will never see a TZ president leaving Tanzania's Best facilities for average service in Nairobi.

Shma sometimes I just want to avoid stupid conversations. Remember the other thread where we analyzed everything from every country and brought it all to bear? We're all aware of who got what and who didn't. Take a look at the lady's video. She claims Nairobi is far ahead of Accra, but it has its own drawbacks. That unbiased observation, despite the fact that I suspected she was rooting for Ghana. Take a look at the conversation you're having with just30. The dude is merely trolling. That's why I don't want to waste time on such a pointless debate.
What's the funniest thing about this thread? Everyone is aware of their country's true shytness. Everyone is aware of it. An it has just come to my attention that people are afraid of Kenya.

So dont allow ths folks to drag you to their alternate universe. You know what they say..They will drag you down there and torture you with their weidness grin

I don’t know about other nationals but I can assure u without doubting for a sec that no Nigerian is afraid of Kenya. That has got to be the biggest, dumbest joke ever told this year.

Yes I think Kenya has nearly met all the preconditions for take off.

1) Demographics - Kenya demographic started it's transition in 2016 or about. The current 10-14 are the most popolous - while next two cohorts have been declining. This is nationally - in places like your central kenya - this long happened. The demographic dividend means having more working population and less dependants - this lead to more wealth creation/savings - that scale nationally. Kenya is about 5yrs from entering that phase..investment in population control (kenya has africa highest contraceptive usage) are starting to pay.

2) Human Capital - Kenya has Africa highest HCI. Kenya historically had quality education but health has been lacking behind. The 1990s-2000s HIV-AIDs basically ravaged kenyans but all that is now behind us. Once the universal health care through compulsory basic insurance is fully implemented we would have nailed this. On education - the shift from university education to vocational training - has started.

3) Basic Infrastructure - Kenya basic infrastructure has tremendously improved the last 15yrs. The roads, the railways, the electricity, sewage, water -are now everywhere - except small pockets up the northern kenya. We need to get LAPSET corridor done - and the entire country will be unlocked.

4) Governance - New constitution (COK 2010) with independent judiciary and devolution - has proven itself. Kenya became 1st African country to annual a sitting president election. Attempts to mutilate it through BBI thwarted in also an historic ruling that got global attention for it's intellectual depth and rigors. Judiciary are also starting to deal with corruption firmly - although cases still take long. It a shame police reforms became stillborn and whilst Police/DPP/EACC are independent - unlike judiciary they have surrendered their independence to the executive. But COk2010 if fully implemented - is a modern constitution that set us on a solid framework for law and order. We need to fix police and it's corruption pronto.

Once those four pre-condition have bee met - roughly we are five years from getting there - kenya economy will take off. Industrialization will happen...already there is a thriving nascent cottage industry starting to form. FDI will flow. And within 20 yrs - kenya will be a developed country - something South African has failed to become - having fallen to the middle class trap (thanks to poor investment in HCI due to apartheid and mishandling HIV-AIDS under horrible Mbeki leadership)

Accra of 2000 was still the most developed city in East, Central and West Africa.

Accra of 2010, Nairobi still in the gutters to reach it level.

Nairobi of 2021 is a village
Nairobi of 2010 was a conurbation of shanties
Nairobi of 2000 was a shanty

How on earth did I miss the emboldened, guess Lagos and Abidjan are both in Europe if Accra is the most developed city in west Africa . grin

The Second Niger Bridge Project 70% completed (will be delivered in the year 2022), this project alone is bigger than any projects ever embarked on by Kenya grin grin grin
The Second Niger Bridge is a key national infrastructure, with immense socio-economic benefits for the contiguous states and indeed the entire nation.

Upon completion, the bridge will ease traffic flow, improve road safety, and create greater opportunities for local residents by advancing the commercial viability of the immediate area and regenerating economic life.

The scope of works include the construction of 1.6 km long bridge, 10.3 km Highway, Owerri interchange and a toll station for the first phase

What a useless country look at the billion tonnes per second of water and there is not even a dam on that river hopeless nation. A nation which the government goes and build dams in the middle of the Desert and starts cancelling them off because of lack of water

there was no house even at that time without toilet... Massive rural migration in the late 90s is what brought those nonsense as people were scrambling for places in Accra.

Anyway when I find that documentary again, I will send it to you. Seems you want to clear your eye top.

It should be on YouTube or in their broadcasting archives...
